Having spent over 4 years in Asia, my wife and I were looking for somewhere that served more authentic food from the region. This place is definitely the best we could find in north Florida which has lots of fried southern food options. The noodle bowls and meat platters all have plenty of vegetables and clean, quality ingredients. The service is quick and then you are left alone for the most part. Note: Some people complain about having to pay at the counter but it is very common in Asian restaurants and I dont see it as "bad service." read more

Giving it a second try! My first time here was back when they first opened and it wasn't impressive by any means. Lately, I have been having some soup cravings so I thought we would give them a second try and we were quite impressed. We started out with A13 Steamed Meat Dumplings & A7 Grilled Beef Rolls. The dumplings were pretty standard with any other place in taste. The Beef roll had entirely too much noodles and not enough beef. I personally wouldn't order the beef rolls again although they weren't bad. Then we ordered the pho P3 Eye of Round Steak. The pho both was nice and flavorful compared to the previous time I tasted it here. The broth wasn't as flavorful as the place in Seattle that I consider the Gold Standard. The meat could have been sliced a bit thinner as well. Overall, the Pho was the best I've had in the area. It's probably not the best you have ever had but most certainly worth a try. Highly disappointed with the service. Ordered a small chicken pho to go, was given a total on the phone, and asked my wife to pick it up. My wife called and gave me the price she paid, which was $5 higher than the price given when I placed the order. My wife went back in and they said they actually gave her a large pho instead of the small I ordered, because they "don't do small orders to go" although the container looked much smaller than the large I had ordered in the past. The employee refused to correct this or refund the difference. Having been a regular customer for at least a year, I am very disappointed with the service and will not return. read more

*Food is great, but service needs to be improved, you pay at the counter. I have been a handful of times as I do really enjoy the food. I love a great bowl of pho! They have multiple sizes of bowls, all of which leave me with leftovers. I enjoy that they put the vegetables (mint, bean sprouts, etc) on the side so you are able to add to your liking. I was surprised that they did not offer any chili powder only siracha...I have also tried their beef noodle bowls! Yum! Very flavorful! Also comes with a sweet sauce. Although I do visit, I always have to second guess it due to the service. I felt rushed to order as soon as I said part of my order, the server immediately asked my friend what she wanted...I also asked for a water with my Thai tea and never got it. I reminded her once she sat the drinks down the first time then she never came back to the table...not even to check for refills or how our food was. The first time I visited with my friends, we had no idea we had to get up and pay at the counter. We waited for our checks, glasses empty, dishes set aside, with acknowledgment from anyone standing around. I've only been here a few times when it was slow, usually the only customer when they open at 10. But today I came during lunch when it was a bit busier. The pho is decent, a little saltier than I'd like. I don't order anything else so I can't speak to the other dishes, but I'd give the pho 3-4 stars if I were to rate just that. The service is terrible, even during the times when I was the only customer. However, during their rush hour it gets worse. I was served my plate of bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil and lime only to find that the lime had been used already. I can only assume they gave me what they thought was an untouched plate from another table, which is disgusting. I waved the owner over and he apologized & brought me a fresh plate. As I ate my meal, the server who served me the used plate of veggies never came to check on me. There was a large table of 5-6 who spilled something that was not cleaned up & about 10 mins later, an older woman almost slipped on the wet floor. Long story short, order your pho to go. *UPDATE* The service was much better when I went last week. I just moved to Fort Walton with some friends and they told me that the closest pho place was a decent drive, so when this place opened up I was pretty excited since it's pretty close to our house. I read all of the reviews and went in there with a very open mind and also keeping in mind that it's a newer restaurant. We were greeted, sat and drink orders taken right away. We ordered 2 appetizers, the traditional egg rolls and fresh summer rolls and I thought both were really good. Their peanut sauce went well with the summer rolls and the rolls themselves tasted fresh. We all got an order of pho (just different meats in them) and my other friend got the combo BBQ pork and shrimp egg noodle soup. I personally like rice noodles better, so my opinion is always biased when it comes to pho. Now let's dissect the soups. Pho: broth was very light and flavorful... the meatballs, even.better. Hands down some of the best meatballs/ flank I have gotten anywhere before. You will see what I mean when you try it for yourself. Every bite seriously explodes with flavor and the flank is so tender it almost falls apart, so what ever they are doing different to their meat, they're doing a really good job. Egg Noodle Soup: I had several tries of this. Just the broth and then a bite with