I wasn't feeling well and wanted Pho since it had been awhile anyway. I haven't had any Pho that was exceptional since I moved out here from California. Pho Cafe so far has been the best! I've had Pho in Ft Collins, Loveland and Boulder. The service wasn't overwhelming compared to Places back home where they are way to eager to take your order.... just sat down opening the menu and asking if we were ready! Food is tasty. Got the pork bahn-mi and was so good. Also got the tofu-vegetable pho in beef broth and oooh man, I haven't had a veggie bowl that had so much flavor. Not bland at all. The portions are huge. Got a medium and could of been just fine with a small. I took my bahn-mi home. Also ordered jasmine tea and you get a full pot. Definitely worth driving down south for this place. Reading some of the reviews and seeing how others are saying Pho 79 or Pho Duy in Broomfield "tastes" better. You have no idea what good Pho even tastes like if you think Pho 79 is good, and this is coming from a family member of Pho 79. Not only does Pho Cafe offer a variety of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food, they do it good as well. The food is very reasonably priced for dinner(the portions are huge). My favorite would either be the combination pho(The #11) or the combination platter! I would say go a little bit earlier then 7 because they do get extremely busy! read more

We lived in Boulder for 12 years and had found the pho and curry restaurants that we liked. We moved to Lafayette in June and has not yet found our local spots. This place covered us for both Pho and curry. It was SOOO good! My wife and I kept commenting to each other during the meal about how amazing the food was. Cafe Pho just opened and boasted a 15% off sign. So we went to try to the pho. First warning sign: The two lady waiters were Chinese, sisters from the looks of it. Not good... the chances of this being a real pho joint just dropped. Why? Vietnamese-run restaurants know Vietnamese food best. It's that simple. Second warning sign: The menu offers everything from pho to seaweed salad to sesame chicken to pad thai. What kind of place is this? Psuedo-Chinese? Korean? Thai? Or Pho? When an Asian place offers a smash-blitterig of cuisines, either the chef is some fantastic fusion wonder. Or... it's one guy who's learned a few too many "tricks". BIG *ruh-roh* here. The Pho: If a place says it's a pho restaurant, that is the one dish I will try first. Because if they fail at that, it's guaranteed they will similarly fail at their other pan-Asian dishes. For example, if a pizza joint fails at their namesake pizza, hells knows what their mac n cheese will taste like. Let's start with the positives. The large size pho was indeed large, but this did prolong the unsatisfying meal. Ok, maybe there were no positives. Now for the negatives. The soup was fake. It lacked several of the key Vietnamese ingredients that make pho what it is. Instead, it was very, very salty, as if salt-water could compensate for the lack of a vital secret pho soup recipe. The noodles were not chewy or bouncy, which is another key component of pho. Instead, they were limp and waterlogged, hanging around the bottom of the overly-salty "soup". The beef was unremarkable. The verdict: No, no, no. Denver has a plethora of authentic, delicious, fantastically priced pho. Places that have a secret pho soup recipe, which they simmer overnight to get that rich, spiced broth. This place doesn't hold a candle. And if they fail at the dish their restaurant is named after, I can bet with some certainty that the overzealous chef is cranking out his psudo-Asian dishes in a kitchen armed with instant pho soup packets and buckets of sweet n sour sauce. The only reason this place might succeed is because Lafayette has few Asian restaurants, and those without a car to get to Denver or lacking a more distinguished palate will think that Cafe Pho actually has it all, Crab Rangoon and all. All the 15% in the world won't entice me back to this place. Food: 1 star. Service: Other than the fact that the waitresses were overbearing and irritatingly over-obsequent (think bowing and scraping like slaves, ready to kiss your feet) they seemed genuinely concerned if we liked our food. Not that they could have changed anything about it. 1 more star, although customers are not Kings, therefore, lighten up on the in-your-face THANK YOU SO MUCH, WE HOPE YOU LIKE IT, PLEASE COME BACK TOMORROW which we actually got, more than once. read more

Love love love their Pho. My husband and I have traveled all over Asia and the US and this place is great. Not to mention the staff is lovely! We both speak Chinese so we have a close relationship with them: each and everyone of the waitresses is really sweet. Not only that, but they treat their staff really well. It's a family business and they treat their staff really well. This is a place I'm always happy to support. Read that one review said the owners were Chinese and that that was a bad sign. They are Chinese, but they are ethnic Vietnamese and are from the border region of Vietnam and China. Either way, I think their Pho speaks for itself! read more

