Came by on a rainy weekend and service was pretty fast. I love coconut so of course I opted to get the coconut coffee. Unfortunately, it is only available cold. Regardless, it was really good--the coconut flavor was very strong, exactly what I had hoped for. I would DEFINITELY get it again in the summer. I was extremely intrigued by the pho burrito. While the concept is unique, I would definitely prefer a bowl of pho. The tortilla wrap just didn't seem to match with the pho filling. Not sure how feasible it would be but I think using a rice paper wrap would be better. read more

If I could give this place a 10 I would . From the minute you walk in and are greeted by the personable person behind the counter . All servers are kind and smiling . The place is immaculate , clean , friendly and inviting. Please don't get me started on the food . We ordered the chicken ban mi and the pho burrito with their Boston cream latte ( Vietnamese coffee with alternative milk. I had it with Soy). Omg! I swear I'm not exaggerating when I say it would probably one of the best meals I've had in my life ! It will be really hard not to come back every week or even every day if I could . I ordered online via their website for pickup so I can't say much about the in-person experience, but it's a nicely designed cafe with nice workers. Pickup was quick, though they made my coffee after I arrived (it wasn't too busy at the time). Like everyone else, I had to try their pho burrito. I thought it tasted great and had the familiar flavors I expected out of pho and its accompanying hoisin sauce. It was also a surprisingly good value for what it costed and filling as well! The broth it came with was good too, maybe a little milder than I'm used to. The pho-cooked beef in the burrito was in chunks instead of thick-ish slices that I thought it'd be in. Not sure why I'm writing that boring fact but here we are. A note for those who are pho purists: I can see why they'd get turned off by the idea of a pho burrito (e.g. my wife, whose dad makes pho from scratch at home - charred onions and all). I'd probably feel similarly weirded out by, say, a Taiwanese beef noodle soup burrito. However, I think it's definitely worth giving it a shot regardless, just keep an open mind about the novel concept of a pho burrito. read more

This review is long overdue, but I was a frequent customer at Phin's during my first year of graduate studies. Their banh mi cha lua was absolutely delicious, and it's perhaps even better than most banh mi joints back in SoCal. Other foods that I've absolutely grew fond of were the teriyaki chicken noodle salad (it tasted like Thit Ko/Vietnamese braised pork, which reminded me of my family's home-cooked meals), their signature Pho burrito, and lastly the charboiled pork spring rolls. Regarding their beverages, I would highly recommend their avocado smoothie and cold brew. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I do recall drinking their Vietnamese coffee, which was okay. It was slightly on the sweeter side, and it wasn't necessarily bitter (compared to other Vietnamese cafes/joints). Now that I'm back in California, I do miss this place. Whenever I felt homesick, I would go to Phin's to study and hear the workers conversing in Vietnamese. For a brief time, it felt like I was at home--hearing my family members talk while I'd passively listen to their conversation and work on my assignments. I didn't feel like an outsider, until I stepped outside into the city. read more

I came on opening day to try some of their main entree items. Pho burrito: the broth was very good! As pho broth normally is lol. The texture and the bite to the burrito was perfect. The vermicelli really feels great to bite through. Though I do wish the burrito was a bit bigger. Its about the size of a Vietnamese spring roll (delicious ) but definitely smaller than I'd like. Chicken Banh Mi: the baguette didnt taste that fresh, not stale though. But the fillings, or items, to bread ratio was very good. Not overly stuffed to the state of overflow but also not slim pickings. It was also very nice that the staff remembered me! I really wanted to try Phin Coffee House and I won't lie I did expect a whole lot more. When we walked in there were a lot of dirty tables we just had to clear it ourselves (not sure if people are suppose to clean up after themselves) but the tables were empty so we had to clean up after other people. The food itself the chicken ragu didn't have a lot of chicken in it, and the pho burrito was mediocre to me. The coffees were good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get Phin Coffee House. read more

