Been there in the past. Usually not saddened. Usually was impressed. This time not. Disappointed this was a $20 sandwich. That's a lot of bread vs the ingredients. Very little meat. Veggie coverage sucks. Yes I ate it, but had to add my own meats and extra veggies to make it thick and filling. Will not return to support this local business unless it's made right. First visit and I placed an order to go. Place inside is rather spartan and not somewhere you want to hang out. Staff was very friendly. I ordered a small turkey sub and some potato salad. They have a small cooler with drinks, but they're all sugared drinks other than water and Diet Coke. The taste of the sub was fine, yet the meat was sparse on the sub. And although the baguette roll was fresh, I was not a fan of the baguette for use as a sub roll as it was too thick and heavy. The potato salad had lots of great flavor and was the star of the show. I've been wanting to try Tubs for a while now because I love a sandwich, and I'm so glad I did! Tubs has so many options on the menu that all look really fun. I ended up with the Grinder since I like both ham and pepperoncinis and I thought it would be a more basic first sub to try. The toasted bread with all the fillings was so warm, satisfying, and tasty. The price is reasonable as well. I am super excited to come back and try other options! Tubs never disappoints. I know summer is here when we grab a few sandwiches and head to the beach. So many options. The phoenix and the Hawaiian are my go tos! The potato salad is pretty good too. I ordered the Tubs Trio with a small Cajun Turkey sandwich with Ranch for dipping and it was delicious. The sandwich had the right amount of savory and spicy for my taste. I included a soda and chips, and the entire meal was under $14. I had to wait about 7 minutes for my food, but each sandwich is hand crafted and made to order. The employee at the counter who took my order was helpful and knowledgeable. There is plenty of seating inside, but there are also chairs outside. FRESH BAKED BAGUETTE that they do for their subs -- this is their speciality/ go-to! Tender, soft, delicious, like I could eat how many of these! I got the French Dip! This was marvelous and I LOVED the au jus sauce. BF got the funky bird. Prices are a little up there for a small sandwich so if you're really hungry, go for the large. They cater too! We went during lunch and ordered two sandwiches. It was really busy but only took about 10 minutes to get our sandwiches. Everyone was friendly. I thought the sandwiches were pretty good. They have nice quality ingredients. The bread isn't too hard, but still nice and sturdy. I thought it was a little pricey for the amount you get. I have been eating at TUBS for many years, and will miss the lake city location, however the trip to Lynnwood is well worth it for one of the many specialty sandwiches they carry. Fantastic subs! The bread is where it's at. I love how it's almost like a toasted sub sandwich, but really, it's just the bread that seems like it's fresh out of the oven. It's like a soft yet crispy outside strong enough to hold the contents in the middle. I got the special which came with turkey, bacon, a lemon vinegrette, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The sandwich was delicious, but there wasn't a lot of meat. My boyfriend got the California sub and really enjoyed that too. Small portion of meat in his sandwich too.