veggies and noodles and like I said I'm more of a pho eater, but I would highly recommend either! Overall the food was a high 4 stars! The service is what made me put 3 stars. Our server seemed a little confused and sassy at first, but then another guy was helping her take our orders and bring out the food. We got a Banh Mi sandwich to go and they gave us the wrong sandwich, but she quickly noticed and came back to give us the correct one. We were never given the check, so we just went up to the front to check out and that took SOOO long. She was manually trying to type everything in and using a calculator and looking at the menu trying to add it all up together. It took almost 15 minutes up there to pay with 3 cards and one of my friends got asked to pay the entire amount of the bill. The owner (it seemed like) came up and started helping the older lady, since it seemed like she was super confused with what we all ordered. I honestly think it's just a new restaurant, with new people and processes. Once they get that down to a science I think this will be a higher rated restaurant. The restaurant itself is SO nice. It's very futuristic and elegant looking in there and they have their soup and sandwich station up front for you to see instead of in the back. I thought that was kind of neat. People are being way too harsh for this NEW restaurant that hasn't been opened for more than 1 month. Obviously they are still working out their flaws..but overall I think they are doing pretty good. Growing up in a traditional Vietnamese household, I feel like I'm a good critic of Vietnamese food. I make my own homemade pho at home that my mom taught me. After reading reviews.. I thought this restaurant was going to be terrible but the pho was delicious! The fresh rolls were mediocre.. Highly recommend! They do military discount and I have never had a bad meal. They had slow service one time because the where short staffed but they made it work. They are family owned and operated. I keep going back and I have had pho from all over. I don't know about the Niceville place but I can tell u this place isn't trash! Give it an honest chance and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Think for yourself but you'll always have upset people. Some of the best Pho broth I've ever had. I could literally eat Pho every day of my life at least once and if I got my pho from here id be more likely to eat it twice. I had the steak and brisket pho, at first I was surprised by how cheap it was in comparison to the serving sizes. I got a Large bowl but there small bowl was a significant size as well. The noodle to meat ratio was perfection and the waiters were courteous and timely. The Thai tea is sweet (not complaining) and delicious. They also serve coconut water in a coconut. Been meaning try this place out for awhile now and finally did. Man was I missing out! Their food is incredible! The broth was so tasty and everything was just right. Ordered mixed vegetables and the BBQ pork. The BBQ sauce was tangy and just the right amount of spice. Love how they had bok choy in with the vegetables. My wife said the fried chicken bites were the best she's ever had, and the sweet and sour sauce was great! We ordered it for pickup and it was ready in 10 minutes, super fast! Worst experience EVA! I've been to other Vietnamese restaurants and this place sucks. The waitress couldn't get our order right. The fried eggrolls were uncooked. The fried dumplings were served steamed. When we corrected them and said we wanted fried, they simply fried the same dumplings so when we got them for the second time they were soggy. Service was great love the ambience, modern and eclectic not noisy...but the best part was the food. They accommodated my allergies. Pho was full of flavor though I was hoping for bit more spice. I want to inform everyone who chooses to go to this place. Maybe I have really high standards because I live in Houston, TX. But this place fucking sucks. 1. H O R R I B L E service. But I do want to say, there is a server who tried to help us out. I believe she's white. She was the "best" one there. I appreciate her attempt because there was no attempt from the other two. We all had water and maybe two other beverages. We never received one of them. Oh, one of our dishes came out FIRST before our WATER. I really try to be understanding with servers because I was one at multiple restaurants. But in this establishment, 3 servers is MORE than enough. Maybe the servers need better communication or just more help. 2. Goodness gracious, the food is horrible. My brother can eat pho everyday for the rest of his life and he had two spoonfuls and he couldn't eat it anymore. Maybe it was tied in with the service that just tanks our opinion on the food, but my other brother who is our personal garbage disposal said it sucked. That man never says food isn't good. Bun bo hue at a pho restaurant is ALWAYS a hit or miss and I knew that ordering it, but usually it would taste somewhat similar or maybe close to mediocre. It didn't taste like bun bo hue. The broth isn't the correct broth... literally tasted like pho broth then mixed in other spices that maybe can "mimic" the bun bo hue broth. For a place that has a few tables (in my opinion a few, when we arrived there were probably 4-5 tables max) we'd expect faster service. To be quite honest with whoever is reading this, there's so much more I'd like to explain. I really don't know how this place has good reviews. You can take my advice from a Vietnamese person, don't go here. I think they get their business for people who go on vacation who doesn't know any better.