This is my favorite coffee shops in the city. Their banh mi's are so good, not dry at all, and incredibly flavorful. I really like their spring rolls with shrimp too. And their drinks are regally good. I recommend the ca phe phin, which is the vietnamese iced coffee, and if you want something special, their coconut coffee, which almost looks like a frapp and topped with whipped cream, so scrumptious. The prices are really good too, you can get an entree and a drink plus tip for 20 dollars. And the space is beautiful and clean, and the staff are very nice. read more

Don't bother ordering online for an advance time or bother with online ordering at all. It doen't achieve anything even with payment up front. They didn't even start my order until I got there. It was already 5 mins overdue and should have been waiting for me to pickup. The deuce in front of me who ordered at the register to eat in, got SERVED while I was still left standing waiting while they started on my order. So all in all not worth the bother. They food is just OK. I work down the street and I don't think I will patronize again due to this severe lack of attention. I can do better. read more

Hmm I feel conflicted about Phin's. The coffee shop itself is cute with nice ambient light and kind staff but the food is pretty underwhelming. I tried the pho burrito and the banh mi on a second visit and really didn't care for it. If I really want pho I'd rather go to pho Pasteur nearby. However the coffee and drink selections are nice especially on a hot day. I'll return for a drink and a place to catch up with a friend but not quite to get a meal. I have still have hope for Phin's tho. read more

Such a cute spot for coffee! The Pho Burrito was definitely a novelty item, but it tasted pretty good. I though you were supposed to dip the burrito into the soup, but you're supposed to drink it while eating with the burrito. I LOVE their Vietnamese coffee and definitely recommend it since there's no Vietnamese coffee places in the area. The banh mi was good too, but I would say the bread was a little on the harder side. Walked here after my gym session because my boyfriend loves viet food and always wanted to show me viet coffee. So we ordered the Phin Coffee and the Boston Cream Coffee - both are vietnamese coffee- and it was so, so good. The Boston Cream coffee was creamy and not overly sweet (we were scared it was going to be too sweet but it was perfect). We also ordered the Pho Burrito and the pork Banh Mi. Although the banh mi didn't come in the traditional baguette but the bread was toasted well and so tasty. The pho burrito is a cool concept but we'd rather get an actual bowl of pho instead. Such a cute cafe! We stopped by because we were very intrigued by their pho burrito ($9.95). It was very fun to eat. I loved the Vietnamese coffee as well. It was both strong and sweet. I ordered the "Ca Phe Phin". It was way better than I expected (and I had high expectations for this cute little store!) It was described as Vietnamese ice coffee, which is usually drip coffee in a traditional Vietnamese Phin (metal dripper) served over a glass of ice and sweet condensed milk. DRINK: This was amazing. The barista made it with a shaker, so it tasted extra velvety and had a nice layer of foam, like a Greek frappe. Super chocolatey taste and with a hint of salt to lift the aroma? I'll have to return to ask. Best cold coffee I've had in a while and definite upgrade from Peet's iced black tie. AMBIENCE: very calm and relaxing interior. Tables were well distanced and I also liked looking at all the different coffee making equipment on display, including a tower cold brew maker. SERVICE: Barista was very nice. She made the drink pretty quick but I could tell it was with caring attention, even though it was 10 minutes to closing time. read more

WHOA. I love the tofu banh mi served here. The tofu is so amazingly tender and flavorful, and the bread always tastes fresh. Usually, banh mi sandwiches are on the messier side, but they perfectly wrap these so that they are nice workday lunches. The house Vietnamese iced coffee was amazing as well. I've been here 3x now and it's always a bit crowded at noon, for good reason. Will definitely be back! read more

Had a 1.5 hour train layover in Boston on our way from NYC to Portland and made a stop here post lunch for a pick me up. Best Vietnamese ice coffee I've had in a very long time! To be fair, I'm not really a coffee drinker but their iced coffee with condensed milk is delish! And the baristas were super friendly and just the cutest! My only regret is eating lunch beforehand so didn't get to try the pho burrito and spring rolls. But in the words of Arnold, I'll be back!! read more

