I come here occasionally when I am in the area. The service is decent the parking is a little bit of a pain depending on the time. The reason for not giving them 4 stars is due to the lack of flavor of the Pho and Bun Bo Hue on my most recent visit. The broth on both of the soups were on the bland side. It seemed to me the amount of broth was on the skippy side. I would have liked to have more broth in my bowl. I did appreciate the amount of meat they give in the soups. I wish they had appetizers (egg rolls & spring rolls). The amount of broth in the bowls could be a little more generous. read more

This is my favorite place for pho in this area. The service is fast (my food usually arrives in less than 3 minutes) and the staff is friendly. The interior is spacious, clean, and bright. I love the pho because the broth is flavorful and full of depth. The meat is tender and abundant. I always order an iced Vietnamese coffee. It is rich, creamy, and strong. Not my favorite pho. I took some to go, and I liked the way that it was packaged, making it easy to assemble at home. However, the chicken was cold and had jiggly skin and fatty parts on it. It was annoying to have to go through and peel it all off. Maybe some people like it like that, but it's just gross to me. The flavors of the pho were on par with other places, but sub-par meat is a big detraction for me. I got two meals out of a ~$6 small bowl, so it wasn't bad price-wise. read more

Although their menu is limited, this is actually a pretty good place for Pho soups in Houston. I've only visited on other place that was a bit better. We ordered one small soup each and the portions were quite large All of the meats and ingredients seemed quite fresh and tasty. The service was quick and the price was very agreeable . Pho Danh on 11049 FM 1960 5/29/2015 Large bowl of Pho with a ice vietnamese coffee. Sparkling clean, spacious dining area. LOTS of light. Marble topped tables. Busy for lunch. Note - Place does NOT have vermicelli dishes or spring rolls. There are a few other items, but this place is really all about the PHO. The bowls come in THREE sizes, Small, Large, and X-Large. Large here is just a bit bigger than a normal sized bowl, IMHO. As with any place that properly serves pho, you get a little plate of greens, limes, and bean sprouts. Many places I have been to usually leave out the ngo gai (wild coriander). Not so for this place. Secondly, the basil and the ngo gai they serve is VERY fresh and pungent. I realized I had put too much in after the first taste. That being said, it was delicious. Very flavorful broth that wasn't overly salty. It wasn't murky but a nice light brown with clear floating globuls of fat floating on top, lots of them! Bowl came out hot, but not scorching. After about a minute, all the pink in my meat was gone. Very delicious and tasty. Also pretty cheap. The bowl, coffee and tip for the waiter came to ~$12. Highly recommended and the best I've had in the area. read more

This place is fast in service and reasonably priced. Their soup bowls are massive for people like me - so their smaller size is just more than what I need for a hearty lunch or dinner. I am slowly getting to like the fatty sections of meat cuts used in Pho - and chose the pork and shrimp pho dish while a friend got the simple chicken and broth. Their meats do contain the fatty portions, so don't freak out if you see that - the fatty part adds to the flavor of the broth and is seen in many pho places around. I mention this because it may be a turn off for some people. Personally, I liked what I had, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her chicken. They offer the broth by itself, which I might do on nights where I'm not feeling up to a full dinner. read more

I go here with my little family often. You go in and pick a table and the waiters bring you your menus. They move quick too once you give them your order. I usually order the pho tai nam, bun bo hue, or hu tieu (dry). I like that they have small bowls, plasticware, and scissors by the register that you can just go and get yourself if you have kids and need to cut their noodles. I also like that they have a KID SIZE pho on the menu, which is pho with just noodles and broth and for only $2.50. This is pretty much what my little guy (3 years old) likes to eat at pho places so it's nice that I can order that for him whenever I do not order pho for myself. If I do order pho it is a large, but they offer an XL option too, and i share with my son. Alot of places make you buy the small size pho plain cause they don't have the kid size option. So I really appreciate it. They have a sign that says LOW MSG. So there is MSG, but very low. I never really can taste it. The pho broth is good, comes out hot and you can also ask for cooked bean sprouts, basically blanched in hot water already so it's already cooked and don't have to rely on your broth to soften it. The herbs and bean sprouts are always fresh and plentiful. The prices are great and a large pho is definitely a large pho, not pho in a big bowl and disguised with extra broth. The price were decent and the portion was generous back then. Very disappointed today with one small piece of bo vien on my bowl. Pho Danh is my go to out in the 'burbs. Came here on a Thursday for lunch. It was crazy packed, but the service was still good and quick like it normally is. We ordered pho and got our food within minutes. The pho is consistently good here and it's the best pho place outside of Chinatown. Though they might have the best gau (fatty brisket) in all of Houston. They give you a lot of meat so I usually just get a small bowl and get pretty full. Also, the bun bo hue here is pretty good. I'm not a fan of beef noodle soup, but I tried the Bun Bo Hue here (which the call Imperial Noodle) and it was only average. The broth did not have enough flavor and the veggies were lacking in my favorites herbs. The cooked blood and noodles were overdone so when I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks they fell apart. I asked for cooked beansprouts which they forgot to bring out for me, twice. So I wasn't too happy with the service either. I've been coming here for years since it is just down the street from where I grew up. We usually go for lunch since they close kind of early and I prefer pho for lunch anyways. Food options are pretty much limited to pho and maybe a few other noodle dishes, but don't expect a full menu with rice dishes and other things that you may normally see at other Vietnamese restaurants. At first, I was slightly disappointed because there are times that I really want rice, but now I see that it was a good idea that Pho Danh stuck to mostly pho because they can specialize it and make it really good rather than spreading out their menu and producing mediocre dishes. The food comes out really fast! Their pho base broth is pretty tasty and the vegetables are really fresh! I ordered a small bowl and it was the perfect amount of food for me. This is a great place to catch a quick lunch if you're on the go. My dad works at Hewlett Packard near Tomball and he and his co-workers frequent this place a lot. Also, it is near the Cy-Fair Hospital and other Cy-Fair professional offices, so lots of people come here for lunch. Overall, Pho Danh is great for lunch, cheap, quick, and delicious! read more

