Me and my partner ordered #25 (Pho Tai Chin) , #60 , and #65. I asked the waitress what is the difference between #60 (Hu Tieu Xao Thap Cam) and #65 (Mi Xao Thap Cam). She said #65 is a crispy noodle. Well, when I got #65 it was not crispy at all. There is no difference between #60 and #65 which is very disappointing. I was craving some pho and sought out a top-rated place to satiate this craving. After peeking photos online of some of the food I opted to order some chicken pho, and shrimp salad rolls and chicken egg noodles to share with my husband. The portion sizes are large and satisfying! The pho really hit the spot. We liked the egg noodle dish but it was different than we were expecting from the photos/reviews online (the order was thin, curly noodles instead of the large flat ones we expected). I am unsure if there was a mistake in the kitchen or simply a misunderstanding on our part! In any case, the food was still filling and flavorful so there was no real problem. A new pho restaurant is in town! Tucked away in a plaza with an international grocery nearby, Pho 21 just had their opening that I attended. While not in the best part of town or that aesthetically pleasing on the outside the inside was clean and looks like they put a lot of work into it. There was karaoke in the back room as well as a band set up for Sunday and a bar in the front. The menu had lots of Vietnamese food, and most of the waiters were starting today and were young, so they didn't know anything about the menu, had to double check the numbers of our order, and seemed a bit disorganized but I didn't mind. In actuality I'd probably give this a 3.3, but I'm the first reviewer and it was their first day open. The food itself was pretty good, the pho special I ordered was tasty and flavorful, but the people I went with found it not as good as Pho 54 in town. The goi rolls were prepared well but I didn't find them very tasty and found myself not being able to finish them, don't recommend getting them. The pineapple smoothie was really good, the milk bubble tea was just alright. Overall this is a good place that can only get better with consolidation of the menu and more training and organization. Came here other day since for dinner since I was in the area and was really impressed! I ordered the Bun Reiu and the Mon Cuon. Both were very different but both delicious. The crab soup had a bit of spice but the chunks of crab meat balanced out the flavors of the spice. The Mon Cuon was essentially a DIY spring roll dish. The flavors of the pork, beef and shrimp really cut through all of the veggies that you are able to pack into the roll. This place has been on my hot and new list for a while and I've been dying to try it! Located off of 21st street in a strip mall you can find this place. It has a large inside with tables booths and a bar, and I noticed a drum was set up, like the have live music. Friendly staff, they were pretty prompt when it came to greeting us and serving drinks. They have water, soda products, wine, beer and boba tea. The food menu is extensive as well! Lots of options to choose from. The appetizers are awesome; I had the egg rolls with fish sauce and they didn't disappoint, I also had a delicious spring roll as well with peanut sauce. The Ben chat is what I went with for my main course and it was delicious! Very tasty pho spot on the east side of Indy- 21st and Franklin. My coworker recommended this spot. The pho was delicious and the Jasmine Milk tea was refreshing. We went for lunch and had to sit ourselves. The waiter brought over waters and menus once we sat down. We looked over the menu and waited for them to take our order. She didn't even wince, apologize, or have ANY sort of reaction. It was the strangest thing!! We drove 50mins to try this place out but worst customer service i ever seen at a Viet place. 40mins+ waiting in still no food, they dont even want to come say something about good is running late or something. They focus on making drinks for new people come in, while we only ask for a cup of ice but they never bring it out. Online ordered 11/25 at around 6 pm and the process was very easy. Picking it up was pretty smooth only a 5-10 minute wait. My mom got spring rolls (7)-(which she says are the best ones she's ever had!) and the dish pictured (41). I got a tofu and rice noodle dish (64) and I will say it wasn't as saucy as I like but I think that's just the dish and I should've added more sauce when I ordered. Woah. My wife and I stopped here on a whim for a late-night dinner. We are so glad we did. We had to get the house special pho as first-time visitors but honestly it wasn't an easy choice - their menu features many authentic