I've had better spring rolls, the #27 seafood noodles barely had any toppings (only two prawns, two small pieces of bass fish, imitation crab, and tons of rice noodles), but the #40 beef stew with rice was pretty good. The beef was really moist, soft, and gelatinous. It came to $30 with tax and tip for the two entrees and an apply. Pretty average bowl of pho with meh service. Wasn't offered any tea or water or given any napkins until asked (after food was served). Prices are in line with other vietnamese restaurants but the place is well lit and kept pretty clean. Bonus is they're open quite late. I tried the Pho dac biet which is what I usually go for on my first visit to pho joints. The broth was pretty bland and meats were subpar. I would honestly be surprised if any Vietnamese people actually come here but it seems like they know their clientele and the tastes they are after. Both Pho Goodness locations are in less traditional neighbourhoods for pho and that works in their favour. This place would get laughed out of Victoria Drive/Kingsway IMHO. read more

These flavours hit hard like Nunes beating Rousey's face. You might pause in between bites goin 'whoa' - that umami gon make you feel some type of way. Whatever flavours they bringing out in their broth, it tastes like natural MSG coming from some herbal shit. I could be very wrong and they could be dumping chemicals in that water... I don't know. Facts don't matter. Either way, it is delicately clean and flavourful. Look, don't be goon and ignore the satay add on. Do it. Satay complements most Pho bowls and it is quintessential thing to do at Pho Goodness. It is this peanut buttery satay sauce that goops over the Pho. Sweet, tangy, sandy, and fucking delicious. Imagine if Peanut Butter dumps his jiggly and droopy ex wife Jelly and got with the exotic Asian shortie, Pho and did the nasty all over your noodle dish. It is literally a sex party in your mouth. One major issue with Pho Goodness is that they will try to get solo diners to share a table with someone else. There is no discount or benefit for the diner -- I guess the savings come with getting seated sooner. Typically this was optional, but now it seems like they're forcing everybody to share tables. we have been coming here for years and have always been happy with the food. However, it now seems this place is suffering from serious shrinkflation. I can certainly appreciate things have gotten more expensive and they have raised their prices which I am fine with. The chicken salad rolls are ridiculously small now though, they are almost 50% smaller than they used to be. They are just lettuce, sprouts and a bit of chicken so it seems like a pretty heavy handed cut back. Unfortunately not sure I will go back again now. read more

