Just going to start this off by saying that I'm not sure why this place has lower than 4 stars on average. This has become a go-to place for my boyfriend and I here in Golden, and we almost didn't try it because of the Yelp reviews! So here's the lowdown: we've always had fantastic service, with the exception of one time when we came in a half-hour before closing and were given some serious stink eye by a woman cleaning up the restaurant (and then instructed that we were only allowed to order pho because it was so late). I'm not the type of person who gives bad reviews for poor service when the food is delicious, unless it's REALLY exceptionally bad -- like I said, we have typically had excellent service; the one woman who normally helps us is incredibly friendly. As for the food, it's been spot on. I get the pho every time because -- I'll admit it -- I'm a little bit of a pho addict. Should also admit here that I'm a snob when it's comes to pho, and this pho is good. Not the absolute best I've ever had -- the meat could be a little more tender -- but the noodles are plentiful, the broth is downright healing in addition to being slurp-it-from-your-bowl delicious, and they give plenty of toppings. What more can you ask for? I've been to plenty of pho places in wealthy white suburbs that have been PURE TRASH, so I was really pleasantly surprised that this place is so good, especially the broth. tl;dr: Don't believe the bad reviews. My husband & I were craving for Pho, after spending 3 days in Beaver Creek it was a good stop before heading back to Denver. It was nice & clean just the way I love it. Our server was nice and she laughed at practically everything my husband said (not sure if she understood him). We ordered the egg rolls, it was OK. Did not seem very fresh. The Pho broth was good, however it's a lot. They could have added a little more noodles and meat. My husband commented that if you skimp on the meat in Houston, you'll get your butt kicked...LOL. So far taking too long to be seated and order. Pre filled water with lemon glasses. Offputting. Started with wontons. Filling was tasty. Sweet and sour sauce just sweet, no sour. Wonton skin was too thick. Also ordered beef rice noodle bowl or bun bon nyoung. I was going to get pho but they scratched out their small serving option. Not a good sign. But ok. Atmosphere is small but clean. Nice decor, nice freah smell, 2 tvs going, full bar featured. Rice noodle bowl taking forever! Glad this is Golden, they wouldn't last in Aurora. If you're going to Aurora, CO go to Pho 75. Got my meal. Looks yummy though. Pho is fresh amd thats why we like it. Their fiah oil was bomb.com. and Im happy. Good, basic food, but it's inexcusable for a restaurant nowadays to have no information about food allergens such as gluten. There was nothing on the menu listed as gluten free. No one in the restaurant seemed to have any idea about ingredients or food allergies. My wife asked whether the one salad on the menu had wheat, flour or soy sauce in it and was told no. After eating several bites she noticed something crunchy: onions fried in flour batter. She has celiac disease and was sick for several days as a result. If restaurants can not accommodate allergies they must at least be honest about that fact. Other than that, the pho was serviceable. Service was reasonably fast. Atmosphere was so-so. There was a CD of a jazzed-up version of Beethoven's "Fur Elise" that kept skipping; no staffer fixed it. read more

Customer service is the worst thing on the planet. There's a place called pho88 in federal hill that has the best customer service and great food too. Highly recommended, and trust me you can take my word for it as I travel all over and eat pho regularly at each destination. Note: this'll the review above is from my first visit. I LOVE pho. I eat it at least once a week, so I try a lot of different places. This one is by far the worst I've ever been too. Our waitress, an elderly Asian woman, was very rude, walking away in the middle of my requesting a stack of extra napkins since I was with my young sons who are messy little boys. She brought me back 2 napkins... is there some sort of napkin famine I'm unaware of? Not a huge deal, but she continued to be rude, neglectful, and unhelpful Ok, rude service, but how was the food? The worst pho I've ever had. The broth was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. I ordered mine with tendon, a favorite of mine, and it was inedible. I paid extra for it too, but couldn't eat it because of how under cooked it was. And, it's the most expensive place I've eaten pho at. Their large is a medium anywhere else, but still a pricey $15.00. My advice I to skip this place and try somewhere else. They obviously have no passion for what they do. read more

Be sure to consider the house sauce with your spring rolls. It is an interesting change from the traditional peanut sauce. Also the lettuce coming out one end was a delightful presentation. The pho is very tasty especially if you add the basil, bean sprouts, and peppers. And, squeeze in the lime slices. You don't need to eat the peppers, etc, but they all add flavor. If your really hungry this place might not give you the portion of protein your lookin for (especially compared to pho basil in belmar, they literally give 4x the amount of protein as this place). Other than the atmosphere, cleanliness, and decent pho broth, my experience made it the worst Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. I've eaten close to 500 bowls of pho, and shrimp springs rolls with peanut sauce in my life growing up near authentic Vietnamese food. First time here and I won't be coming back. I wondered why very few people were here at noon for lunch. The spring rolls shouldn't be classidied as such. One singular piece of lettuce, overcooked noodles, and very bland, flavorless shrimp inside. The peanut sauce was definitely created by mixing a powder with water. It had a offputting granular texture, flavor, and color. The color wasn't anything like I've seen from any peanut sauce I've had. The jalapeños for the pho were basically quarters of whole jalapeño, not even sliced like normal. The tripe reeked and was definitely not anything close to fresh, they overflow the bowl with noodles to compensate for a small amount of meat. My water was never refilled one time even though I was the only diner present for some time. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was unacceptable and want to save anyone trying Vietnamese food for the first time, as it is my favorite type of food. read more

