First time coming to Eating Fresh located in Broad Ripple area. It's a beautiful place that feels like a modernized version of all the vietnamese restaurants I grew up going to with lanterns from the Hoi An area hung up throughout. There's plenty of seating and service was great. As I looked through the menu the dish that stood out to me was the thịt kho trứng (caramelized pork and egg rice dish). This isn't a dish that is usually in menus. It's a special dish made at home usually reserved for the lunar new year. After living away from family for a year now, this dish felt like a piece of home and comfort. The flavor of the pork egg dish is absolutely delicious. While this dish is typically supposed to be made with pork belly, chef Ricky substitutes it with pork shoulder for a more familiar taste/texture to our Midwestern community. I'm not mad honestly. The meat was so tender and pulls apart easily to eat with the rice which means it was braised long enough. I only ate half of the serving as it feels like a generous serving. I enjoyed that it was paired with slides tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and pickles veggies. The only thing missing was the nước chấm dipping sauce. The chè ba màu three color dessert is also another home away from home dish that instantly brings me back to my mom's house. The pandan jelly, red beans, coconut sauce and mung bean combine together so well and it was definitely a splurge to enjoy something so delicious. Thanks for a cozy, comforting meal. So me and my girlfriend were super excited to try this food experience from all of the TikTok posts, we actually flew in from Vegas for a few things from visiting friends and family, but also to try this restaurant. Unfortunately almost everything was disgusting. The shrimp on the stick was enjoyed by her, the egg rolls were gross. She liked the cooked octopus but I really didn't even enjoy the pho , everything was like warm or not cooked all the way, for the rice paper rolls came out and served with UNDERCOOKED PORK!! Who is eating cold pork that is pink in the middle? like the entire middle was pink! Not a small part of the pork. We noticed mold on the desert and immediately asked for the check. The best thing out of the tasting experience was the pork bon and even that was lukewarm. All in all I would say this place could be good for people who havnt tried Vietnamese food, but for someone to go as far as having egotistical writings on the wall with his name after them....like some kind of phenomenal chef....you at least have to know how to cook pork. Every meat dish was either over seasoned, or undercooked. Our server Ursula was actually the best thing and even made our day. She will make you smile super funny and loved her company. I was here with a large party tonight and loved that the chef here actually checks to make sure everyone received what they ordered. The tofu lettuce wraps are packed with flavor and crunchy texture. Possibly the best lettuce wraps I have ever had. Service was excellent. I had several refills on my iced tea without asking. The 4 stars are because more than one person at our table said both Banh Mi sandwiches and Bao Bun were dry and lacking flavor. Luckily they have a great assortment of sauces to choose from at the table. The spring rolls were a little pricey imo-you only get two and they are on the smaller side. I should have looked around me and noticed what everyone else was eating, which was the bahn mi and the pho. Instead, I got the Korean style short rib rice dish (Com Suong Dai Hang). I guess I expected the short ribs to be fall-off-the-bone, because I have had some delicious short ribs in my life that have melted in my mouth, and these were not that. The meat was very chewy. So chewy that I had to concentrate on chewing so I wouldn't choke! That said, the rice was great, and the raw vegetables that the dish came with were crunchy and fresh. I also got a small order of dim sum, and they were very good. Such flavorful little pockets! The restaurant itself if very nice but casual. It's a good date night place, but also a place to pop in and get a meal by yourself. Parking is in back, which you gotta pay for, but it's not more than a few bucks. I wanted to give this 4 stars because some of their dishes are outstanding - but on our second visit we noticed that they are always out of a lot of the items! We asked for 3 different types of bubble tea, and the server said they were out of boba...but she could've suggested we order it without boba! They had the milk tea in stock... They were out of their beef stew, lemongrass beef, crab Rangoon and some other dim sum dishes. It was quite a disappointment as we had gone with a group and we were looking forward to them trying everything out! The dishes we love from here are the lemongrass beef banh mi, beef stew, their pork sausage dish, tofu fresh rolls. The service is very slow as well. This is a fine dining experience of Vietnamese cuisine, and as a Vietnamese person I can vouch for the food being an authentic take adapted to local Hoosier palettes. After a friend highly recommended Eating Fresh I decided to give them another try. She raved about the short rib pho. I ended up coming to try and pho wasn't able to leave a review or picture because I completely devoured it. It was amazing I can't express how delicious the broth was. Usually have to doctor my pho up but I didn't have to add anything. It was so damn good. Today I had lunch with a friend we had a bahi mi and I ordered the spicy beef soup she had the beef stew. The spicy beef noodles were great loaded with beef and a nice flavor I would've liked mine to be spicier. The bahi mi was delicious the bread was baked perfectly and I loved all the pickled vegetables. The service was great the owner served us and you can tell he's very very passionate and loves what he does. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I'll start by saying the Pho was incredible. However, I can't remember a time where I've had a worse customer service experience. The restaurant was 75% full however it seems that there were 2 cooks and 1 server who was also the hostess. There was an "all you can eat" experience option but after our first round of the buffet, the only food options that were restocked were dumplings; no egg rolls, no more sandwiches, etc. Also, as part of the all you can eat you could order desserts, which we did, but they never arrived. Because of the slow and lack of service we were there for 1.5 hours and were only eating for maybe 20 minutes. While we were there we also saw many DoorDash drivers come pickup orders and leave empty handed. Will not be returning and would not recommend. The quality of the Pho doesn't outshine all the other issues. read more