Vietnamese flavors and staples. Regardless, we were not disappointed to say the least. Easily the best pho we've had in Indy, and likely in my top 5 ever. The vegetable sides were fresh and crisp. The broth was pure, deeply savory, and perfectly seasoned. The condiments were varied (the hoisin and siracha were a gimme, but the chili oil and crisp were a nice bonus). The meatballs and flank slices were more or less what you'd expect, but the tendon bits were perfectly gelatinous and plentiful. If I had to be super nit-picky, I'd say the soup texture was just slightly thinner than I'd like, but again, that's really nit-picking. Aside from the standout pho, the restaurant was clean and spacious, the service was friendly and quick (even in the late hour), and the prices were more than fair. Highly recommended. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, the egg rolls and the oolong milk tea to start off with. I never had spring rolls before and previous reviews made them look very good. Unfortunately, the spring rolls were absolutely disgusting. they were extremely dry- it was like eating a salad without any salad dressing and adding shrimp. they did serve it with a peanut sauce but even that didn't do it any justice. We really enjoyed the egg rolls and the fish oil it was served with so we asked our waiter if we could send the spring rolls back and have another order of egg rolls instead. He said no because we already took a bite out of the spring roll. I literally took ONE bite. Seriously?! How would someone know they didn't like something if they didn't try it first?? How annoying. I ordered the #75 which is beef and mixed vegetables with rice. I ordered fried rice instead of white, there was an up charge for the fried rice but I was fine with it. My friend ordered the shrimp fried rice and it was on a decent size plate with plenty of shrimp. Both of our entrees came out hot and fresh, we had no complaints. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't impressed either. It really made me feel some type of that we weren't accommodated for the food we didn't like. Ok first. I love their bubble tea. I honestly think it's the best in all of indy but their boba is a hit and miss. It's just depend on the day. Second, their bun bo hue is the best in Indy and a lot of my viet friends agree. Same with their banh mi. However, it just the best of what Indy has to offer to please take that with a grain of salt. Also, the tilapia fish grilled in banana leaf was kinda salty which overwhelm the seasoning. I have to get up to ask for more napkins and a refills for my water. They take way too long to take my order. And they are not even busy. There may be only 2-3 other tables. They like to put your appetizer order first. Then they bring out the appetizers without giving you utensils and plates. Then after all that, you ask them to take your order. The smoothies are made of powder. & it's very obvious from the taste. The egg rolls, spring rolls, and chicken wings are very good. Their milk tea drinks are good as well. Vietnamese flavors are subtle and can take a few bites before they find their voice. The pho had a good beef flavor and a nice mix of the traditional herbs and spices. But I reminded myself of all the good yelpers who have visited and given good reviews, so we reluctantly parked and walked it. The 1st impression inside is a local diner/buffet with a big bar in the middle, aged wood paneling and wood accents are everywhere. Really felt out of place for a Vietnamese restaurant. There was only 1 other table of 3 in the whole place which could easily seat 150-200, i was more doubtful of the yelpers's reviews now. We were quickly seated and provided menus and water, reading the menu, it was classic Vietnamese with Bun, Pho, Banh Mi, and familiar appetizers like spring rolls and summer rolls. In addition, there were some rare menu items such as Sizzling crepes, fried quail, and Ba Vi, so it was looking better. We ordered spring rolls, Pho, sizzling crepes, and fried quail. The orders came out pretty quick and was so much better than we were expecting. The spring rolls were crispy and savory, the pho broth was spot on, without much need of additional hoisin sauce, but the best was the sizzling crepes, there aren't too many places that makes it even better looking and bigger than their advertised photo (yes McDonals and subway). The edges were crispy, the flour mixture was flavorful and the bean sprouts, meat, and shrimp fillings were just enough without making the crepe soggy. After our food came out (around 6pm, people started to come in as-if all of a sudden, the place was filling up. Im so glad we stayed because it was definitely worth it.