Location was quite close to St. Joseph's Hospital where I was taking a family member. I wanted something cold, so I ordered the shrimp salads rolls. The rolls came to my table and it looked like they gave me four. But it was really two extra long rolls cut in half! Very fresh and filling, good peanut sauce! Friendly, attentive service. Casual atmosphere. The staff (owners, I'm assuming?) really care about this place, and it shows. We shared shrimp salad rolls, which were excellent. Lots of fresh, crisp veggies inside the rolls with substantially sized shrimp/prawns. The peanut dipping sauce was light and delicious. We both had classic rare beef pho. The broth is aromatic and flavourful - not too salty. Bean sprouts and basil were fresh. Overall, my impression of this place is excellent. When I asked the server why people who arrived and ordered after we did had their food already, I was told they ordered before they arrived. When I pointed to a second table that arrived and ordered after us the response was that they couldn't control the order that the kitchen makes the food. Hello, I am very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered for delivery and I received the wrong meal. They did not call to tell me they could not make changes (ie. swap tofu for beef). The name says it all! Food and price and ambiance were all good!!!! Portions for the noodles and the bahn mi were larger than average. The broth was very flavorful and they seem to add five spice onto their rare beef. Pretty clean compared to the conventional pho places. The pork patties are made by the owner's mother, she knows what's going on! Perfectly seasoned and peppery tasting. Green papaya salad was also super tasty with a nice sweet/salty dressing/sauce. Came here on a cold snowy day and was happy to see they had bun cha ca on the menu! Their bun cha ca came with large pieces of fried fish cake, fresh tomatoes and dill and perfectly cooked noodles. I stopped in here for a quick bite while running errands on main to get a bahn mi to go. The woman at the cashier was rude - no getting around that but seemed to perk up after a few minutes. All I asked was which bahn mi was the most popular and she pretended not to hear me (the restaurant was pretty dead at this time) and then snapped at me. If you don't know, then say so and if you do, then answer a paying customer. I just wanted to make a knowledgable decision, given that I've taste some really terrible bahn mi in the past. I ended up ordering the pork and specifically asking that they do NOT package it in styrofoam or a plastic bag - as I never accept either of those things - and I have to say that I am really grateful they complied, but in the end the pork was overdone and soaked in salty bbq sauce, but the veggies were well-julienned with some pickled onion thrown into the crust french loaf. An okay experience, but all the good reviews make me wish I had a better experience. In a place like Vancouver, with over 5000 restaurants, who has time to try one twice? Really solid pho at decent prices! This is clearly a popular spot, as there was about a 20 minute wait for 2 at 7:30pm on a chilly Thursday night. There were lots of people doing takeout too. We discovered this little gem near our house recently and we are so surprised why we haven't been here much sooner! This place is fantastic and is now our regular pho place, trumping all other pho restaurants nearby. We had the spring rolls (without the salad roll) and it was great. Crispy, tasty and hot. Right amount of meat and the fillings were delicious with a nice crunchy texture. Now that I see other reviews with spring rolls inside a salad roll, hello!! I know what I am ordering next. We also had the lemongrass chicken with pho and that was delish. My husband loves lemon grass chicken dishes and now that it combines with pho, he's in heaven. I have ordered their house special pho a couple of times now and it is superb everytime. The soup is delicious without being too salty, meat is tender and fresh and the herbs are great. So here's our experience yesterday from this resto. My friends visited from a different country and we decided to have PHO so I took them here thru help of YELP. We Got to the restaurant and a couple of my friends went inside first then sat right away (wasn't busy at that time) So I sat where my friends were sitting then this server came up to us and asked rudely "Why you here" (broken english) , thought she was kidding or joking then she kept asking us why we sittting there , so I answered " We want to eat" she said wait outside before go in so I apologize at her. Then she didn't stop being rude there she just walk past us several times without asking/offer for drinks even tho place wasn't busy. She even entertained the other group who just arrived and grabbed their order before us. Now I got pissed but didn't say or do anything. I didn't want her to spit on our food. Food came and taste was okay. I had better pho in east Van , we finished eating didnt even finish the food and my friends paid at the front cashier (I think the asian lady is the owner) she seems nice and my friend tried to pay U.S cash but they declined so Friend use card instead and paid for food WITHOUT giving any TIPS then we were on our way out the Cashier chased us and asked for TIPS! Watta a joke they don't deserve any tips. Worse customer service In history of PHO world. That server was absolutely nightmare. Never gonna come back! I gotta say that of the time I stayed in Vancouver (first time visitor), I came here twice and that already says a lot. I've had their pho tai and the vermicelli with beef and shrimp rolls. If I could've, I would've went for a third time before flying back to try their banh mi and pork chop over rice but I'll leave that for the next visit. Their pho broth tastes pretty hearty and since I've only had pho at one other restaurant, I really can't compare it to others (yet). It was also one of the rarest moments when I couldn't finish an entire bowl which could have been a result of being bloated from the flight but it definitely still hit the spot! I got my "Pho" on here twice now: both times delicious and aPHOrdable. I sampled one of the Phos. I forget which one, but the broth was absolutely yummy. But what I really love to taste here is the Grilled Lemon Grass Pork Chop with a Fried Egg on Rice. Hands down the best lemon grass chicken I had compared to anywhere in town. Cooked to perfection every time and full of flavour. A must try! I've tried a few of their pho noodle soups and vermicelli bowls they were all very tasty. The satay soup and the beef stew is one of my favs. Restaurant is clean and spacious, not like some other places where it's crammed and super close to the table next to you. Popped in for a quick dinner and wasn't too impressed. Pho is crazy good in this city, and this place was just OK. The broth was nice, but weirdly it was too hot! It took forever to cool down and being pretty hungry it took a while to get through. The other problem though was that the meat wasn't that great. The brisket was very tough and not very flavourful. I also ordered some veggie spring rolls. They were good, but the wrapper was more like a traditional chinese spring roll. Not bad, just different than what I expected. The service was oddly attentive for a pho place. I'm used to just ordering, quickly getting served and then being on my way. I was asked three times how everything was or if I needed anything. Nice! This place is brand new. I overheard the owner say they had been open for less than a week. So hopefully it's just a matter of working the kinks out. Recently had lunch at Pho Goodness and I ordered the small WonTon soup and a chicken sandwich. The soup was pretty good and the sandwich was okay. The wontons were okay but I won't order this again because the flavour and consistency was missing something - maybe little shrimp? Everything just tasted okay and not as outstanding as my last visits here. Still good and will return but I think I'll stick to my favourites in the future. read more

This is one of my favorite pho restaurants now. Not only does it have a good variety of pho, vermicelli and other main dishes, it also has special menus and milkshakes that are delicious. I've tried a number of items on its menu and none has disappointed so far. They're usually busy but can manage to turn around tables fast. And I'm happy with their overall service and pricing. I love this place! They have such good food for such a good price. Although the only thing that sucks is that sometimes wait times are a little long. For the most part, I know that they try to seat people as quickly as possible, but I know because of the limited space, they can only seat so many people at once as there is not a huge variety of how much they can seat at any one time, but when you're hungry and wanting food right away, sometimes your reasoning ability isn't as strong haha. Food tasted good, but was barely warm when served. I came in before the lunch rush and since it was a warm day I opted to not have pho, but went for the lemongrass pork and shrimp on rice noodles. My food was served later than other diners, who arrived after me; and I don't know if it was sitting forgotten in the kitchen before being served to a single female diner. It tasted delicious, but would probably have been 4 stars, if it had been hot.