My Vietnamese friends took me here as a reward for helping them deliver people from the airport for a wedding. THIS Pho was a feast worthy of a wedding. The Pho is full of treats that are generous enough to make a meal of themselves. I always get the traditional Pho with tripe, tendon, raw and cooked beef. The meats are tender. It includes a huge pile of salad to melt into the Pho broth such as fresh-cut scallions, Onions, crispy bean sprouts, lime halves and of course a big sprig of Thai Basil. Thus the large size is big enough for two people. I often get the Pho to go, take it home and re-boil the tasty broth it to get it ready for the noodles and vegetables. This way I can keep the second meal of cold goodies and noodles chilled for the next day and drop the last half of the noodles in fresh. What a feast! The texture is maintained really well- with the noodles having just the right chewiness and bounce so I can pick them up with chopsticks. Once when I had a slight stomachache, all I wanted was the Pho broth. It's a healing soup by itself. read more

This was my first time here. I told the waiter what I was looking for and he made several suggestions. I asked about a few other items and he explained that they were good too, but not exactly what I said I wanted. I went with one of his suggestions, shrimp vegetable, and I was not disappointed. Service was excellent and my food arrived promptly. I arrived shortly after they opened and a few tables were already occupied. By the time I left, all of the other tables were full. We used to go to a place in Englewood, CO that had the best Vietnamese Egg Rolls, but now that we live in Erie, CO, we didn't want to make the long drive. We found this place tonight and we weren't disappointed. First of all, their Vietnamese Egg Rolls are to die for. Amazing! Secondly, their service was extremely friendly and quick. My wife accidentally spilled water on our table and several staff were there within seconds to clean it up and mop it all dry. And they did it with smiles and politeness! Our server was a young man named Stephen who was very friendly and polite. We loved him immediately and my entire family commented on how nice and personable he was. We gave the new Lafayette "Little Asia" corner a try and went to Cafe Pho. It is by far our favorite local Pho, for example in comparison to the Pho that is available near Pacific Coast Marketplace in Broomfield. The pho broth and fill were all tasty and critically the service exists here. You can get your water refilled. But I digress. The spring rolls were tasty, and regrettably we did not try other appetizers. But in addition to the pho we also tried the Sriracha Beef, which was excellent. Note the heart shaped rice in the grainy, fuzzy picture...nice touch. We'll definitely return. read more

Very thinly sliced beef in the steak pho. Maybe not the tenderest but the slicing makes it blend well with the soup. Heavy notes of star of anise on the initial tasting but balanced very well when added all of the condiments. read more

Would have to agree that if some of the Broomfield places, specifically Pho Duy, were nearby, I would go there. Or the Pho 79 on S. Federal in Denver. But all things considered Pho Cafe is a serviceable everyday Pho place, especially given the ability to get a beer with your Pho. In our 6 or 7 visits, the place has been clean and the food fresh. We've found the staff to be friendly and engaging. It does seem to be a family restaurant, evidenced by the kids doing homework in the corner. That's a plus in my book. read more

It's consistent, the portions are incredible, and the broth is absolutely out of this world every single time. Having lived in San Diego for a couple of years we got used to always having good pho on every corner... My wife and I were researching Pho restaurants in the area and the Yelp reviews for Pho Cafe were overwhelmingly positive. Great news! Off we went for our date night. The atmosphere is fine. Nothing fancy, but it doesn't have to be, so that's cool. It was the dinner rush, but there were still plenty of tables available. That said, we were strangely sat at the [large] table in the middle of the restaurant that they use half of for the to-go order boxes. No biggie, I'll sit next to six deconstructed liquor boxes stashed with delightful Vietnamese cuisine. Drinks? Sure, my wife had a glass of house wine. I looked for some local beers, because I'm not very creative. Not really much of a selection. Saporro sounds good to me. They brought it quickly with an extremely dirty glass. I'll drink straight from the bottle, thanks. The food was fine, but not the best Pho I've had by any stretch. The chicken spring rolls were good, but were pretty much just rice. That said, the food is decent enough to warrant a 3.5-4-star review if the service, atmosphere, or sanitation would have been decent. Having a Vietnamese girlfriend has led me to know a delicious Banh Mi, or Pho dish when I taste one and Cafe Pho does not disappoint. I was visiting Colorado for a weekend and my brother took me to this spacious and well decorated restaurant. Though it does not look like much from the outside, the food and the polite wait staff made the experience extremely enjoyable. Being from New York City I have tried every Vietnamese restaurant worth a damn in the city. The Pho and Vietnamese sandwiches at Cafe Pho are among the best I have ever tasted.
