The food at Pho 9 is good, along with the service. It is very good and exceptional. Pho 9 tends to always have some sort of upbeat music going on. And they will also have things on the TV for you to watch. The reason why I am giving Pho 9 a 3 Star review is because I simply don't understand how a $15 bowl of pho turns in to almost $20. Now I totally understand having to pay taxes, where is there a place that you go that you don't have to pay tax? But I have never had to pay almost $5 dollars of tax for one bowl of noodles. So unless they add an automatic tip that people aren't aware of before ordering their food, I have no clue what's going on with the pricing system. Therefore Pho 9 gets 3/5 stars. read more

Inside is pretty small but fit my party of 11 fine at 3 different tables. The inside is a little janky with messed up paint - but it doesn't take away from the food. The portions are huge for the price - with the exception of the egg rolls. Egg rolls - Comes with 8, which is actually 4 skinny long ones cut in half. With fish sauce to dip. Crab Rangoon - basic. Filled with cream cheese and "crab" Bun dac biet - comes with grilled pork and shrimp, egg rolls, and at the bottom is tons of fresh veggies. Make sure to mix well unlike me or else you'll end up eating a salad at the bottom. Pho - all my other dining companions ordered pho. The large one is extremely large. Solid bowl of pho! The broth is very rich and full of flavor. It's so hard to find a good bowl of pho here in Denver, so this place is definitely in our rotation. We usually start off with the spring rolls or goi cuon with pork! It's so good, the meat is flavorful and they are generous with all the ingredients. Pho Dac Biet is my go too. The pho's broth was a bit lacking and the beef was a little chewy, but otherwise was good. The vermicelli was honestly some of the best I've had. So I'll eat Pho anywhere- there are def different subtleties among different type of spots from trendy to straight home cooking. Pho 88 kinda nailed both vibes- it's was clean and had a good energy. The food was delicious- I had egg rolls & spring rolls. I also had pork with rice noodle- There used to be this place in Echo Park - Los Angeles that not only turned me onto Pho in the 2000s but to this day is still the best I have ever had- however, this little spot in far north Denver reminded me so much of LA haunt. Came here returning from my vacation trip from Yellowstone since we had an pho craving driving in Denver to the airport. There isn't any Asian food remotely good in or near Yellowstone so we decided to give this place a try. Prices for a large bowl of beef pho is around $12 but has good portion. The team at Pho 88 make you feel like you have been friends for years and make small jokes with you every time they see you. They are so welcoming and I like that! The pho is freaking delicious! The broth is bomb- it is not bland and it isn't too salty. Pho 88 is not cheap with their meats portion either. I crave pho every weekend after a wild night. First time went there. Place was completely dead. Maybe because it was off hours for Lunch. Anyway staff was nice. The food however was not that great. I order a Bun Bo Hue (B7). It was not Bun Bo Hue. More ljke a pho dac biet in spicy broth. They use brisket, meatball, and fish ham. I know that is an incorrect proteins for the dish. The noodles was not cook. My friend and I decided to grab dinner for a girls night, went in and got a table around 6:20 pm. This was our first time in and we were excited to try a different place! It took about 15 minutes for our order to be taken and there were only 3 other people at the time. After being seated we saw countless times individuals who came in after us get their order taken and receive food almost immediately. We normally aren't ones to complain, considering we have both worked in the food industry and understand rushes and common mistakes. After an hour went by we decided to finally go up and ask why our food wasn't ready. They gave us little explanation and basically said it would be right out, but I overheard them saying they forgot to put our order in. Despite passing our empty table countless times. At this point anyone would be frustrated, so we were hoping the quality of the food would make up for it. Unfortunately the food was not up to par. When we went up to pay I was hoping they would comp at least our appetizer that took an hour to get or be a little more sincere. Sadly that did not happen. So I just left this restaurant and can say I won't ever be going back, which is unfortunate as I just moved in nearby and love pho. From the moment I walked in nobody really acknowledged me and after 10 minutes of waiting, someone finally came to take my order. I ordered a drink, appetizer, and a bowl of pho. Then the server went right to the next table which was a group of 8 and took their order. In less than 10 minutes