There are some pretty ignorant comments in here, so I thought I'd leave a post. I was visiting Boston and happened to have stumbled upon this place in trying to grab a quick lunch in the Financial District on a Sunday. This place is Vietnamese owned and operated. Luckily this place was open and PACKED. I ordered a Vietnamese pork bánh mì. Let me preface by saying that the pork meat is Vietnamese cold cuts, which I didn't mind at all. The bread is a perfect blend of crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. There was cilantro, Mayo, pickled daikon and carrots in my sandwich. I'm not a fan of daikon, so the overabundance of the pickled daikon was a bit much for me. However, this sandwich had pate in it, which I was surprised to see. Plus, this sandwich was pretty large and a good value. Needless to say, this place is a perfect mixture of trying to introduce newbies to Vietnamese food not called 'pho,' while also holding a piece of authenticity to their foods. I wished that I wasn't already heavily caffeinated because I really wanted to try any one of their coffees! read more

Phin Coffee House is delicious. This modern take on Vietnamese food is great! If you're in Boston and you've had your lobsta, chowda, and seafood come by Phin's for something new. Been here twice already and can't get enough. I absolutely loved the coffee in Vietnam and this place is the closest thing I have found to it. I've gotten the ca phe phin (classic Vietnamese coffee) as well as the coconut coffee - and both are incredible. Visited Boston from NYC for a little trip and decided to make a stop here on our last day for a quick bite in the morning. We ordered the pho burrito which I was extremely excited for. Sadly it didn't live up to expectations. Similar to what another reviewer said, the broth had a layer of oil on top (pho broth is usually pretty clear) and it was not very flavorful. The burrito itself also left a lot to be desired. It didn't have too much flavor, but I would assume it mainly relied on the broth for flavor, which again, was unfortunately mediocre. Rating: 3/5 We also got a Ca Phe Phin and although I knew it would have condensed milk in it, it was a bit too sweet for my preference. I personally enjoy being able to taste more of the bitterness of the coffee. Otherwise, the drink was fine and I would consider getting it again if I wanted a sweet drink. Rating: 3.5/5 The staff was nice, but service was a little bit slow. We also ordered a pistachio (or pandan, I forget) muffin which they also forgot to give to us until we asked for it again, after they gave us the rest of the food. Rating: 2.5/5 Ambiance is nice and modern. It has a clean feel and it might be a cute spot to do some work (not sure if they have free wifi). Overall, maybe I had too high of expectations based on the glowing reviews. This wouldn't be a must-visit for me, but it is OK if you're already in the area! read more

It's in a very convenient location near South Station. The decor is nice and spacious and bright. It would be a great place to have a coffee chat meeting with a colleague (or even first date?) kind of place. The bathroom is very clean. There are good tables and chairs for doing some laptop work. I had the Ca Phe Phin, I agree with the other reviews that it is on the small side... but it is very good =/ 5 stars for the ambience! read more

I got their vietnamese coffee and I felt like it tasted more like a regular latte than a traditional vietnamese coffee that uses a strong espresso and more condensed milk. Inside was clean and airy and seemed like a good place to study! read more

First time coming here and will definitely be coming back. The staff were so sweet and kind making sure we got a place to sit. I was craving Vietnamese coffee so we all ordered the Ca Phe Phin (Vietnamese coffee). Super delicious and my friends really enjoyed it since it was their first time trying Vietnamese coffee. 10/10 recommend!!!! Love the set up and design as well!!!!! read more