Mo Pho fa' me! With every visit we get the best service and the phreschest pho. After telling them that i limit my meat intake they offered delicious rice noodle soup with veggies and made sure it was no problem. Don't worry about cost, its worth every bite and you get clean food: no MSG & delivered/stored safely. They'll tell you anything about their operation, this shows that they're wholesome and have nothing to hide. Gotta love that! As a soup house, you get soup. I love that there is a strictly Pho place such as this on the NW side of Houston. Sure, you can get Pho and any of the many places around, but to get Pho with such variety? This is probably one of the few, if not only, places. During our visit my husband and I were one of the few, if not the only, non-Asian couple during our visit; this usually suggests SOME sort of authenticity, right? Aside from Pho, you can order "sides" such as extra noodle, extra soup and an assortment of meats--as well as a strictly Pho and noodle, should you choose. What's more, you can actually pick between "Small" and "Large" sizes; you're not stuck ordering a trough of soup like most places. It's also one of the two places around here where I've seen broth on the side (Kho) style. Got #28 (Mi Do Bien Nuoc) and loved the flavor of the broth--it was so smooth. The side order of shrimp balls (Chen Suong) had a super delicious broth flavor as well. Definitely suggest coming to Pho Danh if you're looking to go outside the usual "comfort zone" of most Vietnamese places around here and try something new. The first time I was here (1 year ago), I stand there and wait for someone to acknowledge me to take my seat, but no ones seem to be paying any attention so I left. So the other day I was trying to give it any another chance but once again I was disappointed. After I was seated this time, I sat there and wait for 10 minutes and no ones come to take order (not even bring out water). Then I looked up and saw a customer walk up to the counter with a plate of vegetable and complained that it was dirty. After that I had enough so I left and this time I refuse to go back if they pay me to. If I can give this place 0 star I would because I never even get to try out the food. Another thing about this place that annoyed me was their claim that they only use little MSG. What is little MSG? Either yes or no, little MSG not going to help the people with MSG allergery SMH!!! This is a Vietnamese soup place. That's all that they do. I read some reviews about the service being "sub-optimal." I've been several times and found it to be consistent with the service I receive in other pho restaurants. Perhaps it's a cultural difference... but, well, they're all about getting your order and getting it to you quickly... and nothing else. If you need someone to stroke your ego or make you feel special, try a different cuisine. They have pho (noodle soup). That's all that they have. They don't even have spring rolls. I'm okay with this. You've been warned. The place is quick and priced appropriately for the area. $7 for lunch is not bad (yes, it's cheaper in Asian neighborhoods... which this isn't). The quality is pretty good and the portion size large (if you're really hungry, you can get an extra large bowl for $9). They provide you with plenty of meat which seems to be of good quality. The atmosphere is nice. The ONLY bad thing about this place is that they use MSG. They have a sign that says "Low MSG." Really? Like most pho restaurants, the waitstaff is rude, the place is always crowded, but the restaurant is very clean as are the restrooms. Since Pho Danh in this location opened up about 2-3 years ago, the pho has steadily gotten worse. In the beginning it was very good and big portions but lately, they have been skimping on the meat and the broth is mediocre. As of late, I have been eating their Hu Tieu Dai which was so good I'd crave it, but even that has gotten a lot worse. Also they don't open late, til about 8:30pm and don't even think about coming in at 7pm. Though the Hispanic busboys won't mind serving you, the lady in the front will give you the dirtiest look through your entire meal. She's been known to throw menus and still chew on her food when she takes your order.