I got my appetizer and drink but had no cutlery to eat my appetizer. After 5 minutes or so I got some utensils to start eating. After another 10 minutes I noticed that the group of 8 started getting their food. I just brushed it off and waited. Another 10 minutes goes by and everybody at the other table has their food and are happily eating and I'm sitting there sipping on my drink. Another 10 minutes goes by and I've had enough. After a long day of work I just wanted to have some pho before going home and this experience left me with such a bad taste, I just got up and went to pay. After I paid, as I was about to leave the manager asks me to wait and finally noticed I hadn't gotten my main dish. He says he'll void my bill but I told him to keep it because I went in there to eat, not keep my money. I don't want $17, I wanted a nice dinner after a long day. During this whole experience not one person came over to ask if everything was okay or provide any explanations to me. This place has great reviews but I guess the excellent service doesn't apply when you go alone or maybe they just didn't like me. They clearly have a large set of regulars that the owners and staff know and appreciate which is a sign of a restaurant worth visiting in my opinion. At the recommendation of the owners, I tried the wings as a starter. They were amazing with the sauce they put on there. This is not at all what good pho should taste like. Pho is all about the broth, and the Pho 88 broth tasted like commercial beef boullion. Way too salty and none of the deep, rich, earthiness of good pho. I highly doubt they are cooking beef marrow bones down for hours to make proper broth. No star anise, none of the flavor that makes pho amazing. Also ordered crab wontons and dumplings, both of which were mediocre and tasted like frozen. We just moved up to this area from South Federal, which has Denver's best pho joints like Pho 95 and Pho Duy. Pho 88 isn't even close. If they would actually MAKE their own broth, it would be a whole other ballgame. That this place gets such high ratings is unreal to me, and makes me wonder if any of the people who left reviews have ever even had real pho broth. I've been meaning to write this review for a while my husband and I came here one night at 8pm after both finishing a 12 hour shift we were greeted by a nice man who just smiled and laughed non stop this amazing girl took our order and another man came to confirm the order both big smiles and laughter the entire dinner they'd check on us smiling and laughing with the rest of the customers as well it was such a great dinner we had a P7 and P6 with hot wings and spring rolls and a boba with crystal balls it was a good laugh and an amazing dinner. 5 stars for the amazing customer service amazing food and amazing vibes! I am going with 1 stars because the first time I went here I had a good experience and the second time it was one of the worst dining experiences. After recently moving to CO, I have been on the lookout for a new Pho place. And after moving to Westminster Pho 88 seemed like a good candidate. I was greeted by a mature woman who graciously sat us at a table by the window. I ordered my standard Bun Thit Nuong, with pork, shrimp, and chicken. Side Note: I get Bun Thit Nuong 95% of the time I go to Vietnamese Pho restaurants. I have had this dish 100s of times from coast to coast, I even have made it myself a few times. The Bun at Pho 88, passed all my tests; the meat was hot, the noodles were cold, good quality/flavor in the meats, fresh vegetables, and the fried spring roll was crispy. Happy days, I thought I had just found my new place! Fast forward 2 weeks, our second visit to Pho 88, for our usual. We are not greeted at the door, instead we are directed by a young man waving his hand from the back of the house. Two menus get dropped on the table, there was no greeting or pleasantries. Same when we gave our order, no acknowledgment that he even heard it before walking off. My wife had order a side of thai basil. When the food arrived it was a far far cry from our previous visit. The perfect example of how this dish should not be served, was now sitting infront of me. The chicken had the peculiar consistency of microwave use. But, all the meats were cold, the noodles were warm, and sticking together. The side of thai basil was forgotten and when my wife asked for the basil again, the waiter was not pleased to be reminded even though he had clearly forgotten it. I could go into a much longer diatribe about how uncomfortable it was to eat there that night. But I'll sum it up by saying that it was not hard to hear the waiter's rudeness and other patrons unhappiness while we tried to eat what we could of our food. When the bill came we expressed our displeasure with the food and service, even offering all the uneaten chicken as proof to the disastrous meal. All we got was an insincere apology.
