This vietnamese place was very comparable to places in reno. the food is good, and the service is what is expected of any asian restaurant: the food comes fast and the staff barely speaks english, but I would definitely say that I was taken care of though. I ordered the pho with rare beef and beef balls and the broth was very favorable, and wasnt too salty. the noodles were cooked to perfection, not being soggy or undercooked. I would definitely come back here when I come back to this area, maybe try out the cold noodle dishes. read more

Carson City has a lot of great options for food, but more often than not when lunch time rolls around and I'm looking to grab something, Pho Country is where I go. The pork alone is worth a trip from Reno. It has an intense, smokey flavor that I think is the result of (among other things) really good fish sauce and grilling, but it's hands down the best pork I've ever had. Everything it touches here turns to gold, from the noodle dishes to the pho itself, as the flavor rubs off on anything its in. It's good enough that go-to dish when I come here is simple a heap of the stuff with rice. That's not to say the other food isn't outstanding as well. Their pho, predictably, is outstanding. I've had it with both beef and pork, and while the beef is still excellent, the pork just adds a flavor to the stuff that's unmatched. You get a ton for your money too, so come hungry. Their noodle dishes (Bun) deserve a mention too. It's what I recommend to everybody who comes here for the first time just because it's such a good sampling of all the good stuff they have. My favorite (the 50b) has chicken, chopped up egg rolls and pork, giving each bite a variety of flavors and a very vivid and colorful presentation as well. Their appetizers have been great too, especially the potstickers, which are the largest ones I've ever seen. Most dishes come with a soup of the day, usually rotating between hot and sour, egg drop and seafood tofu. They're very thick and are delicious, especially the hot and sour which for my money is the best I've ever had. The prices here are very good. A large (and I mean LARGE) bowl of pho is about $8, and only a few things on the menu are over $10. For the quality and quantity of the food you get, it's an incredible deal. If you're coming for lunch, they can get you in and out extremely fast too, even during the crowded lunch rush. The staff is very friendly as well and I've never had anything other than excellent service there. My shrimp/ chicken spring roll became chicken spring roll....took 20 minutes for this appetizer to show up on my table!! Our curry chicken clay pot has a mixture of shrimp and chicken without any curry flavor, or maybe the curry was special in that it does not have any curry taste. When I mentioned that I ordered chicken... The waitor took it back to the kitchen to take off all the shrimp!! What if I was allergic to shrimp??!!$€#*. So I got this tasteless curry chicken with just a few stingy small pieces of chicken! I also ordered the 31a pho, it was ok.... Of course the broth is overly salty without much beef flavor! I've been here probably 7 times in the last 5 months. It's decent and I've had much better but there are no options around so somehow I've been back here every 3 weeks. Their pho is fine. The noodles are good, plenty of veggies when I order that one. The broth is too salty (msg- i suspect), but it's ok. I've also had shrimp in lobster sauce, which is actually pretty ok. The claypot dishes are ok too. Everything I've had is fine. They seem to only have one waiter, who is definitely on top of his game, if a bit rushed all the time. The food I would give 3- 4 stars, but the service I would give a zero if I could. Granted that they were pretty busy, but that is no excuse for taking 25 min just to take our order. We sat down at 5:40 and did not leave until 7:00. 30-40 min just waiting for them to take our order and waiting for the food. We had 4 kids and 2 of them didn't get their food until the end, very disappointed. We have never been to a Pho place that had this kind delay in their service. Not a fan of this place. The last time I went, I had one of the beef pho dishes. Well I got some beef, but I also got a ton of FAT. I've never had pho that had large chunks of fat floating in it like this. My friend and I spent half our meal picking them out of the dish and we had a huge stack of fat chunks at the end. Gross. I was hopeful that this place would be good. The atmosphere is decent. The food was poor. I had gristly chicken and when I asked the waiter to take it back a cook came out and said, 'what's wrong?' 'I don't like the flavor.' He says, 'Just add some hot sauce.' Amazing, I couldn't get them to take it back. Always great food which ever one you go to. I was in Carson yesterday and treated my friend Brian to lunch. As usual great food and plenty of it. They are busy so it took a minute to grab the attention of the waiter but as soon as that happened lunch appeared fast and hot. This was a "new" type of pho experience...i ordered the pho that had meat that was already charbroiled...and it added almost a bbq type of taste to the pho...which was a good thing...i loved it...i cme here with my snowman(aka my date lol) and iwe also go t the sampler appetizer which you cant really go wrong with...overall it was a good dining experience and i would like to go back and try more of their food:) read more