We went on a Sunday right before heading for a show and we were glad to stopped by! The food was delicious and fresh and tasty. They had a Lemongrass dipping sauce on the table, that was flavorful. You mix the lemongrass with some soy sauce for dipping. The buns and dim sum were steamed and tasty. Like any small locally owned place, I think service was a little slower paced. So just make sure to have a little bit of extra time if you have to be anywhere. The restaurant was beautiful. I liked that that had the wonders of the world playing on the tv. This place is great. A very nice Vietnamese couple opened the restaurant in 2021 and struggled for bit because of the Broad Ripple construction, but their food is the real deal. We had the flank steak premium pho and the beef short rib pho, several dim sum offerings including Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), fresh garden rolls, and Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (beef & eggroll rice dish). Next time we'll try the sizzling hot plate and table grill selection. Everything was tasty, but the short rib and Har Gow were our favorites. There are some vegetarian and I believe gluten free options. Note for first timers: getting to the location is a bit tricky with some one-way circle turns ending in the back of several adjoining small neighboring parking lot rear entrances similarly situated, but once you figure it out, it's easy to return. The sign on the door says "FE" in large letters but doesn't actually say "Eating Fresh". Quirky, but the food is worth it -- this is some of the best Pho and dim sum in the area. read more

Our foodie group came to Eating Fresh for some Mediterranean/Vietnamese food for dinner one night and now I see why everyone raves about this place. Eating Fresh is a new restaurant in the heart of Broad Ripple that serves excellent Vietnamese/Mediterranean cuisine. The owner is a great guy that cooks the food at order on the line and bring it to you within a matter of minutes. The dining room is very nice with a beautiful screen of Vietnam and other countries showing their beautiful scenery. The variety of Vietnamese food is excellent with a nice selection of Pho dishes and Mediterranean food as well. I wanted some simple, so I just ordered the Chicken Noodle Pho. This was a huge bowl of greatness and wonderful comfort food. The pieces of chicken were huge,.along with the noodles, and the broth tasted just perfect. This made me smile and everyone else loved their dishes. The steak Bambini looked incredible and amazing. The only thing you will need to be aware of is the owner is also the server, so service may be slow and you may have to wait a bit for water refills or your check, but he does all the cooking and preparation, so it is worth the time and patience. I can definitely say that Eating Fresh is on the top of my list for Vietnamese food places here in Indy. It is high quality, very fresh, and worth every penny you spend at this restaurant. Had a wonderful dining experience before attending an event at the Vogue. I had looked at the menu before and was super excited for all the unique items. The thing I was most excited for was the Milk coffee. The lady explained the whole process of it and what makes it unique. It was a cool experience and the coffee was delicious. My friend and I each ordered a bao bun . It was one of the best bao buns I have ever had. I was really looking forward to trying the a couple of the unique desserts they had on the menu but we were told they were not available because they didn't have time to make them. Had a very disappointing experience here. We went for Dim Sum- unlike other Dim Sum places they do not have it cooked, they cook it to order. While that may sound like a good thing, the food took forever. We were there for 90 mins despite ordering promptly, and still had to take the desert to go. I ordered a second beer at the beginning of the meal; it never came despite asking twice for it. When we finally decided to cut bait, I asked the server to take it off the bill. Instead of an apology, I got snarky attitude from her. She also couldn't be bothered to refill our waters. And then there's the food- nasty. I usually love Bao. These stood out for tasteless filling, and being overcooked and chewy. Same for the shrimp dumplings. And the flat rice dumplings were a tasteless trainwreck. There's plenty of indoor seating and the space was clean and bright. The service was great. Ended up here on a Friday evening for devour downtown. Overall pleased with our experience. We made reservations, but didn't end up needing them. The place was nice and updated on the inside, and felt very clean. I always like when places have an open kitchen- makes me feel like they have pride in their cleanliness. We started off with the sugarcane juice- it was okay- just not my thing. Enjoyed that it was freshly squeezed though. The chicken soup was great. Packed full of flavor, and plenty of toppings. For appetizers we tried the garlic butter fried chicken wings, which were really tasty & had a perfect crust & crunch. For our entrees, we tried the spicy beef noodle, special pho & the lemon grass & chicken Banh Mi. The spicy beef noodle is absolutely delicious, it's good as is but i opted to turn up the heat a bit & added sriracha & chili oil. I did not care for the slices of pork in the dish. The special pho & banh mi were very tasty. For dessert, we had coffee flan & the honeycomb cake....we do NOT suggest either one. The texture of them both is very strange & they don't