I've dined here a few times with my coworkers and I've got them hooked on Pho Houston and it has became part of our diet once a week for the few weeks we were in Houston. Although it's not the best pho I've ever had, it's still pretty good especially in Houston. The prices are so cheap! The value is so great. FOOD: - FRIED EGG ROLLS: definitely an appetizer that you can share as the order comes with four egg rolls and the fish sauce for dipping. I would say it's a solid and standard Vietnamese egg roll. It was crunchy when I bit into it. - PHO ($6.25 for Regular and $6.95 for Large): I've tried multiple variations of their pho with meatballs, slice rare steak, and brisket. All are very good and flavorful. Their pho has cracked black pepper which is new to me of a pho restaurant. Each order of pho comes with a side of toppings such as fresh bean sprouts, lime wedges, and sliced jalapeño peppers to accompany your pho. There are also condiments on every table to dress up your pho and other dishes. - #8 COM BO LUC LAC ($9.45): very popular and staple dish in a pho restaurant. It is also called and known as Shaking/Shaken Beef. I typically recommend this dish to anyone who hasn't had Vietnamese Food before. It's basically sliced steak cooked medium and tossed with a flavorful brown sauce and sautéed onions. It all goes well with the steamed white rice or fried rice and veggies. It does come with a dipping sauce that you make yourself out of black pepper, salt, and a lime wedge. You will dip the steak pieces in the sauce, but I typically don't use the sauce as the steak already has flavor. They will only give you a side soup (which tastes similar to the pho broth) if you dine in. They will not give you the soup if you dine out. Overall, definitely would dine here again the next time I'm in Houston and nearby. They do close really early, like 6pm I believe. read more

mmmm PHO..... this place has good food friendly servers and its pretty fast on everything you order and its all hot and fresh. the shrimp pho is one of my top favorites. they do have take out pho and they package everything separate so when you get home just heat up the broth and pour it into the bowl they give you with your noodles. they also give you enough bean sprouts basil lemon and mint in a bag when you order your pho to go, oh i forgot about the spring rolls ive had the shrimp and pork spring rolls and simply stuffed goodness price wise is reasonable and worth a try read more

Flew into Houston last night. Kid wanted pho, so we found this place. Good sign: Local firefighters were dining when we walked in. Food and service was great. So much that I didn't realize they close at 6! It was 6:20 when we finally left. We had Pho and Rice with grilled pork! Tasted like mom's cooking. read more

It was lunchtime and I wanted to get some pho. I googled for a place nearby and Pho Houston was the closest. Even though it was busy, I was received promptly and was also able to order quickly. I ordered a pho with beef and meatballs, and a soy bean drink. The drink can't out immediately and pho soon followed. The most important part, the taste: The pho had no flavor. I usually refrain from putting hoisin sauce and siracha, but I had to put a good deal to get a good taste. The noodles were well cooked. A nice balance of softness and firmness. The soy drink was good. Sweet and refreshing. Overall, the service is good and fast, but the most important part, the pho, was well below average. read more