I ordered the spring rolls and a large pho ga (chicken pho). It was probably the best restaurant choice I've made in a long time around here. The service was friendly and fast. The spring rolls came out very fast which makes me question if they were pre made but nonetheless, they were tasty and I felt no shame or guilt downing them all... by myself. The pho ga was delicious. The side add-ins were mung beans, lime, jalepeno slices and cilantro. I haven't had cilantro in pho before, usually restaurants serve basil on the side instead of cilantro but it was still good. There was a lot of chicken and the broth was awesome. My inner Californian native screams bloody murder when restaurants give out styrofoam so I was definitely at peace with the handy dandy reusable plastic container they put the rest of my pho in. The total bill was around $15.00, considering I was full and also had a second meal with my pho to go I consider that a deal! One last side note.... The bathrooms were located "out back" behind the building. It resembled the cleanliness of a truck stop but luckily I just had to wash my hands! read more

Me and my dad ordered take out from pho just a couple days ago. We've been here before and have had some miss understandings with our orders previously. But we still gave them a chance a second time. This time around still not satisfied, we spent 60 dollars worth of food. Now if the food was good and they gave good portions the price wouldn't have been an issue. But the "steak" in some of the dishes was very tough and dried out for the price they were asking. And the take out containers were hardly filled up. There's plenty of restaurants in the Reno Carson area that give you more food for the money...generally when I have an encounter with a bad restaurant I don't take the time out of my day to wright a bad review, these things just happen. But I made a yelp account just to tell my experience here with the food. Just no quality was found here. It was that bad. Always busy and a great place to eat. These folks have a good size menu with lots of variety. If pho isn't your thing there are other flavors and infusions to try. Portions are nice size too. The staff is polite and food comes out of the kitchen at a good pace. There is plenty of space to wait inside if you need to, so don't be discouraged by the often full parking lot. Cheap prices. Coming from Portland where pho is about 16 bucks to a place where its 9$ is kind of amazing. However the noodles no matter how long they soaked were hard and the broth no matter how much I doctored it left a bad flavor in my mouth. I couldn't even finish half of my bowl (I usually finish it all). Cute little restaurant though. This fulfills a pho craving. It's a weird Chinese Vietnamese fusion place. Their spring rolls were not good, but their pho is decent and their shrimp with walnut prawns passes off enough to fulfill the craving. Service is a bit slow here though and not always attentive. Also, I'm not sure if it was a one-off or if all their Thai iced teas here are horrible? It was insanely bland, not sweet at all. When we asked to add sugar they gave us sugar packs as if it was a coffee or something. Thai iced tea should always come sweetened and usually it has been sweetened by syrup or condensed milk. I liked the fact that they do carry out. My order was ready in ten minuets and the guy was very friendly! However the food was awful! No flavor in the pad Thai chicken. I was really hoping it would be delicious but it was not. I don't think I will ever go there again. Genuine pho in Carson City I grew up in Seattle and Portland Oregon where there are significant Vietnamese populations. I've always enjoyed pho and the other Vietnamese foods and was a bit disappointed when I moved to this area due to the lack of cultural diversity. I'm used to being one of the few caucasion people eating in Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle and Portland so I was skeptical that there would be decent pho in Carson City NV. To my surprise and delight I've found that their pho rivals the best I've had in densely populated Vietnamese communities in the NW. I eat here virtually anytime I pass through Carson. read more

Their Pho and noodle dishes are well seasoned, delicious, and quite reasonably priced. Service is fast and friendly. YUM!!! We love this place!!! We would always order out here last year but this year - we've been eating there. All the food here is amazing!! The vegetables and fruit (pineapple) are really fresh!!!
