    Shrimp fried rice
    Natanya G.

Excellent service! Food was made to order. Came out piping hot! Delicious! Very small inside. I'd recommend takeout if you have a party of more than 2. Orange chicken had so much flavor. Shrimp fried rice had lots of shrimp. Extremely flavorful! Generous portions. Highly recommend.

Small spot but always serves hot, fresh, and yummy food. Customer service is always nice and friendly, can't complain.

Fried rice, mixed vegetables, and tofu and bean sauce. All excellent tasting dishes! Yum

The food is really good. And that's worth 80%. I'll be honest is not very good with only two small tables. Super cheap plastic silverware, no real silverware to eat. That is very kind and nice.

My family and I were looking for a quick bite and stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant. The place is small, with only 3-4 tables inside, and seems to be mainly a takeout spot. They offer lunch specials Monday through Saturday from 11am to 3pm, and we were able to order from that menu. The lunch special came with Hot & Sour soup, a half-and-half choice of pork fried rice, vegetable chow mein, steamed vegetables, or white rice, plus a main dish. We ordered the General Tso Shrimp, Black Pepper Beef, and Honey Walnut Prawns. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. The fried rice and chow mein were delicious, though a bit on the salty side. That said, for about $14 per dish, it was definitely worth it. The portions were huge. We would come back again!

Got two lunch combination plates. Total came around to $43. Lunch combo comes with entree and two sides which I chose the pork fried rice and vegetable chow mein and either chicken broth or wonton soup for $2 extra. Overall. It was alright. Not the best but not the worst. I think for the price it's a little too expensive considering other places charge $12-$13 for lunch combination plates and it's similar plus an egg roll but the flavor was a little bit better than other places

Container is smaller than it looks in picture lol . Steam rice with vege chowmein and salt n pepper chicken combo

Been seeing this place pop up a couple times and was in the area so I decided to pop in and grab a quick lunch ... the place itself is nice but very small .. has two tables .. one for a party of 2 and another for a party of 4 or 5.. I ordered from their special menu which was pretty extensive. I ordered the salt n pepper chicken with steamed rice and vege chowmein .. it also came with hot n sour soup .. the rice was on the dry side but not bad .. the chowmein was good and the salt n pepper chicken was great.. only complaint was the portion was on the smaller size for the price .. but the salt n pepper chicken was delicious. I would come back to try some other dishes.

In a nutshell; Panda express, but up the quality a tad bit, the price a little bit more, and the portions x(1.3) Good chinese food to go, and if you do want to dine-in, they do have a few number of tables for you to dine-in at. Person at the counter was very nice, tables weren't too wobbly nor were the chairs. Enough parking spaces outside even on a busy lunch our in my opinion. Theres a few various food choices on the menu to choose and does have the usual entree side combo options. Doesn't take too long to get your food either. So overall if youre just looking for easy Chinese food that isnt panda express then do consider going to this place. Yes the prices are a bit more than the usual which can prompt you to think "why am I paying for expensive panda express" then maybe the quality of the food and portions can convince ya that it matches the prices. Overall was still a pleasant experience overall.

The staff was amazing super nice. We came in 45 mins before they closed. And they let us eat there and were patient with my grandma as she asked questions. So thank you! It's a small but nice place with seating out side and a couple tables inside. So let's get in to the food. The food was all super fresh and hot! So that is a 10/10 it didn't taste old but let's get into the flavor. We got pork chow mein. It was not my favorite, it had a sweet taste which I'm not use too and don't really care for I am definitely a more savory. So I wouldn't get it again so I'd give it 5/10. 2nd we got the spicy garlic green beans. We got mild spice cause my grandma doesn't eat spice. But again they were more sweet than garlicky, they are less cooked then al dente. Closer to the raw. But you can always re heat it and cook them a little more because you will definitely have leftovers if give it 5/10. I wouldn't have preferred more of garlic taste because that's the main ingredient in the name. 3 we got the salt and pepper chicken. To me that was a 9/10 the flavor was perfect it was crispy I just wish the chicken was a little more juicy so maybe cook 2 mins less but I would definitely order it again so definitely try it And I want to try the rice if I went back. The lady said they had a mango cream soda I'm not a soda person but it was delicious I'd give it a 10/10 definitely try it if you haven't

This food is good!! I got salt and pepper shrimp, shrimp fried rice, and veggie chow mein, everything had flavor and was cooked to perfection, I live in Elk Grove and I gladly will take the drive to this place because I haven't had any Chinese food that can compare to here , I'm a Bay Area girl so I find myself always comparing food to restaurants out there so I'm glad to find a replacement, just know ordering Ala carte gets a bit expensive

Beijing Beef Combination Platter with Egg Roll & Chow Mein, comes with Wonton Soup too! Hubby loved it!!

We decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp Combination Platter with Wonton Soup, Potsticker and Steamed Vegetables. My hubby ordered the Beijing Beef Combination Platter with Wonton Soup, Egg Roll and Chow Mein. My hubby, our 1 year old who split with us and I enjoyed our meals! The Wok Takeout is a family owned business that opened just last year! They offer limited outdoor and indoor seating, as well as Chinese takeout. We'll definitely be returning to try more of their menu items, great service! SYOY! :-) *Song Credit: Outside by @iksonmusic

Salt & pepper shrimp catering size ($61 for 48 pieces). They came in boxes but we put them in our serving trays

We needed to bring a dish to a potluck and were scrambling to find a place that could take a catering order with less than 24 hours' notice. The Wok came through big time! I called a little before they opened at 11am to ask if they could have a catering order ready by 2:30pm and they made it happen, no problem, it was ready by pick up time. Even though we only ordered one dish, they were super accommodating and helpful. We got the salt and pepper shrimp, which was $61 for 48 large pieces, and they were a hit! Our whole party loved them. Everyone kept asking where we got it from. Heads-up if you're ordering catering: they do require a 50% deposit, which is totally fair. This was our first time ordering from The Wok, but thanks to the great service and positive feedback from our guests, it definitely won't be the last!

Walking into this brightly lit space was quite refreshing. The ladies at the counter offered a friendly greeting as I checked out the menus. I found this restaurant after perusing Yelp for Chinese food, which I was craving. It appeared brand new but was told that it has been here for about a year. It is part of a pod of restaurants that seem to share one building but are different ethnically -focused restaurants. The Wok is on the backside of the building. The menu contained the usual offerings by protein - seafood, chicken, beef, pork and vegetables too. The options allow for any entree to become a combo for an additional $4 Making one's meal a combo adds a cup of soup, a choice from two appetizers, and a side of pork fried rice, vegetable chow Mein, steamed vegetables or white rice. I was very impressed with this option because I have not been frequenting Chinese restaurants because the cost of an entree, rice, and a veggie dish has been trending between $30 - $35.This had become too much for me, a retired person n a fixed income. Another option is the Daily Lunch Special served between 11 - 3 every day but Sunday. It includes soup, and two of the four previously cited sides. I got the salt and pepper spare ribs lunch with white rice, and steamed vegetables with hot and sour soup. The portion was very generous. The spare ribs were seasoned well and tender. The veggies included zucchini, broccoli, carrots, celery, onions, and bell pepper. Though nicely steamed, there was very little seasoning tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and am already planning a return visit with my niece for our monthly lunch outing. I noticed that they offer one of my favorite shrimp dishes; Salt & Pepper Head/Shell on Shrimp Freshly Brewed Teas - including Arnold Palmer and hot green and Jasmine teas as well as all fountain drinks are offered with free refills; however, refills must be requested at the counter. There is a sign in the counter that I think all of us may want to be more mindful of in these days of rising costs and greater difficulty for small businesses - Cash Preferred! If possible, and especially when dining with small businesses, let us help them and ourselves by keeping businesses like this around by paying cash whenever we can. I am excited about my next visit which will be soon.

Yelpers always with the good recommendations. DEEEEEElicious authentic Chinese food. Mostly takeout but accommodates 6-10 eat-in guests. Gracious with allergy restrictions. Super sweet little spot in an area with many ethnic eating choices. Was hit with a hunger about 4:30 and beat the dinner rush. 10/10 come back often for us. Hubs had hot hot hot General Tso bowl. I had combo Yakisoba. So satisfying.

This place is usually packed usually weekends but we just got lucky and not so many people today. The servers are good and quick let's review what we order. I order the pork ribs it's okay nothing special it's kind bland to me, if they put a little oyster sauce probably way better, shrimp harkaw is okay to good portion and the shrimp is big. We order choy sum veggies it was okay nothing special but their calamari is really good I can taste the five spice, we ordered our all time favorite Congee and it's really good, we always order Congee whenever we visit this restaurant. Their Crispy Pork is good but the sauce is too salty for me. Their Yang Chow fried rice is good too and their chicken feet one of our all time favorite. I also noticed that they got a Michellin award last year that's why probably a lot of people eat here. But my overall experience is just okay, nothing special.

Price went up, quality and quantity went down. You fill out what you want on a piece of paper, and then the waiter brings out the food. Our food came out fairly quickly but it was room temperature like it's been sitting in the back, the only thing that came out pretty hot was our last item but it was overly greasy. I'm not sure if this will be the same experience for their lunch or dinner meals, but I'm afraid to try and get disappointed.

