This is a solid food option in Olney now that I've finally given it a try. I didn't have the pho but had a few of the grill options. The spring rolls are really good as was the lemon grass pork. They have excellent shrimp fried rice and they give you pretty big shrimp. The shaking beef was meh. Portion sizes aren't huge but enough to fill you up. Good food, nice portions, but curiously, the soft drinks are a per-glass policy- you get a full charge for a refill. Not even a discount. That turned me off enough to think about going elsewhere next time. Until I remembered that a lot of Pho restaurants serve you out of cans, so basically, it's similar. Anyway. I like this place. It is a bit tucked away since I had always been to the shopping center portion at the bottom of the hill, but this place has its charm. We were aiming for a quick bite to eat and it worked out well. There were not a lot of people who were there at the time and we were able to order, sit, eat, and leave within 15 minutes. They were really quick to deliver the food. I like that part. The soup base and the noodles were on the lighter side so if you like that less-salty taste then, it is a good place to try. I also had the summer roll, which was about the same everywhere else. The peanut sauce is lighter as well than the other places. It makes for a nice meal to have at the end of a long day as you do not want something weighing you down by the end of it. This makes the whole experience nice. Decided to give this place a try after noticing they had Banh Mi's on the menu. Worst idea ever lol. I went two separate times and both sandwiches had very stale bread that crumbled like a Nature Valley bar. Yesterday was the third time I got a sandwich and I had to tell the hostess on the phone to make sure the bread was fresh. I went to pick up my order and and i check in the bag and i make mention of the bread being stale the last couple of times and how disappointing it was. instead of an apology, i get back-sassed about how "if the bread is toasted then it should be crispy" implying that they dont know the difference between stale bread and toasted bread. then she tells me that she just had a banh mi herself and that it was good that day. absolutely unacceptable customer service. then, she says that if it was stale then i should have brought it back.... ??? what kind of answer is that?? i live 30 minutes away and i shouldnt have to make sure the bread is fresh lol. just apologize for the lack of service and ensure that it wont happen again - its that simple. the cherry on top is there is someone always in the corner of the hostess stand eating food while another is helping customers. what a joke dont go here. read more

We have been here many times for a great quick bite. Pho on a cold day is the best. However last night was terrible. I think it may be under new ownership since things have changed/slipped. I had the pork and spring rolls with cold noodles dish and the pork was all shredded up not like it used to be. I even told the staff and said it was very skimpy portion and we nodded and I expected a small portion was on the way. Nope. The rolls were overcooked and again not very good. should have been spring rolls but I think that too had meat in it. Wife had the veggie Pho and that was fine. I stopped in here with a friend for my first official meal in Maryland after moving back from the West Coast and settling in. I liked the interior of the place because it looked modern and well-kept. You can choose wherever you'd like to sit, but you have to order at the counter first. The employees were very friendly, and they brought the food out quick. I ordered the #5, which came with: brisket, flank, fatty flank, tendon, and tripe. I'm used to the brisket being rare/medium-rare when it arrives, and then having it eventually cooked while sitting in the broth. It looked like it was already cooked when it got to me, but I think it was fine since the flavor was still there and the meat was a bit tender. The tendon was clear and soft, unlike some other pho places I've been to. The tripe was exactly how I like it in my pho: nice and crunchy! The broth wasn't too salty, and the green onions were plentiful. The noodles were a bit too soft for my taste (in pho, I like my noodles to be more on the al dente side), but it was still pretty good! I also ordered a chicken and shrimp skewer from their grilled menu. Both skewers are a good appetizer to start with, and they're cooked to perfection. They both had a subtle sweetness to it, which complimented the char it got from the grill. I had an enjoyable experience here for my "welcome" meal back to the east coast. For friendly service and decently priced bowls of soup, I would recommend this place. read more

