I unfortunately have to give this spot a 2.5/5. My friends and I were looking for a late-night, Asian spot and we stumbled across Pho Kitchen. When we looked at the menu, we were very taken back by how expensive a regular bowl of pho was ($16-18 for a regular size). Not to mention, this was the first time we experienced a Pho restaurant not having any hanh dam so we were surprised. For context, my friends and I are used to the Vietnamese food scene in Houston so we're aware that we're pretty spoiled. This is the following list of items that were ordered: - Pho Dac Biet The soup game was unfortunately weak. It tasted pretty watered down and lacked flavor. Meat and noodles were fine though! - Goi Cuon (Shrimp and Pork) The Goi Cuon itself was decent but the sauce was... interesting. It was almost too sweet, my friend even mentioned that it had a slight hint of coconut which I was able to taste as well. I'm not sure if people in Boulder do Vietnamese food differently but the sauce was personally not for me. - Passion Fruit Green Tea w/Boba This was just okay. The boba and passion fruit seed was good. We were also able to taste the tea but it had an interesting aftertaste to it. I do appreciate the staff members and their hard work! Honestly, would not have expected the Pho to be so good in Boulder, CO. I think it could hold it's own in Orange County and definitely one of the better Pho places I've had outside of the Vietnamese community hot beds in the US (OC, San Jose, Houston, Orlando). Would definitely recommend if you're looking for good pho. It wasn't too busy both times I went during the week I was in Boulder, but the service was great. Gave me a chance to chat with the workers. They had an upstairs where you can chill and drink boba with your friends so I'm sure the vibes would be great in the fall or spring when the weather is perfect. The Pho had a great balance in flavor and was loaded with proteins for the "Pho Dac Biet" aka special. Second time around, I got the cold vermicelli noodles with barbecue pork and egg rolls bowl. We tried this restaurant at the beginning of December and both ordered Grilled Beef Noodle bowls. Our food was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. I say efficient because we also ordered dumplings to go, and they took the order and made sure they were cooked right before we left the restaurant. This place is absolutely delicious. I've been only been here a week and have eaten here 3 times already. The service is quick and fast and food comes out within 5 minutes MAX. The ambiance it's also super chill and laid back perfect for any occasion, mid day lunch, warm food to combat the cloudy gloomy weather or even a late night dinner!! Everything was amazing but I give it a 4/5 stars only because of the mess on the table that was there even after they cleaned up. Cannot recommend this place enough! I always get the grilled pork pho and my boyfriend gets the grilled chicken pho. I have lived all over the world and this is some of my favorite food. My boyfriend and I agree this is our favorite restaurant in Boulder. The bahn mi is also spectacular. The service is always so good, and the food comes out very quickly. They brought the veggies/sprouts out in these gross plastic baskets with the sprouts sticking out and touching the gross table. They should be brought out on a plate where it's clean.