I got a Spicy Greek Breakfast Wrap ($13, +$1.50 for egg white sub) and a Santorini Sunrise Yogurt Bowl ($12). The portions are gigantic and the food is fresh. Ingredients are super fresh and tasty. I LOVE the pressed juices, they are a bit up there in price but the bottles are reusuables and a good size. You can also have juices pressed to order which come out tasting so so good. The menu is expanssivee. So far, I am a huge fan of the pita, hummus, labneh, anything with meat (smash burgers and brisket breakfast sando), and they have pretty decent mac. I'm excited to continue eating my way through their options. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. The restaurant is bright and bubbling. The servers are very kind and always helpful with menu questions. It can get quite busy but service moves quick. I have ordered ahead and ordered in person and never had an issue. If you are in a rush around lunch definitely do yourself a favor and order ahead. If you have time, the wait is never usually more than 10-15 mins and goes by quick. Also sign up for seaport insider to rack up some points ;)

The corn has a crunch and sometimes more of a chewiness with the intact skin (which I can see how some people may not be a fan of but I liked the textural contrast.) I also got their rose cold foam with the pistachio latte. The cold foam actually featured a nice floral, rosy flavor that complemented the pistachio nuttiness. The house tatte latte is another reliable go-to favorite of mine! As usual staff were nice and friendly. Food came out at a reasonable time given how busy it was. Again I love how consistent Tatte has been able to offer their yummy drinks and food across different locations in different cities throughout the years!

So when I was going to the newly dubbed Menino Convention and Exhibit Center (previously known as the BCEC), I decided to stop by. I wasn't the only one who decided hitting Cocorico to be a good idea that day. Although with its location in the Omni Hotel, they did also have a convenient customer base from the get go. It took me 15 minutes to get through the line with 3 staffers handling things. I picked up the last Yuzu Strawberry Cruffin for $8. It was huge! And lots of filling. I really wanted to like this spot especially given it is tucked into a local bookshop right in the Seaport but this visit was just okay.

I ordered the nana's egg sandwich in a pita - it was essentially an omelette sandwich with boursin, olive tapenade, cucumber, tomato and schug which is a green hot sauce which I got on the side. It was quite interesting- not what I had expected and next time I would ask to omit the olive tapenade. I asked for ketchup to add in. It was a really good portion- probably 2 or 3 eggs. Very hearty and filling. The friend ordered the eggplant quinoa bowl which comes in this sauce and very cheesy. Comes with bread - really tasty! Bartender was friendly and service was great!

I mean, it's Boston, so I get it -it's a tourist area - but it's still worth mentioning. The ordering process is simple: order at the counter, grab a table, and wait for your food. I also wasn't a fan of seeing one of the staff members standing at the bar right next to us eating with an earbud in. It wasn't a huge deal, but it didn't feel very professional. We as in my boyfriend ordered both the cold Maine-style lobster roll with mayonnaise and the warm Connecticut-style lobster roll. The positives: * The bun was a perfect 10/10 soft, buttery, and toasted perfectly. * The lobster tasted fresh. * The lobster-to-bun ratio was decent, although I personally prefer the more generous portions you get in Maine. * The atmosphere was great with baseball on the TVs and a fun Boston vibe. Very seaport forward. The downsides: * The Connecticut-style roll barely had any butter and definitely needed more. * The lobster was slightly overcooked probably by a few minutes which made it a bit tougher than it should have been. * At around $40 per lobster roll, I expected better execution. The clam chowder was also disappointing. I kept wondering where the clams were because I barely tasted any. It was very thick and mostly tasted like corn. Even after adding salt and pepper, it didn't improve much. Overall, I expected more for the price. There were definitely some highlights, especially the bun with fresh lobster and the atmosphere, but the food didn't quite live up to the cost. That said, I'll give it another try because maybe this was just a fluke. I always like giving restaurants a second chance, and I'm hoping this experience was the exception rather than the norm.

I am always surprised at how full I am when I leave! I'm stuffed every time. There is complementary miso soup with all of the bowls I've tried, outlined below. I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!

The second time I went back, I ordered take out so I could eat it at the airport for dinner. I ordered the Sake Maguro Hamachi don, added ikura and negitoro. Again, so impressed with the quality of the fish and the size of it. They didn't skimp out and really enjoyed the thickness of the sashimi despite it only being 3 pieces. It was a very satiating bowl. Cant wait to come back next time again!