That said, the food more than made up for it. Our favorite dish by far was the Spicy Calamari with Basil. It's something I'd absolutely come back for--the calamari was tender with a great texture, and the sweet, savory flavors paired perfectly with everything else we ordered. The Garlic Chili Green Beans were another standout. They had great flavor and still retained a nice crunch instead of being overly soft, giving them the perfect stir-fried texture. The Vegetable Chow Fun (with beef added) was decent but a little dry for my taste, so it's probably not something I'd order again. By the end of the meal we were completely stuffed, but we couldn't resist trying the banana cream pie. It looked huge when it arrived, and we honestly didn't think we'd finish it--but it was so delicious that we ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely don't skip dessert! I also appreciated that when I asked for hot sauce, they brought out several different options to try, including what seemed like a garlic chili sauce, chili crisp, hot mustard, and sweet and sour sauce. It was a fun touch that let us customize each bite. The restaurant also has a lot of history and character. We walked in casually without realizing it was a more upscale sit-down restaurant, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. If you go, the Spicy Calamari with Basil and the banana cream pie are absolute must-orders!

The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. It could've been better, but could've been worse. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I'll be back when dine downtown rolls around.

The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. This restaurant is a to-go only restaurant, and gets plenty of traffic from the area. I went midday (3:00pm) and there were at least 4 customers in and out during the time I was there. While I was checking their menu, I decided to order, since I remember how good their chicken wings are. I ordered the chicken wings, and a lunch combo with chicken with black bean sauce. The combo comes with chow mein and fried rice and an egg roll for $13.99 but I asked for steam rice instead of fried rice. Unfortunately, I didn't check my plate before leaving the restaurant because they gave me all steam rice and no chow mein. Despite the error, their chicken wings are still the best, and the chicken with black bean sauce was very good. I would've like to have tried the chow mein. Also, I didn't notice that they charged $16.99 for the plate, which was a little steep considering I got no chow mein. Some of the condiments are extra, like the hot mustard, so ask for it before they ring up your bill. I'm sure I'll be going back for the chicken wings because it's made fresh and it's really good.

Tried this hidden gem for lunch today. I was impressed. The place only does take out. If you pay in…read morecash you can avoid the 4% credit card fee. Don't ask for hot sauce, chili oil, or anything extra because they say no. They do have hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce for sale. This place has no frills, just good, fresh and generous portions. My new go to spot if you want good Chinese food. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch special, $14.25. After tax and cash discount, $15.50. It smacked. Waiting are is covered in pictures of their plates. It's worth to look at.

New Hong Kong Wok has been on my list for some time and they have pretty authentic Chinese food. We…read morecame around 5 pm, and it was already starting to get busy. For starters, parking is very limited, as it is a strip mall. There is some street parking. By the time we ordered, it was getting increasingly busy. We had only 4 people in our party, so they didn't initially provide us with the menu for larger family set meals, so we had to ask for it. We went for set A which serves 4-6 people. This set included the following: Soup of the day: Simple vegetable soup with some pork/beef in it. Peking spare ribs: Deep fried spare ribs with a sweet sort of sauce. This was a bit saucier than my liking. Not my favorite dish. Empress chicken (half): This was done very well, cooked perfectly. Came with ginger scallion oil. Pan fried sole: Classic, freshly deep fried, with a soy sauce based sauce. Mixed mushroom beef: Beef was tender, dish was seasoned well. Had a good balance of protein and vegetables. Seasonal vegetables and garlic: Simple, but delicious and a generous amount of vegetables. We also ordered mushroom with salted egg yolk from the Chef's Specials menu and it was delicious! This dish was very generous in size. There were pieces of fried beech (or seafood) mushroom in salted egg yolk batter. Seemed like there was at least two grocery store containers worth of mushrooms, if you've ever seen them in the Asian grocery store. This was almost like a snack, and went so well with white rice itself. They offered a complimentary dessert but it was very plain. It was straight up herbal/grass jelly with a sweet syrup. Service was standard for an Asian restaurant. The restaurant is pretty big compared to what you might see on the outside. The restaurant was acceptably clean. We sat by the window, and although it was covered, the sun was basically still shining on us, so it was really warm sitting there. Overall, I would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Chinese food.

Some people have written very, very recently that things have changed, and it was reflected in the food. We had been going here for years, and it tasted different this time. There was just something lacking from what I remember. It's good, but not exceptionally great. The char siu tasted different, as did the empress chicken. The house special pan fried noodle also didn't taste the same. These specific dishes used to be some of our faves when we went there, and it didn't hit the same this time. It also felt like the menu was different from when we last went. While we could check from our menus from a few years before, that was what we felt. It did get packed, so obviously still popular. The parking lot still is a pain in the butt to deal with, so some things haven't changed lol.
