Well....I eaten here many times and I have to say I've eaten my last Banh Mi here. They are now using a huge piece of "American" sub bread instead of authentic French bread. The meat is still great but that's the only thing that saved the sandwich. They also only added carrots and not pickled daikon. My son said it's like eating a banh mi be tween two 2x4s. Can't speak to the pho and vermicelli, it was always good. I won't be finding g out. So long Pho Hau 2, it was a good run, off to find the next best bahn mi. read more

My family has been coming here for about 10 years. Every time, the food, service and atmosphere are the same. Consistently fresh, delicious broth, meat and veggies have kept us coming to this pho spot for years. Their boba smoothies are tasty and go great with a bowl of pho. The spring rolls with tofu are delicious, the peanut sauce goes great with them. The portion is large, the staff are always friendly and we always get our food within 10-20 minutes of sitting down. This is easily my favorite Bahn Mi place in a good 15 mile radius. I adore this sandwich. And I've had many. The bread - it's perfect. There isn't so much bread that your sandwich gets lost inside but there's enough to cradle the BBQ pork, the cucumber, the carrot slices, cilantro, and thick jalapeño slices. So dang good. Pho is average. Quantity is quite small vs price. 15 for a medium and I got over charge for extra meat, didn't order any extra. Missed it on recipe since I was in a hurry. That is my fault there. Ordered takeout. Got home and all the veggies and tofu were ice cold as if they were just taken out of the fridge. When we called to ask if this is how they normally prepare it she said to just add the cold veggies to the broth and microwave it. My new favorite pho place. The service was very excellent. Everybody there was extremely nice and very attentive to my girlfriend and I without bothering us. They were very quick with food, getting our appetizer within 5 minutes of ordering and entrees within 10 minutes. The crab and cheese wontons were fairly large and very good. We also ordered pho and a rice bowl. The small pho was a good quantity even while I was hungry, and both were very delicious. Pho restaurants tend to be pretty empty and quite - not this one! It's not loud, but you won't be dining in silence here either. The restaurant was about half full and had a very comfortable feel. I would highly recommend this restaurant! read more

This is a local place for me and while I've had better Pho, this is the one I continuously come back to. Egg rolls are great, Pho broth is worthy, meats are sourced well (including seafood, tendons, etc.), and house plates are good (try other dishes, you might be surprised). Portion sizes are actually my preference. Yes, most places give a bigger bowl but I don't feel the need to have all my meals 1,000 calories and able to feed most of a whole family. I always feel comfortably fed when I leave. The prices have increased, but I'd prefer for people to make enough money to live over me getting to eat out on a lower budget. People that make me good food should probably get paid well for it. This isn't the best Pho you'll ever have, but it is consistent, tasty, and worth your time/money. Also PSA, don't order Pho from delivery services and then complain about it. Cold food is different from hot food, re-heated food is different from freshly hot food. Not all foods will give the same experience delivered as in-house. I've never had a delivered Pho that stood up against the same in the restaurant. read more

Wow! As a Viet no Knees person, I personally do not go to Vietnamese restaurants for good service. We are known for our bad service, it is in our genes. But man, these people have really mastered the art of bad service. "Sucks" doesn't do it justice, no they are way worse. When I was a young warthog, I too served tables myself in a restaurant that I completely am making up. I used to serve tables wearing boxer shorts and a short off-white "wife beater" tank top. I always had a cigarette hanging out of my mouth and I would always scratch my belly when I took the customer's orders. People always had to looked away as they ordered. But was I this bad? Heck no!?! Today, I walked in with 2 other people. They gave us one cup of water. So there we were, sitting there, trying to decide who was going to get the water. I decided to do a little thought experiment and just not say anything to see if they would notice. They never noticed So we caved about 3/4 of the way through our meal and asked for water. Also pay attention. When they come to the table with food. Their thumbs stuck deep into my soup. Disgusting. She had some long nails too. The soup itself was salty. Broth flavor was ok. The prices were higher than most Pho places so I was expecting good food. What the heck did I just experience!?!? This place...wow. read more

The spring rolls were pathetic to what they used to be. The soup was watery. The bill was $28 with a $5 tip. I can't ever tip less than 20%. This restaurant has to be the worst experience for us . Called and ordered Pho to go and the lady couldn't wait to get rid of me on the phone . I didn't get to finish asking her something and she already hung up on me . Picked up Pho and literally came with one tiny slide of rare beef cut in 3 pieces, and the broth tasted like water with no Pho flavor at all . This was my second time visiting Pho Hau 2 - I really wanted some Pho Ga - but I already knew ahead of time I would not be getting a chicken broth with their version of Pho Ga - having gone through this the first time I was there. But I needed a Pho fix - ordered the large Pho Ga. Broth was not bad, just not nearly as good as a quality chicken broth. Aromatics and herbage was fresh for the most part - some of it looked a little past its prime. The chicken was another story. Very tough. My jaw muscles were getting tired after chewing for so long. Chicken in Pho should be tender! (or in any dish for that matter!) The most I can ever possibly give Pho Hau 2 is three stars. This place is great. Contrary to another review I saw I think you really get what you pay for size wise. I got a large bowl for $18 and it was huuuuge. The broth was really lively and well seasoned. This place is a great neighborhood spot for some very tasty pho! The broth is extremely flavorful in comparison to other places I tried. The brisket is extremely tender and also full of flavor! It is a bit on the pricey side, but most likely because it is one of the few spots in the area. The medium size bowl is pretty big and very filling. I usually don't add sriracha or hoisin, but this time around, unfortunately, I did. The meat was also a bit tougher than what I'm used to. Not as marbled on the meat.
