Great pho restaurant in the area. Can come here after k1, outdoor movie theater or the skating rink. It's also right off the freeway for a quick bite on the way home from a long drive. Menu has a large selection from traditional viet dishes to Chinese dishes to modern fusion dishes. The banh xeo tacos were great. It can be a meal on its own. The fried chicken wings were seasoned well. A plate comes with 8 wings. The noodle dishes come really big, so you can probably split that with another person. The pho saté was delicious. Haven't been to this place in over a decade since there are so many pho and Vietnamese choices in Sac. The food was absolutely delicious. It's even better than when I remembered it. Absolutely delicious!! This is my second time coming here and I'm always so happy with how the food tastes, the portion, the price, and the atmosphere! I am a regular customer and have been for more than 25 years! This week I'm more regular than normal than my second visit in 3 days! There are lots of Vietnamese, restaurants and another one in the area that has insane reviews, but this one is better and always has been. I absolutely love their Pho, Bun and stirfry! This 3-star review is from ordering through Uber Eats and getting delivered. Will probably need to do another Yelp review for when I actually eat at the restaurant in person. My husband and I were sick and ordered pho from here. We ordered here before but not for their pho. We ordered 2 large Pho Ga and 2 Thai Tea drinks through Uber Eats. The broth wasn't as hot as it should've been to be able to cook the noodles thoroughly, but that's probably because it was sitting in a bit waiting to get picked up and delivered. The portion from noodles to chicken were off, I had way more chicken than noodles and prefer it to be equal. I also only got 1 lime to put in my pho when I've usually always gotten 2 limes so this was a first. Overall, the pho was alright by the time it got delivered and we started eating it. I'm sure if my husband and I ate at the restaurant when it's more fresh, it would probably taste way better. The best pho at its price point in my opinion. Combined with the great service time, kind waiters, cozy & clean atmosphere, and consistent food quality, my girlfriend and I find ourselves coming back to this place every time we're craving Vietnamese food. The only time my pho wasn't consistent was about an hour before closing time; my noodles were still cooked perfectly, but their length wasn't as long as they usually are & stay stuck together. I would also say they're busier around standard dinner times but they don't make you wait long. If they do, the front of the store claims to give you free egg rolls if you wait longer than 20 minutes. Overall, the flavors were decent but nothing particularly special. The fish sauce here was milder compared to other places, and the overall seasoning was lighter as well. Tried out this place because it's a favorite of our families. The salt and pepper calamari and salt and pepper short ribs are delicious! 10/10 would recommend getting those dishes. I've tried them at other vietnamese chinese restaurants and they do not compare at all to the ones here. The flavour is so pronounced in the best way. We also tried the combination chow fun. The noodles were but i felt like it was lacking a little flavour. We also tried the pho with rare beef and meatballs. We liked how thin the beef was and thought the meatballs were delicious. The flavor of the broth was good, but I've definitely had better tasting pho broth. Nothing bad about the flavor, it was just mid. Decided to come to Pho Bac Hoa Viet (PBHV) to introduce the SO's mom (who is in her 80s!!!) to pho for the first time. I think it was a success! Located in its own shady spot nearby the K1 Speed, PBHV firstly intrigued me with its extensive menu. I wanted to find a pho spot that also did some sort of diy wrap or banh xeo, plus offered che. It was a no brainer then that we would come here for all three (bingo!)! The inside is nicely decorated - lots of dark wood, natural light, and surrounding foliage during our visit on this sunny day. We were quickly seated in a booth and offered waters by one of the aunties wearing a "Pho Real" t-shirt. We ended up ordering: Grilled pork spring rolls - These were a bit loosely wrapped, but tasty. Rare steak + fatty brisket pho - The SO liked it but said it wasn't better than the pho place we frequent in Modesto. Chicken pho - Since it was the in-law's first time with pho, we went with something basic. She seemed to really enjoy the Thai basil accompaniment the most. In the end, I think she liked it, but not as much as she likes ramen (also a recent new food for her!) Banh xeo - This was HUGE, crispy, and filled with lots of goodies. I've been here twice for lunch and don't think I'll give them a third try. First time, I ordered a Bahn Mi and egg rolls. The lighting is warm, it just has a comfortable atmosphere. The food is also very good I started with two of the pork spring rolls, also known as fresh rolls. I loved the fresh rolls, because they are not fried. There was a good amount of pork, and the other fillings played very well with the roll. I loved the peanut dipping sauce. It was a darker peanut sauce that had more of a rich complex flavor than your average peanut sauce. It was very good. For my main course, I had the chicken curry. I asked if it was spicy, and they said it wasn't. It was just a tiny bit spicy, I mean, it was a curry, but it was well within what I could handle for spice. The curry flavor was great, the meat was tender, the rice had a good texture, and the veggies were neither too hard or too mushy. Everything was just right.