Just stopped in for my first visit to this lovely little Pho place. We started with the Pork Roll appetizer and loved it! There's a crunchy little surprise inside and a tasty strip of pork. They accommodated my veggie-heavy, no noodle pho ga request perfectly. And my partner enjoyed his lemongrass pork. I am happy to be writing this review update for Pho & Grill. I am giving them a 3.5 stars if that's allowed. After a few months since our last visit, we decided to return to see how they are this past Sunday. I definitely see an improvement in the portion and quality of their pho! :) First off, props to the bearded man behind the counter. His bright smile and warm greetings made us feel so welcomed as we walked in. I really appreciate that. Now, back to the pho. I wanted to test my theory and if you reference my first review, you would know that I had some issues with their meat portion. In one of my previous visits, I remember I got a 'customized' bowl with steak and tripe. So I thought, maybe since I got tripe (which wasn't much either), perhaps that's why my meat allotment got thinned out. This time, I ordered a steak only bowl with meat on the side per usual since I don't like my meat overcooked in the hot soup. When my pho came out I was shocked to see the meat portion is 4x what I got last time. I don't know if my theory is true or if the management decide to be a little more generous or someone read my review and reflected on the issue.... whatever it may be, I am happy to see this improvement. This definitely won my confidence back and I am definitely looking forward to coming back again very soon. Hopefully, I will also get to try their rice dishes. read more

Oh people, please do not get my latest addiction such low ratings!!!! Yeah, I know there is hardly anything on the menu I can eat (pescetarian), but the Seafood soup is worth your visit! heck! I even had it last night!...walk in and don't order anything else...you will be soooooo hooked! The place is very clean and nice...the bathroom is very nice with nice liquid soap!.... back to the soup: a) walk in with comfortable pants b) Once you have your soup in front of you, add a few drops of Sriracha and squeeze a 1/2 teaspoon of that brown sauce (hoisin). Add the peanuts, basil leaves and sprouts.Stir c) fill your spoon helped by the chopstics and start devouring the most amazing soup ever! d) Leave a tip at the table, I DO! This place was very clean. But the first thing I thought was: where are all my Asian people? And why is Tom petty playing in the background? This place was recommended by one of my brothers so my other brothers and parents came to eat. They have a simple menu of pho with different meats, a seafood soup, appetizers, and meats off the grill served with either rice or vermicelli noodles. I had ordered the pho with round eye. The broth was not bad; however, I was not fond of the meat. It tasted overcooked or somehow very dry. The summer rolls were very good especially the pork summer roll. My father was in the mood for grilled meat so he ordered the grilled pork with vermicelli. We were expecting slices of pork which had been grilled. Instead, he had ground pork which was flattened into rectangular pieces and then grilled. Essentially he had a grilled pork burger. It tasted okay but was still disappointing from what was expected. He then ordered some flan which was actually very good and to his liking. And he is very particular about his flan. I think it was a lighter tasting flan that jiggles and melts in your mouth. Anyways, if you are hungry for pho and you happen to be in the area, it's not bad. But i would not drive out of my way to come here. read more

First of all when you go inside, you find your own table, and then make your way up to the "order here" counter. Someone then delivers it over to your table. The place was clean, plenty of tables, and not very busy on a Wednesday lunch time. Because it's in the shopping center, there's plenty of parking. We really love Pho, but unfortunately this broth was really bland, and the meat was way overcooked, too thick and rubbery. Their fried spring rolls were a bit burnt when they brought them out, and a little dry, however some Sriracha added to the dipping sauce covered it up ;-) My 8 year old daughter liked her shrimp & rice dish, and the side carrot and radish on each plate was yummy. Both kids liked their bubble teas & my Vietnamese Iced Coffee was good. Getting water was a little tough - one glass for a table of 3, and no refills. Luckily the soup was so bland that even with Sriracha and plum sauce added repeatedly, not much water was needed. Probably won't go back, (We love Pho Real in Burtonsville and the now closed Pho Huang in Aspen Hill). My work takes me all over Montgommery county and I have eaten in most every restaurant there is. The Pho is better than I have had in any other Pho restaurant and I have found them to be Exceptionally clean. Never seen a bug and never had a dirty plate or dish. I was in the Gaithersburg store a month back and was very happy to know that the local health inspector was ordering lunch! REALLY? Kinda says something! I wonder if she eats at the chinese buffet next door? Unlikely! I'm learning to understand the menu but can be somewhat confusing without pictures. The service was a bit slow to start but it's understandable because a lot of people had just come in and it seemed like there were only two people working the front. The portion was very generous and it was very flavorful. I asked for mine to be with rice instead of vermicelli (although my boyfriend had it with the vermicelli and enjoyed it all the same).
