    10. Pho Bo Kho
    Evan M.

This place has been around almost as long as I've been alive and it's never let me down. A lot of Vietnamese spots over the years have started shrinking portions and raising prices but I've never noticed that here. I always get the Bo Kho. It's a rich beef stew with a strong tomato base. Super beefy and super tomatoey, kind of like the tomato broth at hotpot if you know what I mean. Since the flavor is bold, a lot of places end up making it too salty but this one gets it just right. The meat is brisket with tendons running through it, which gives it great texture and that melt in your mouth feel if you're into that. They're also generous with the amount of meat they give. The staff are really friendly. The same waitress has been there for years and usually recognizes regulars.

Came for a quick lunch after a pedicure appointment as this was nearby. Noticed some hair and dirty stuff in the spoon area after I already placed my order (see picture). I had ordered a vegetable summer roll and a pho noodle soup. By this point, I was already kinda gross out and didn't enjoy my meal as much. I didn't want to use the spoon and use napkin to wipe my utensils before eating. Perhaps the mess was from previous customers? I didn't even bother to take a picture of my pho noodles and just quickly ate (tried not to think) and left. This cap off my horrible morning already and hope the rest of my day gets better.

Home-y, authentic Vietnamese food. The service is always fast, whether you are ordering togo or dining in. I highly recommend the avocado smoothie if you're up for a sweet, creamy treat! Today, I ordered the cha gio bun thit nuong, which was deliciously refreshing!

Called to have my order for pick up. They are cash only but also accept debit. I'm really picky about my Vietnamese food and when I picked up there were signs in Vietnamese from their grand opening and Vietnamese music playing so that put me at ease haha! Pork and vermicelli was solid. I got the large sized Canh Chua Ca/sweet sour soup with salmon and I should have stuck with a regular because that came in 2 quart containers but Hey! Dinner for a couple of days! The salmon was cooked to perfection. Also got dessert, Che Ba Mau and it was so tasty. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Ordered Com Pork Chop, Shredded Pork and Crab Patty. Very tasty old school Vietnamese flavors and texture. Beef Stew with Baguette. Balance Sweet and Crispy Bread. Homestyle taste. Highly recommended Vietnamese place in Bay Ridge. Closed Tuesdays. Very attentive waiters and quick service. Vietnamese traditional decorations take you back in time,

The pho in this store is okay. Have many tables to sit. The noodles are firm and little smooth. The beef is little dry. All taste alright.

This is my go-to Vietnamese spot in Brooklyn. My mom used to take me and my siblings here when we were younger, and I remember her having conversations with the same staff still there today. Whenever I go to Vietnamese restaurants nowadays, I don't really hear people speaking Vietnamese, so this place brings me comfort. I've had multiple dishes from their menu and enjoyed them all. I always start with Goi Cuon and end with Che Ba Mau every visit. Some of my favorite dishes are Goi Tom, Bun Bo Luc Lac, Bun Tom Nuong, Com Suon Bi Cha, Pho Do Bien, and Pho Bo Kho. I'm a creature of habit, but maybe I'll branch out and try a different dish each time I revisit going forward.

The food was good. Squid crunchy weather a nice sweet sour sauce. The pho was delicious, was missing the bean sprouts and basil..but it worked. Service was decent, timely, staff seemed helpful. Ambiance gave a traditional Vietnamese dining vibe.

The grilled chicken with vermicelli and beef pho always my favorite. The service is okay. Had to call over for water multiple times and for the check. The staff is very friendly. The ambiance is simple. Kind of the same as every other Vietnamese restaurant I've been too. Food is always great. Cash only.

I came here and I really enjoyed this Vietnamese restaurant. I love a good fresh, clean soup and clean environment. The menu has a lot of food I have yet to try, but what I did eat was very satisfying. I had the cha gio Vietnamese spring rolls as an appetizer and the fried calamari. They were both very crispy to the bite and so good. The spring rolls have meat inside. I then ordered the big bowl soup, xe lua pho. Comes with mint leaves on the side and bean sprouts. The soup itself consists of rice noodles with beef brisket, navel, frank, omosa tendon, and eye of round. Very fresh, very delicious. The service was nice and timely and kind. I will be back and try more of this restaurants' food

This place is bullshit. Don't come here. Never in my life order pho with this small portion. I was on the way home and saw this restaurant and decided to give a shot. Ordered take out and once I open up the bag . Im in shock. The portion size is worst of any viet restaurant. The takeout box for the noodle is not even half full, it's only 1/3 full. The soup was only half full on the container, and the meat was literally Fkin 5 piece. Come on bro. I know business is hard now days but you can't be scamming people when they order take out, minimizing the portion and all. Never will I visit this place again.

This place was okay, we were looking for someplace quick and cheap. It was really cold so we wanted something hot. I got the pho special, and we got the curry chicken, rice noodles with spring rolls, and a bahn mi. Their service was pretty quick and the staff were friendly. The pho broth was okay, it was hot. But it wasn't that flavorful. The beef tendon was sliced really thin which I liked. The curry chicken was good, and the rice noodles with spring rolls was also good. Nothing really stood out. I really wanted dessert, but we were so full from all the food!

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point

I also loved that they chop up the cilantro, so you're not spending a whole minute trying to chew through the stems.
