I ordered two spring rolls for 8$ and they are so tiny. I have never paid that much for a spring roll that looks cut in half. I ordered through Yelp for pick up and I had been waiting for almost 30minutes and it still didn't say my order was ready and i had another 20 minutes to wait through the app. So I went in to check and when I went to ask about my food it was sitting there. I've worked in food for a long time, so knowing how this system works, the service through the pick up process was not okay. Adorable little place. I came with my friend Vivian after a little afternoon drinking. We shared a tiger roll which came with a complimentary salad. So so. It's okayyyyy. Love the location right in uptown, great to walk around the shops after you eat. But this Asian place is kind of ghetto ish to be honest. It's pho and sushi which apparently is not a good idea to combine because they aren't good at either. The sushi was just okay. Same with the pho. And then other items are weird because it doesn't really make sense which style of food it falls under. For example the mango salad... It's literally some weeds, sliced mango, and sliced avocado. Very plain and unsatisfying. Felt like I should just go chimp on some grass outside, that's how bland it was. The sushi had some flavor which was good. But wasn't the freshest. Service was off, as we ordered and the lady brought us someone else's order at first. And we had to explain to her (she had trouble understanding English) that this was not what we ordered. So overall just meh. Sadly my friend likes this place and it's close to her apartment so I'm guessing we will try again sometime. Not looking forward to it. I was in the mood for some sushi with my family so we decided to hit up Pho n Roll. It was a Tuesday night during COVID when we were still allowed to eat outside. It was cold but the heaters and hot tea helped. We order a little of everything. Tempura, soup, and sushi and I think we over did it lol. You never think of a pho and sushi place would be that good but it just goes to show you don't ever judge a book by the cover. The sushi was so good. We got the Whittier Roll, of course, baked scallops and a few fresh fish rolls and all of them were so tasty. You can tell all of the fish was fresh and how much attention to detail the sushi chefs are putting into their craft. The staff was so attentive and very helpful with recommendations on the menu. This is an interesting place to dine in. It's a fusion of Vietnamese & Japanese food under 1 roof!. I was skeptical at first but my friend said to be adventurous & give it a try. The restaurant is located in Uptown Whittier. It was a nice drive the restaurant. There's diagonal parking along the street but I can see that it's a busy area during lunch time. There many different eateries all along the street (I will come back & try other places another time). It's lunch time & there were no front parking so I drove around to the back. Low & behold, there's a parking lot with 3 Hrs. of free parking. That's great! There's an entrance in the back. Just walk up a flight of stairs through a red door in the middle. As you walk in, you'll be in a hallway & kitchen to your left, restroom doors to your right. Keep walking fwd & you'll enter the dining area. We were greeted by several staffs. The server day is down at a booth. The restaurant has big pictures of rolls & food that they serve there. They all looked very good. Looking over the menu, the first thing that caught my eyes was the Lunch Specials. I'm always down for that. The menu offered lots of dishes, appetizers, sushi platters, & rolls. They also have daily veer & Sake specials. I opted for the Pho & Crunchy Rolls & so did my friend. The Specials tamed from $7.99- $9.99. You can order 4 or 8 pieces. I choose the House Special Pho. For my drink, Passion Tea Lemonade. The drink came out fairly quickly & I could smell the Passion Tea. The drink was very refreshing, not to sweet, just right. My friend ordered iced tea. Even with the ice tea, the tea was very fragrant. Next came the salad. It was a simple iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots in Soy Sauce/Vinagrette. It was light, enough to get your palette going. The Crunchy Rolls arrived. They looked pretty & inviting! Lastly, the Pho came with the plate of bean sprouts, sliced jalapeños, lime, & cilantro ( No Thai Basil ). They were in square shaped bowl. Broth was clear & light, not a strong aroma of Pho like at other Pho restaurants but it was good. The server stopped by our table several times to check on us, brought us refills (she messed up on our refills by giving us different drinks) overall, service, food, & experience war pleasant. I love this place! I personally use to work here almost 4 years ago! But Moved back to LA. I have tried places in LA and none compare to there pho!! The broth, the noodles, and the tender meat is all so good! I will make the hour drive just to get this amazing taste! There sushi is good! There appetizers! Honestly when I use to work there I not once had a customer tell me something wasn't good! Anything you get there is good!! I've been to Pho & Roll on 2 occasions. - 1st Time Baked Scallop: Undercooked & Tasted Burnt. How is this possible? I think that another roll must be have been baking at the same time that mine was put into the oven. I could smell a lot of burning smoke in the restaurant, but I didn't think too much about it at the time. Then when my food came, I could smell the smoke all over my baked scallop roll. I took a bite into it, and the roll was actually lukewarm and not cooked all the way, so I'm assuming they pulled out my roll at the same time that the other one was beginning to burn. Not only that, but there was a charred burnt taste from the other roll, so I couldn't take another bite of it. -2nd Beef Pho: If you live in the Whittier Area, or you've never had Pho before, please don't think this is good pho! Amazing!!! