Tiny space tucked in a strip mall near Walmart off 405, basic pho restaurant set up. The menu was full of pho, fried rice, and noodle options. Service was fast and friendly and a healthy amount of take-out orders were served in the short time we were there. Cute little pho spot with the friendliest service! It's located in the giant shopping plaza anchored by a Walmart. I came to get my windshield fixed and had lunch here while I waited for my car. There were a lot of ppl eating here. I ordered a regular sized tofu pho (with meat broth) and a side of shrimp spring rolls. The food came out really fast. The spring rolls were fine and the peanut sauce was pretty tasty. The pho was good - the broth was good and noodle were cooked well and I like the soft fried tofu and veggies. It hit the spot to have noodle soup on a gloomy day (which there are so many in Seattle...). I also ordered a grilled pork banh mi to go to eat later as a snack at work. It was yummy but the fillings inside - the meat and pickled veggies - were skimpy. It was a small sandwich and less filling than at other banh mi places in the city. The bread was just ok too. It was only $4.50 so pretty cheap but I would come here for banh mi. The service was so nice here that it made for a pleasant lunch experience. This is my go to Pho spot in Renton. The only issue is the location. You might get prison shanked in the parking lot and there are quite a few miscreants and rude people loitering around. I ordered Rice with pork chop. The meat is blank and the fish sauce is so so. They mixed too much water with fish sauce so it doesn't keep the taste anymore. They should add more spice or cook the pork better because this isn't good. I couldn't finish it since I'm full but the food is not good. I read a few reviews in yelp, I came to this place because it's 4 stars but it's not what I expect. I found some reviews are pretty similar saying the food is "bland" which is obviously not only with pork chop but with most food here in general. I stopped here on a whim, as I had stopped next door to cash some Christmas lottery tickets. Place was rather busy, so I figured it must have a descent reputation. I ordered and sat down to wait for the to-go meal I had just paid $9.90 for. A few minutes later, as get the container inside a bag and walk to my car. The order was not for me, but the package seemed very light, so I opened the container to see the contents inside. I was very surprised to see a container that looked 2/3 empty. The portion would be fine for a meal that was accompanied by 2 sides, like a meat and veggies...but as a solo plate, it was comparable to a kid's meal. When you open see a portion of just chicken friend rice, you expect a nice size portion, as it is the entire meal. To pay $10 for a half empty container with no signs of chicken is a scam. As far as the food goes, I have been here twice during lunch already and both times very consistently received great pho with delicious, piping hot broth. I get #11 and #12 (Pho tai). Very consistent, perhaps a notch up from "Pho Than Brothers" in Settle. Value is decent. $8.50 for a large pho is pretty good. But given a non-Seattle minimum wage location in Renton, I thought 3.5 was a fair assessment given the food and its various contextual factors. For what you get in return, the price is what you would expect. Not a rip off, not a bargain. Service is terse but friendly. The young gals there serving are very friendly but they are table turnover machines - during lunch, I estimate their table turnover rate is roughly about 3x per hour. There were tons of people going in and out during lunch and they have to be fast and furious (and friendly). There were probably only about 12 two top tables (plus or minus), total capacity around 24 person spots. I understand what they're trying to accomplish and they are doing a great job. They're not really there for small talk though, and that's fine. Located in a strip mall with lots of parking spaces, but limited availability due to the sheer number of people cycling in and out of that area. It came out piping hot, the broth was oily and had good flavor. Meat was just alright. Restaurant was a little dirty and the neighborhood isn't great.
