After running a few errands in the area, Marissa C and I found ourselves hungry and craving something that would warm us to the core: enter Pho Haus. Having had them bookmarked for a while, I was excited to finally give them a try. SPACE: The interior is full of wood touches and a variety of iron bicycle elements. It's quite cozy. There's also some large roll-up doors for those wonderfully sunny Colorado days. SIPS: I usually snag a Thai iced tea, and this time was no different. It was the perfect pairing with my savory pho. They do offer Vietnamese coffee, beer, and wine as well to help wet your whistle. SUSTENANCE: We have our usual order dialed in: crab cheese wontons and 2 small rare steak phos. We didn't realize there were two types of pho and opted for the traditional pho versus the haus pho. Whoops - next time! That being said, it was perfect. The broth was well seasoned and piping hot; the cuts of steak were tender and fresh. The wontons were fried just right, but the dipping sauce felt like it was missing something. I visited Pho Haus for the first time because of the great reviews on Yelp. It was in a cute area near Washington Park. Parking was easy to find (Saturday night). We did not have reservations but the place was not crowded and we were able to get a table right away. The restaurant is run by a Vietnamese owner so I was excited to try it and did come with high expectations (considering I am Vietnamese). I got the Haus Pho, per the waiter's recommendation, as well as the pork belly banh mi. The pho is a solid 4/5. The broth is perfect. It is a bit spicy (very manageable even for someone with a low spice tolerance), sweet, sour, and tangy. It was very refreshing. The substance in the broth however lacked flavor. I got the trio meat and it seems like they were pre cooked and a bit dry. There weren't a lot of meat either. The noodles were pre cut, which some people prefer but I like mine with a chew. The pork belly banh mi (1 out of 5) is not your traditional banh mi. The banh mi bread was not crispy at all. There is only one thin slice of pork belly and a lot of veggies and mayo. The mayo was way too overpowering. The fries however were crispy and delicious. read more

I went out of my way to write a review for Pho Haus because it's AWESOME. I've done delivery. I've done takeout. Miraculously I haven't actually dined inside because parking in this area sucks. My wife and I were craving some hot pho goodness and decided to give Pho Haus a try. We were seated immediately (around 5:30pm) and shortly after every table filled up. We had to ask about the phoritto since I had seen it mentioned on several other reviews, but it was not available currently. We started off with some shrimp spring rolls, which were fresh tasting and served with a side of peanut dipping sauce. We settled on the Haus and traditional pho so that we could compare the broths side be side. They were both seasoned perfectly and were delicious in their own way. I couldn't say one was better than the other. I usually add hoisin and sriracha to my pho, but I felt like the Haus pho did not need any altering. I ordered the trio and all three meats were great. It was good down to the last drop and it thoroughly hit the spot. Our server was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean. We were able to park on the street (free) and walk a short distance to the restaurant. We will definitely be back when we are craving pho! read more

This is by far one of the top pho spots in denver. We have never been her for dine in, so we can't comment on that service but having ordered takeout 4-5 times now we have noticed that certain foods are going to be consistently better. The parking for pickup is always a little tricky especially during peak hours, but the space to wait indoors is pretty generous. The traditional pho broth is delightful, however I have enjoyed the Haus Pho broth more. Both come with truly fresh the ingredients, are well portioned and they took in to account some allergies. A few of the other dishes we always get include the fresh spring rolls and the pork belly Bahn Mi sliders. Both are incredible and high recommended! read more

I'll just get right to it. To date, this is the best pho place I have ever been to. The use of beef broth here makes the broth so flavorful. I got the grilled chicken in mine, I highly recommend it. I don't really get impressed with pho, around these parts they all seem to taste the same BUT the broth was really good but what stood out to me the most was their noodles. Something about it was really good down to taste and texture. It absorbed the broth really well. The only issue I had were the meatballs were more chewy than I like. The restaurant had a nice ambiance with quirky decor, it wasn't like a typical pho place in the city. Even the bathrooms were modern and clean. Just amazing. I thought that all pho broth was the same until I came here. The flavors are complex and satisfying. They even have three different broths to choose from. I went with the traditional broth because I shared it with my son. I was slightly disappointed they did not offer a children's portion, but they were very accommodating and made something work out. They ended up splitting a bowl and adding chicken on the side. It was perfect. I normally have and always order rare meat. Tonight was no different. I tend to go out of my way for a good pho broth, so when my viet nail tech recommended this place over another "because the broth is better", you know I went running to get a taste. Although this restaurant is more "hipster" than other Vietnamese restaurants, everything about the experience would suggest authenticity. After ordering two $6 pints of beer, the appetizers (crab rangoon & pork patty spring roll) came out. A word: don't sleep on the pork patty spring rolls! I've never tried that type of pork patty in a spring roll, usually just put over rice or noodles, but boy, am I a believer now! It went so well with their peanut sauce and the crunchy stick stuck into the spring roll. The crunchy spring roll stick (which I think is just a fried, rolled up wrapper) made such a difference just by sheer crunch factor. With an excited, smiling face, the chef/kitchen staff then brought out the Haus pho, which is a family recipe and entails a spicier broth including shrimp paste. It smelled and tasted so authentic, but wasn't too spicy, fishy, or salty, so I basically drank the entire bowl. I got the trio meat--filet, brisket, and meatball. The meatballs were cut into halves, making them easier to pop in your mouth. I left with a full belly, utterly impressed with the shrimp paste aftertaste. You may spend a tad bit more overall than other Vietnamese restaurants in the vicinity, but the location is great (although a bit difficult to find close parking) and the food is even better. I would become a regular if they had a Pho Haus in my city! read more

Great pho place!! The serving sizes were huge, and sooo many noodles it was great! I got the chicken pho and my boyfriend got the brisket, and both were good! The broth wasn't the best I've had in the world, but it was good and I would be happy to go here again! My only suggestion is that the crab rangoons were pretty dry and could have used a lot more filling, the sauce was really sugary, almost like orange syrup. Pho Haus has got the goods. If you're looking for a big bowl of delicious soup with a medley of fresh and colorful ingredients, this is it. This is definitely my favorite go-to restaurant to warm up when it's cold outside. I like to order the crab cheese wontons for starters, Haus Pho broth with grilled shrimp, and hot sake. The grilled shrimp is a must to try. This broth is loaded with flavor and has just a hint of spice. I prefer my food mild but I don't consider it spicy at all. It's always served piping hot and I just love the presentation. The only thing I would change is the amount of rice noodles in the pho, I think it would be better with less noodles and will remember to request that next time. The dining experience is always phenomenal. I like to come here for a date and with friends too. It's super cozy and makes me feel right at home. The interior has a warm ambience with low-lighting and super cute light fixtures of small bicycles hanging from the ceiling. The quirky signs on the wall really gives this place its personality. I've always had a great experience with the customer service here. The staff is very hospitable, they'll stop by the table a couple of times to make sure that I'm happy with the food and have everything I need. I like that it's a smaller sized restaurant so the customers are always well taken care of while dining and it doesn't feel overwhelming. Although it is a small dining room, the tables are well spaced apart and they did a good job not to cram them all together. Parking can be tricky here because there is no parking lot at the restaurant but it's nestled in a neighborhood with plenty of off-street parking so you'll want to come a little early to find a space. read more