have much taste & the taste you do get it not very pleasant. In my opinion i wont come back:)) It's $37.5 before tax, not $34.5 like some of the tiktok creator said:)) The foods nothing special, when i was there some of the dish on the all you can eat menu not even there so idk why u would 37 to eat like half of the menu. I'm pretty picky about hygiene, when i was there they dont clean the table when the customer left, all the bowls and plates just sat on the table for hours until the next customer come in. This restaurant has tons of seating and is nicely decorated. This would be a great date destination I was able to park in the rear. I came in for an early Sunday dinner at 5:00 pm. I was promptly greeted and sat as at that point I was the only guest. My server took my order and I got to watch my food being made since it's an exhibition kitchen. I am going to start with the good and later get to 'needs to improve'. First I want to say that we need more Asian cuisine restaurants in this city... please! I am beyond delighted Eating Fresh is close to my home and offers something on the menu for everyone (vegetarian, kids, gluten free etc). I have dined here four times now and once was with my two small children. The good: It is family friendly with high chairs but I don't believe there is a specific children's food menu (which we never order off of at restaurants for several reasons). The interior is spacious with tons of seating and is cleaned well. There are a few huge, huge TV screens. Last we were there they had holiday scenes displayed with holiday music (kids loved that). The food is authentic Vietnamese for sure and it is fresh, just like the name implies. It is on the more expensive side of dining out options in Broad Ripple but the quality is there to match the price. The hot pot is FUN! Do it with your kids, but do it carefully because the pot is.... well... HOT! Don't forget to call in advance for all hot pot meals. Love that they have pictures of all the dishes online. This is so helpful, most especially with children. To improve: 1. Educating the staff on what gluten IS and what items contain gluten. I have had one server twice and each time this person was very clueless about gluten and kind of just shrugged off my allergy. 2. Please please please get your liquor license back. I am sure something horrible happened to have let this lapse.... my husband and I only go out to eat once a week or less and it is so nice to have a glass of wine. My wife and I drove down from Lafayette to see a show at The Vogue. We researched restaurants in the area and found Eating Fresh was not only two doors down from the venue, but, had an amazing looking menu. I called and made a reservation for 2 at 5:30 on Sunday, March 29th, 2026. We arrived on time. My wife was driving so I went in Eating Fresh to get sat ( possibly order an appetizer) while she went to park our car in the parking garage on the same block. I went in the restaurant and was immediately impressed with the decor and atmosphere. My first thought was, "Ooh. We're in for a treat." I walked to the host stand and waited a minute or so when a man behind the counter said,"Someone will be with you shortly." Perfect. It was exactly 5:30. The doors to the show we were seeing opened at 6:30 for a 7:30 show. I am disabled, so, we were wanting to get in to the show by 6:30 or 7 to better our chances of ADA seating. Not dire, but, a goal we had. I stood for five minutes before a young lady walked up and said hello. I told her my name and that I had a reservation. She checked the book, confirmed, and, looked around the dining room. At 5:30, less than 1/4 of the restaurant was occupied and only one two too actively eating, I was happy it was slower because that made me think we shouldn't have a problem getting in and out in an hour or a little more. The young lady took us to a four top that had a reservation sign on it. She say me, laid two menus down, gave me a water, and said, "someone will be with you." I sat and waited. Looked around at other tables without food, still with menus, and, looking around like I was. One other server was taking an order. Five minutes passed. My wife arrived and sat. The one waitress was still at the same ( 3 people) table. Finally, she finished that table and I saw her (I thought) coming to greet us. She walked up and said hello"Do you have a reservation?" I was confused. We did have one and the other employee who had confirmed this was nearby. I confirmed, "Yes, we do." The server did not respond but just turned and walked away, No "Would you like a drink" no "Oh, I'll be right back" no "sorry for the wait". No. She just walked away. I said to my wife, "OK. That was rude." We let it slide and began reading the large menu. Though a bit pricey, ( entrees from $15/$20 up to a Japanese Wagyu steak for $250) we were excited to try it out. The place smelled wonderful. We studied the menu and were ready to order. We waited.....and waited...and waited. I did a count of 9 other customers besides us in the restaurant. No less than 40 empty seats. It was slow. After being there for fifteen minutes, never got a drink ordered, never got asked if we'd like an appetizer,never had any employee say anything besides twice asking if we had a reservation, and, honestly, asked rather rudely imo. We got up. Walked past several empty tables and both my wife and I made eye contact with the original young lady who had checked my reservation at the host stand. She just stared, Didn't inquire why a couple had a reservation, sat for 15 minutes with no service or verbal exchange to acknowledge us. Made us sad. The menu looked incredible. The atmosphere was lovely. Prices were reasonable overall. We arrived at the Mexican restaurant next door at 5:50. Greeted politely, got a drink ordered in, asked a couple questions to the waiter about menu items, ordered two entrees, ate, finished, paid and even had a fun conversation with our server. Great service and food. We got in line for our show by 6:30. Two stars: atmosphere and intriguing menu Customer service? completely non existent With The Vogue next door I hope your staff issues get better.