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to this neat restaurant while killing time to go see the Guardians of the Galaxy movie at the cinema nearby. We just wanted to see the menu and what they served. I never had pho before so I thought it would be an interesting experience to try with my hubby. :) We were greeted by a really nice waitress who seated us and were immediate with the order. My boyfriend and I ordered the lunch specials. I ordered pho with the crunch roll, he ordered one with a spring roll with shrimp. I ordered milk tea boba. The milk tea boba was so yummy! Then when we got to our main entrees it was super yummy. The pho was so light and warm. Super good to my sensitive tummy. They were also good portions. Not to mention the crunch roll was AMAZING. I havent been to this sushi place for a while Everytime I have been customer service have been great except this Saturday. I came with my boyfriend and I for a date. We got sat right away which was great until they rushed us to order the minute we sat down. We needed to look over the menu which had A LOT of options. However after 25 minutes no one came back to take our orders. We then had to wave a server down and told them we were waiting for a long time which she said "you should've waved at us" NO your customers should not be having to wave your server down to take your order. She continued to say the same exact thing the rest of the night until our food came she said it about 7 times. She comped my Coke that was it. After ordering she gave us 5 rolls. We only orders 3 so we assumed the other two were complementary due to the long wait. Our server did not say anything when she did drop off the rolls that's why we assumed. After eating the rolls I looked at one of them and found it had cream cheese. My boyfriend is allergic to cream cheese and ate the roll not knowing it did have it since our server didn't tell us what she was giving us. He ate about 4 of them. Yes he did throw up the sushi once we got to the car! After eating basically the whole spider roll only leaving 2 rolls we wanted to take them home. So we asked for a box, again the server did not come until 15 min after we asked. It was towards closing time so I don't understand why it took her that long. When she brought the boxes she was very persistent in putting them in the boxes for us but we told her no cuz we already ate it and didn't want her touching it after touching everything else. Once she noticed that two rolls were not ours she said "that's not yours! That wasn't your roll!" We were confused cuz she didn't say anything at all before. So she aggressively snatched it from us before we could put it in out to go boxes which only had 2 left but what she said was very rude and unprofessional. She came back immediately watching us put our rolls away and practically taking the plate out of my boyfriend hand before he can put it down. I have been a server/Lead for 7+ years I understand mistakes happen however this server was rude and unprofessional and didn't handle our scenario the right way. I also understand it's COVID times but in that instant you shouldn't take already eaten/touched rolls away from the customer if it was Your accident. we enjoyed the area but unfortunately probably won't be coming back. read more

I love this place...service is great, place is always clean and nice. There is a beer special every day of the week. Prices are reasonable (their lunch special, you cannot beat $6.99-$8.99! I recommend the burrito roll, it is SO tasty and filling. I mainly come here for pho..I am picky when it comes to pho, the broth is different everywhere and I love it here.They give plenty of noodles on it as well. The ambience is casual, nice seating and lighting, always playing the latest songs.. There are t.v's so if you ask nicely they will change to the game that is playing :) .it was a great addition to Uptown. Just a tip, they always have the AC blasting so bring a coat :) read more

Went there for a quick "To Go" order and for what I paid, I thought I might have the wrong order. OMG they gave me like 2 bags. I had bought 1 Chicken bento box, and it came with soup, salad, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Regular Egg Roll, Rice, Tempura, and I'm probably forgetting something else other than the chicken. I had like 2-3 meals from it. Chicken was good - really big pieces and fresh. All was great, however probably best if I ate it there. Tempura wasn't too bad just would have liked a more panko feel. It was very bland and lacking in flavour. Not your usual authentic Vietnamese beef noodle soup. Your not gonna get all the fixings that come with a regular bowl of pho. The service was very friendly but the poor guy was the only one working the floor and tried his best to help all the customers.