However, when quoted 20 minutes on a to go order and it takes 50 minutes that is kind of a bummer- if you're backed up I'd prefer to have you tell me the truth so I don't end up standing around writing negative yelp reviews on my phone. On several occasions my food has taken over 2 hours for delivery when told 30minutes, upon calling to inquire as to where the order is they are rude and unapologetic. Today I ordered after waiting and hour fifteen I called and they said it would be on its way in five minutes, after waiting another 45 minutes I callback and ask for the manager, he tells me they have no driver today and I need to come get it myself! I went here for lunch today as I was in this part of town, so I decided to fix my pho craving. I hate to sound like a Pho 79 homer, but a lot of places do not stack up. Pho Golden has some decent decor and the menu looks pretty good. Got the large pho and I probably could have paid less for the small and received the same amount of food. Flavor and service was there, but portions seem to be the thing that I really notice between the good pho places and the not so great ones. My co worker had a rice plate which looked pretty good, so this place might be an overall good Vietnamese restaurant, but I don't think it's a superb pho restaurant. read more

Disclaimer: Honestly, this place recives about three stars, but it being the only pho location in Golden bumps it up to 4 stars. I have been living in Golden since this place opened up. And I was so excited for a pho place to be nearby rather than be miles away on Federal. The food here is alright as a whole, but it definitely cannot compete with the pho on Federal. But, its location definitely makes it convenient for us in Golden. I usually come here to get my pho fix and it does help. Recently, I've noticed that they've added tripe and tendon to their pho menu. Yay for more authenticity (sort of). On their pho, I definitely say they skimp out on the meat compared to Federal restaurants. And they tend to charge a higher price as well. I also recently tried their grilled pork spring rolls. I thought the pork was cooked well. Also, the roll held together well as you ate it. They'll give you a fish sauce dip for the rolls, but they'll be happy to give you a peanut sauce dip if you ask. read more

We love the food here. With that said, I've never seen such awful service in a restaurant. We come here all Of the time and just accept the fact that it will be a frustrating experience. One time I came to pick up lunch around 11:30am,( hours are 10 to 10) and the door was locked. I call to make pick up orders all of the time and sometimes the phone is off the hook. When we go in, we wait sometimes 15-20 minutes before someone even comes to our table. You have to chase them down if you need anything after you've gotten your food. This place is terrible. I ordered the vegetarian vermicelli noodles with tofu and veggies. I told them no fish sauce ( I'm allergic to it). When I got my order it had oyster sauce all over it. A bit more expensive but about the same quality as you would get at the "pho panhandle" near Federal & Alameda. I usually try to avoid the tripe and ligaments as of late because I'm not that adventurous anymore! No complaints though, the beef strips and steak were cooked well and had a good flavor. Plus the Sriracha cap was clean and didn't have the spillage on the side of the bottle which you would find at some places. Also tried a boba tea for the first time in years and was pretty satisfied! Not too sweet and a really entertaining beverage overall...especially with someone who has never had one. And especially someone over 55 (a.k.a. Been meaning to get to this place for sometime, finally made it. =] So walking into Pho Golden, you would think you were walking into a higher end Chinese restaurant. This place is beautifully decorated, not like any Pho I've ever been to. The dead giveaway though is the familiar condiments on the tables, unmistakably Pho. =] The service was good, and the food came pretty quick. I ordered a large, but it looked closer to a medium. Not as large as most Pho places. The broth was de-lish and the steak was lean and tasty, a very good bowl indeed. I want to get back here to try the other items on the menu. It looks like they have an expanded menu and actually offer some Chinese dishes. One thing to note though, this establishment is a little pricier than most Pho establishments. I've had one terrible experience here and a few okay experiences.. Let me preface this by saying I know that you don't have to devein shrimp.. but it seems to be common practice in my experience. I prefer not to have the gritty texture that comes with leaving the intestinal track in. So I ordered a dish with shrimp in it and I noticed that the shrimp wasnt deveined, so I decided to remove the shrimp and eat the rest of the dish. The attentive waitress noticed and asked what was wrong. I explained that I didn't like how the shrimp was cleaned and she decided to touch all my food and clean them right there at the table!! It was the most outrageous thing I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Who knows how clean her hands were. And even if they were clean I just don't want someone to touch all of my food while I'm eating! After that experience, I'm surprised I ever went back. But I do love pho and this was the only place in Golden I could get some. So I've been back but I've never ordered shrimp again... PS. cheap beer if you're into that kind of thing. read more

Solid pho value with nice surroundings and very attentive service. This is a "nice" pho place (as opposed to most of those on Federal). The flavor of the broth and quantity of the steak was about average. The spring rolls with shrimp were very good. I marked them higher for running a very nicely appointed and very clean-seeming establishment. I'm giving a 3 because I don't have much experience with Vietnamese food or pho in general. I was very satisfied with my meal - I ordered a plain Rare Beef Brisket Noodle Bowl. The meat was tender & I didn't find any 'chewies' or bad bites. The broth was flavorful even before I added anything. I ordered a small bowl & there was plenty of food leftover! The plate of herbs & veggies was fresh & plentiful. Price was exactly as expected. The restaurant was updated & comfy inside and the bar was modern & cool looking. I enjoyed the two large flat-screens with games on. The service could have been better - our server only came to the table once after food was delivered & that was to drop off the bill. Nice local pho place. As another Yelper mentioned, seated quickly and with large waters with lemon. Had the P5 (Pho Tai Nam) Large for $12.90 (w/ tax). Portions were good for a Large. Noodles slightly undercooked, but not to the point where it was unedible - 7/10 (and the broth came out hot, noodles cooked a bit while I ate even). Broth was excellent, 8/10. Just the right about of meat, but you can never have enough at a pho restaurant. Nice to scratch the itch for pho while I was visiting Golden. read more