LOVE this place - it's cheap, food is great and addictive. I've had a bunch of entree's from here but keep going back to the Bún tht nng (rice vermicelli noodles with grilled pork) and the shrimp spring rolls. The pork is tender with charred tips in a teriyaki like sauce; marry that with the cold noodles, julienne cucumber, lettuce, bean sprouts and a sprinkle of peanuts on the top and you have a winner! A small place right next to I-45 before (I think?) Best Buy. Standard size booths but the tables in the center are small...like xs if tables come in clothing sizes. Not sure if a table can handle 2 orders of food plus the veggie plate for pho. Very clean though. Anyway, ordered a small beef noodle soup (pho) - at first taste I thought the soup was a bit salty but it was bland to my bf. The meat is sliced Very Thinly and they skimp on the meat. I was disappointed at the amount of meat they place in your pho - I expect "too much meat and not enough noodles" - this place you get "enough noodles and hardly any meat". The vermicelli is cooked well (not overdone) and brought out ample amounts of fresh vegetables. Also ordered eggrolls that we didn't receive - I guess they are still working on the new hires (aka family members). The cashier (part owner perhaps?) was really apologetic and sincere. This place is a solid option for pho up north. A strong contender! Even the banh mi is pretty good. Not the best, but not bad. The bread is fresh. Service is sooo friendly! Great food, tremendous value Had the shrimp spring rolls, shrimp soup with rice noodles, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was delicious and it was enough for 2 full meals. I took it to go and also bought a Vietnamese coffee, which they were great to not put ice in it as I intended to drink it in the morning. This place is a little hidden gem in the Greenspoint area. The staff and service were great and very friendly. I tried the BBQ pork sandwich and it was good. Actually I have to admit that the French baguette was one of the best I've tried in town. The baguette was just right, crispy outside and soft inside. Wow I've been eating at this place for a few years now and I love it every time I go. Me and my mother come here so often that the waitress looks at us and say, "So two ice teas, and order of egg rolls and two large #12?" Lol she knows us so well. Decent Vietnamese food for the area. Come here for lunch now and then, as does everyone else in the area. They are packed from 12-12:30, but clear our quick after that. There is better Vietnamese food in Houston, but not in this area, and it's still well above average. Pho and Bun are both good, and they have sandwiches which is a big plus for lunch. Actually their sandwiches are better than most places - one of the rare places where the french bread used is soft. Very tasty. Where this place excels is in their service. Even if it's packed, they acknowledge you when you walk in and will make a spot for you. Order is taken fast and water is refilled quickly. Food comes out as it's cooked, so everyone at your table might get food at different times, but it's fresh. The older owner/register lady is extremely friendly. She taught us how to make the proper sauce to mix into the Pho and dip the meat in. I appreciate that and now use this technique everywhere and look like a pro. read more

I come here at least 3 times a week; always delicious, staff is friendly, and food come out quick. I like the chicken noodle soup, my favorite from all other places. Next in line is the #8 Shaken Beef which I order with a fried egg over the steamed rice. At times order the Grilled Pork Vermicelli bowl which never disappoints. I've never had Pho before. The waitress helped me out, and did not make me feel bad about not knowing anything of this food. With that being said, I can't really tell you where the food was at, good or bad, in comparison to other Pho. I can tell you what I ate was delicious. The dish was piping hot when delivered. I had steak and brisket, in a broth, with rice noodels. I didn't think a soup could fill me up but this one did. The beef, in both cases, was cooked well and had no fat on it. No gristle either. The broth was well developed; though could have used a pinch more salt. Thai Basil was a nice surprise and gave it a hint of sweetness. Drinks were can, but they did at least bring a glass with ice, which made it tolerable. Overall, I would go to this place again. read more

I came to eat here for the first time and I loved it the service is amazing. I love how everything is freshly made and I was quickly attended. My favorite was number 23 on the menu which is a shrimp noodle pho. Now I'm not an egg roll fan but man the egg rolls here are the bomb also the spring rolls are amazing and freshly made. Overpriced for the area you could go up to 1960 to several Vietnamese places there for two to $3 and item list. It took literally 20 minutes to make a chicken sandwich and pork spring rolls. When I came in and everybody was eating and I guess the cook didn't bother to get up and make a customer's food until he finished so I sat there and waited. That alone will make me never come back. The silence was not good the bread was burned the meat was chewy and the spring rolls the pork inside you couldn't really bite a piece without taking all of it out at one time. It just was not good and for $11 with a Vietnamese iced coffee that's ridiculous. Save your money and go to Midtown or Chinatown. Or there's a couple places on 1960 that are much better and decently priced for cheap food. I would have read this place unless you're starving read more

The bahn mi here is so surprisingly delicious. The bread is just soft enough and just crispy enough to be perfect. The meat with cooked to perfection and full of great flavor. I haven't tried the pho here but I can't promise that I ever will get anything besides the bahn mi because it's that good. The staff here is also super nice and accommodating. read more

If you want a quick lunch and close to the airport this is your place. I think they upped their quality recently. Their banh mi sandwich is one of my favorites. Not the same as Les Givral's, but fresh ingredients with good crunchy French bread. Their vermicelli is nice and Pho is good. Again you need to consider what it is, near airport, quick, clean, fresh and affordable Vietnamese. read more
