This fast Chinese food restaurant is mostly to go bit also has 3 small tables for 2 inside and 2 tables for 4 outside, as well as 2 lines of chairs for to-go order people. The service is fast and friendly and they do special orders of all reyes .... Low sodium, sub substitutions., no spices or extra spicy lol are no problem for them because everything is fresh made when you order, I've never had anything here that I didn't love. We were looking for a different Chinese restaurant in our area. Tired of paying a lot for the substandard (at best) food out there right now. So we saw this place and thought we would try it. Since eating there last night my wife and I have been sick. My wife had the Honey Walnut Shrimp with Vegetable Chow Mein. I had the Orange Chicken with Pork fried rice. It was not my favorite, it had a sweet taste which I'm not use too and don't really care for I am definitely a more savory. So I wouldn't get it again so I'd give it 5/10. 2nd we got the spicy garlic green beans. We got mild spice cause my grandma doesn't eat spice. But again they were more sweet than garlicky, they are less cooked then al dente. Closer to the raw. But you can always re heat it and cook them a little more because you will definitely have leftovers if give it 5/10. I wouldn't have preferred more of garlic taste because that's the main ingredient in the name. 3 we got the salt and pepper chicken. To me that was a 9/10 the flavor was perfect it was crispy I just wish the chicken was a little more juicy so maybe cook 2 mins less but I would definitely order it again so definitely try it And I want to try the rice if I went back. My family and I were looking for a quick bite and stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant. The place is small, with only 3-4 tables inside, and seems to be mainly a takeout spot. They offer lunch specials Monday through Saturday from 11am to 3pm, and we were able to order from that menu. The lunch special came with Hot & Sour soup, a half-and-half choice of pork fried rice, vegetable chow mein, steamed vegetables, or white rice, plus a main dish. We ordered the General Tso Shrimp, Black Pepper Beef, and Honey Walnut Prawns. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The fried rice and chow mein were delicious, though a bit on the salty side. Person at the counter was very nice, tables weren't too wobbly nor were the chairs. Enough parking spaces outside even on a busy lunch our in my opinion. Theres a few various food choices on the menu to choose and does have the usual entree side combo options. Doesn't take too long to get your food either. So overall if youre just looking for easy Chinese food that isnt panda express then do consider going to this place. We needed to bring a dish to a potluck and were scrambling to find a place that could take a catering order with less than 24 hours' notice. The Wok came through big time! I called a little before they opened at 11am to ask if they could have a catering order ready by 2:30pm and they made it happen, no problem, it was ready by pick up time. Even though we only ordered one dish, they were super accommodating and helpful. We got the salt and pepper shrimp, which was $61 for 48 large pieces, and they were a hit! Our whole party loved them. Everyone kept asking where we got it from. Heads-up if you're ordering catering: they do require a 50% deposit, which is totally fair. Walking into this brightly lit space was quite refreshing. The ladies at the counter offered a friendly greeting as I checked out the menus. I found this restaurant after perusing Yelp for Chinese food, which I was craving. It appeared brand new but was told that it has been here for about a year. It is part of a pod of restaurants that seem to share one building but are different ethnically -focused restaurants. The Wok is on the backside of the building. The menu contained the usual offerings by protein - seafood, chicken, beef, pork and vegetables too. The options allow for any entree to become a combo for an additional $4 Making one's meal a combo adds a cup of soup, a choice from two appetizers,and a side of pork fried rice, vegetable chow Mein, steamed vegetables or white rice. I was very impressed with this option because I have not been frequenting Chinese restaurants because the cost of an entree, rice, and a veggie dish has been trending between $30 - $35.This had become too much for me, a retired person n a fixed income. Another option is the Daily Lunch Special served between 11 - 3 every day but Sunday. It includes soup, and two of the four previously cited sides. I got the salt and pepper spare ribs lunch with white rice, and steamed vegetables with hot and sour soup. The portion was very generous. The spare ribs were seasoned well and tender. The veggies included zucchini, broccoli, carrots, celery, onions, and bell pepper. Though nicely steamed, there was very little seasoning tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and am already planning a return visit with my niece for our monthly lunch outing. I noticed that they offer one of my favorite shrimp dishes; Salt & Pepper Head/Shell on Shrimp Freshly Brewed Teas - including Arnold Palmer and hot green and Jasmine teas as well as all fountain drinks are offered with free refills; however, refills must be requested at the counter. There is a sign in the counter that I think all of us may want to be more mindful of in these days of rising costs and greater difficulty for small businesses - Cash Preferred! If possible, and especially when dining with small businesses, let us help them and ourselves by keeping businesses like this around by paying cash whenever we can. It was great! I am always looking for great Chinese food and found another spot around the Arden Area in Sacramento, flavorful Chinese food with a cool vibe, it's called The Wok! We ordered the bowl option with General Chicken and chow mein, and another combination platter with garlic chicken, chow mein, a pot sticker, and hot and sour soup. It was so good and so tasty! The chicken was perfectly crispy, with plenty of flavor, generous portions and had that delicious charred, high-heat taste that makes you feel like it just came straight out of the wok. I stopped by The Wok last night after driving past a few times and one night on the way home I figured I'd give them a try. I stopped in looked at the menu and decided on the combination platter plate I ordered orange chicken, vegetable chow mein, potsticker and wonton soup. I also ordered cream cheese wonton and Wor wonton soup. The prices are a little on the higher but the portions are huge I will say. I Wor wonton soup I thought wouldn't be flavorful or good based on how clear the r broth looked, but baby when I tell you I about choked scarfing it down it was so delicious my goodness. The cream cheese wonton had the perfect crispness from the wonton and a nice chew from the cream cheese in the middle I had wished I made another order and I love the fact it doesn't have that imitation crab in it. You don't even need the sweet and sour sauce to dip it in, it's that good alone. Now to the Combination platter. The wonton soup fantastic and flavorful. The potsticker crispy and delicious wish I ordered a side of it. The vegetable chow mein was decent, I wish it had most flavor the veggies on it were good and the perfect crunch to it. The orange chicken I absolutely did not like at all. It didn't taste like orange chicken at all it taste like straight up soy sauce. It's so salty I unfortunately couldn't eat it, what a waste. I really love orange chicken and they missed the mark on this one. I recently moved into the neighborhood and stumbled across this restaurant by chance. Since it was late and I had not eaten dinner yet, my son and I decided to give it a shot. The menu looks typical to several other Chinese restaurants so we asked for their popular dishes. The person at the counter suggested the salt and pepper chicken or pork. I ordered the salt and pepper chicken and my son ordered the mandarin beef (both combination plates). One of the employees was busy cleaning up the restaurant as my order was ready. I planned to sit down and eat it there when l realized they were getting ready to close. When I apologized, they person was very nice and courteous saying it was not a problem and to take our time. eating. Long story short. What an amazing little hidden gem! We came to The Wok with my dad for his birthday, his choice. This is definitely a spot you don't want to judge by its exterior or its limited lack of seating. This place was absolutely poppin' with tons of to-go orders, but we decided to stay and eat ours there. We wanted to try a little bit of everything with it being our first time, so all three of us decided to order a combination plate. We tried both their hot and sour soup and their wonton soup. We also ordered their eggrolls and their potstickers. We tried both the fried rice and the chow mein, and for our entrées we tried the honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, and fried pork chops. The food was incredible! Tons of flavor and the portion sizes were phenomenal for the price. It is so hard to choose a favorite, but I think the honey walnut shrimp won my heart. Decently seasoned. Very soft noodles but not overcooked (I prefer chow mein noodles that are slightly bouncy). - Orange chicken: confusingly soy sauce driven; subtle orange taste. A bit on the greasy side without much crunchiness. - Kung pao tofu: fair amount of tofu pieces (they're the pre-fried spongy kind). Very mild in spice. Flavorful kung pao sauce but way too watery. When we received our order, it was all packed up and ready to go, and the to go boxes were hot (that's how you know they made it fresh!). They do have a few small tables in case you want to eat there. Since the place is new, we ordered a few dishes to try.
