My daughter first told me that Pho Avina was one of her Vietnamese friend's favorite places to get Pho. I would have gotten a bowl except it was mid-day. So, we settled on fried vegetable eggs rolls and a mango boba tea. They were both fantastic. This is the first place in Phoenix that served a whole large leaf of lettuce for me to wrap my egg roll and dipping sauce. This is the way I was taught to eat Vietnamese egg rolls. The rice paper skin was crisp. The filling was flavorful. I did not miss the meat. Our bubble tea was also very good. The pearls were perfectly prepared with enough chew and still soft. Place is amazing, the broth is so good. The cashier is always so nice and helpful. She knows exactly who I am when I call and always gets my order right. And any problems she fixes them right way or on my next visit. She even lets me run back and forth next door to have sake bombs lol. This place came recommended by a friend and decided to give this place a try on a chilly cloudy perfect weather for pho day. Plenty of parking in the plaza which is always a win. I ordered the pork egg rolls and pho with brisket and round eye steak. And of course, boba milk tea. The egg rolls were pretty small and tasted okay. The soup broth was tasty however with plenty of meat and definitely more than enough noodles! The boba was also great with good black milk tea (not watered down and sugary) And the boba was soft and chewy. Overall great place for pho and boba. The food came out quickly and portions were delicious, huge, and definitely worth the price. One of the best vermicelli bowls that I've had, and my mother liked her pho. Pho Avina is good place to get pho, bobas, and banh mi. Came in around 7 pm to get couple of sandwiches Togo for next day, but found out they stop making banh mi at 3 pm. I will have to remember that next time. So we decided on pork chop rice plate and honey dew boba. The rice plate was exactly what I expected. The meat had lots of seasoning and very tender. The nicest people! Last time we were there the owner's son came by and he is the cutest thing ever. The guy who usually services us is all smiles and friendliness. My boyfriend always gets the large bowl of pho and I honestly have no idea how he eats it all. I've yet to finish a regular sized bowl of pho. The boba and soups are delish! I tried one of the spicy ones last time and it was the perfect blend of flavor and and spice, yum. Looked empty when I got inside, but quickly filled up with people. They have a busy take-out business, but finding a table for dine-in shouldn't be hard. A popular place to stop for solo lunch (at least when I went- late in the afternoon). I did not get the pho, so I can't speak on that, but their spring rolls were amazing, and I highly recommend getting a dish with BBQ pork- you will be missing out otherwise. There's definitely something for everyone... even people who "don't like Vietnamese food". This restaurant also sells boba and smoothies, which you can order while sitting down to eat or as a to-go item. They've got plenty of interesting flavors you can't get anywhere else, and even the smoothies by themselves are great value. Give this place a try! You won't regret it. read more

Pho noodles were soggy. I eat a lot of pho and I felt the broth was TOO hot . This resulted in the meat being basically fully cooked by the time it got to my table and the noodles were soggy. The customer service was great! I asked for another bowl but realized the broth was too hot and after letting it cool a few minutes I was right back to soggy noodles. Several tables were not bussed to the point of not knowing which table was free to sit at because they were all dirty. Our table we sat at as well still had food on it and wasn't wiped down well. I've been coming here for years and the service is so good! I believe this is a family owned restaurant, the owner always comes up and checks on us. The food is delicious. I *specifically* asked if their macarons were homemade before ordering. They have a TV with pictures of macarons on them, and they did indeed look homemade. My first red flag was the flavors she listed off. I should've known. When I open my package, they are 100% without a doubt the Great Value macarons from Walmart. How am I so sure? The only good thing about Pho Avina is the fact that it's clean. Besides that everything falls a bit short; in terms of service and food. Came in looking for a new Vietnamese spot to try and to curb our Vietnamese cuisine and boba/snow craving. The restaurant is clean and spacious, not too many people were dining at the time of arrival but quickly filled up. I ordered the Clear Rice Noodles with soup on the side (Hu Tieu Saigon). It's a noodle dish that comes with bean sprouts, onions, clear rice noodles, slices of bbq pork, pieces of imitation crab, shrimp and chives. The noodles are tossed in a sweet soy and comes with a side of broth (chicken). The dish was lacking in flavor and portion. Even with chili sauce and a spritz of lemon, the dish was lackluster and just had a sweetness to it. It was 35% onion and bean sprouts. Totally not a satisfying nor did it taste close to what Hu Tieu Saigon should taste like. We were given a plate of veggies and the cilantro was wilted and the plate looked limp as if sitting out for past it's prime. The service was a bit spotty, it was good at first and kind of awkward. A few customers ended up leaving because they weren't being helped though there was a good amount of staff available. At this point I didn't order boba/snow dessert because I didn't think the food or service was good. Price is decent if you're looking for a mediocre bowl of noodles and slow service, but you can get better quality Vietnamese food elsewhere. Stopped by to get some pho and was really not pleased with our visit. We had been here a few times but granted it had been awhile. Half the things on their menu they were out of because they "were going to close for the holidays". I guess that was suppose to mean they didn't order food since they were going to close?! We ordered the snoh and had asked for extra toppings. They gave us so much snoh and VERY little toppings (as you can see in pic below). Maybe it was just not the time to go since it was a couple days before Christmas, but if your not going to care about the food you serve before the holidays then you should just don't close for that time, just an opinion. This review is just for the shaved snow ice. I saw pics and heard other foodies talk about they have new desserts to try. So after Tomo, we decided to drive up North for dessert. Snow that is. I ordered the coconut flavor with light condense milk and wafers. The coconut snow ice is cream and had good flavored, but the condense milk was WAY too sweet. This restaurant is amazing. The service was awesome and friendly and the food couldn't have been better. Walking in we were greeted promptly by a very nice staff memeber. Our server came by to take our order and had great insight into the dishes and what would be a better choice and even felt comfortable enough to joke around and make it a fun experience. They have two sizes for their Pho the lunch which is a large portion and the dinner which is even larger. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious.
