Pho Houston had many options from sandwiches,pho rice, and protein, platters, and lots of appetizers, including spring rolls and egg rolls. I ordered a large chicken for a beef Bahn mi a pork Bahn mi and a shrimp vermicelli bowl that...

came with an egg-roll. Starting with the chicken pho the broth was extremely rich, but had an over powering flavor of ginger which hindered the the rest of the flavor the broth had to offer the chicken didn't seem to be breast but rather than thighs that were inside the pho which different from pho I had previously even though the chicken had an amazing flavor and the broth and chicken paired nicely together. Moving on to my beef. Bahn mi which was extremely pleasing the meat was cooked to perfection and had a touch of sweetness that was balanced out by the savoriness of the marinate that it was placed in before being cooked the pickled Daikon and carrots mixed with the jalapeños and cilantro that were also in the sandwich, elevated the sandwich to a whole Nother level. The bread was also extremely fluffy yet crisp on the outside, allow for a Crunch for every bite. The pork Bahn mi was even better. The pork was seasoned so well and so tender and salty the toppings balanced the savory mess of the pork bahn mi quite well. And finally the shrimp vermicelli bowl which was my favorite the noodles and vegetables were so fresh which paired extremely well with the shrimps the shrimp was very fresh as well and tased quite nice and to top it all off an egg roll was also served with the bowl it was piping hot and so crunchy yet soft and the filling on the inside was seasons quite well and tasted fresh a sauce was also paired with it which went quite nicely it was sweet and balanced the egg roll really well. Inside there was also other customers and it was pretty packed for lunch time. That being said I believe that Pho Houston is a pretty busy during lunch. All and all I will say that pho Houston was a pleasure to visit. I also want to highlight the Vietnamese coffee which was extremely delightful. It tasted like a Hershey's bar had met coffee beans and the consistency was very smooth almost like chocolate milk. This coffee was definitely the best part of pho Houston and we will definitely be back.

. That being said I believe that Pho Houston is a pretty busy during lunch. All and all I will say that pho Houston was a pleasure to visit. I also want to highlight the Vietnamese coffee which was extremely delightful. It tasted like a Hershey's bar had met coffee beans and the consistency was very smooth almost like chocolate milk. This coffee was definitely the best part of pho Houston and we will definitely be back.

I got food poisoning from there chicken noodles soup and coffee. Ugh ruined my weekend i was so sick within 5 hours of eating. Never again!

I truly love this Pho restaurant! My family and I have been coming to this very spot for over 10 years ! Since 2008, we've seen at least 3 different family owners of this spot but the recipes have never changed, it's still as amazing as the very first time I ever ate here. Believe me when I tell you that you will enjoy every single bite! My family and I come so often that the wait staff knows all of us and even our entire order (it never changes). I am so thankful to have this little forever pho spot with very polite staff.

I highly recommend the Chicken noodle soup, egg rolls, pork spring rolls, and the Chicken Vermicelli with a side of broth! Happy eating at the best Pho Restaurant in Houston!

Me, my wife and my sister decided to try Pho Houston for lunch. Once we entered. Staff were extremely efficient with seating us although the staff was efficient I will say I didn't feel a nice welcoming and also while ordering I felt rushed and kind of like a nuisance. Order 3 x Grill Beef. 1/3 of the meat was burnt. Also spend half an hour picking out the burnt pieces out of the meat. The meat was full of these stuff, which tastes just like burnt charcoal. And I'm certain will cause cancer. My mom said this is caused by chef not cleaning the pot between dishes.

Been here now 4x in the last 1 1/2 week... Everything that I've had here so far, are excellent. Growing up close to "little Saigon" in Orange County, Ca. I'm spoiled in having vietnamese restaurants/cafe, everywhere and did I mention that we have places there that are 24/7! Lol From pho, vermicelli plate, fried rice to my fave, Vietnamese sandwich. They were ALL good(to my opinion) my weight will attest to this,

Wow! This place is really awesome! First, I appreciate the early hours, I usually eat lunch at 10 due to my early working hours. So the hours are much appreciated. I ordered the eggrolls which I ate every single one. They were pork, which was even better. A lot of places add shrimp to their eggroll mix, I can't have shrimp so this was a great surprise. Next, I custom ordered a bowl of Pho, instead of the reg meat I ordered grilled beef and it was excellent!!! Everything about my experience today was great. Thanks to all the staff, keep up the great work!!

This is located only 5 mins from my job, and I found it through reading Yelp reviews. My fellow reviewers were completely correct as the pho is delicious and plentiful, service is very nice, there's plenty of parking on the back, and the food comes out quickly after you order which is important when you have to get back to work. I've paid more for phos of lesser quality at many places so cheers to this amazing place and the nice family running it. The broth is splendid and flavorful, the beef is tender and non fatty, and the noodles are on point. The XL bowl is huge and at $14 is more than fair. Add a soda for $1.50, and you have a filling meal for the whole day. Do yourself a favor and go there today

If you want a quick lunch and close to the airport this is your place. I think they upped their quality recently. Their banh mi sandwich is one of my favorites. Not the same as Les Givral's, but fresh ingredients with good crunchy French bread. Their vermicelli is nice and Pho is good. Again you need to consider what it is, near airport, quick, clean, fresh and affordable Vietnamese. read more

Came here on tuesday of this week and although the joint may be small, the food was huge. I enjoyed eating the crispy egg rolls for appetizers. The food menu may be limited but there meals are worth it's price. If you happen to be around this area and want to have a quick meal with peace in mind. This is the spot to swing by. Time of service varies, becouse the cashier lady is the waitress, well that's all for now. read more

Pho Houston is a nice clean family owned and run restaurant with simple choices. It's a great place to have lunch with co-workers, friends or just a quick bite by yourself. It's not one of those high-end restaurants where you come in hungry and leave with a big balance on your credit card. So don't expect much like the other fools who posted their reviews before me. Service - excellent. Everyone is really nice, especially the older lady. During lunch time when the place is crowded, you may have to wait longer for the items from the Grill. Food - I like both chicken and beef noodle soup. Stay with rare steak, brisket and meatball. For chicken noodle soup, ask for both white and dark meat. From the Grills, I like grilled pork, grilled chicken dark meat and BBQ Beef. Oh, don't forget to try their fresh orange juice (and I mean fresh) and fresh lemonade soda. If you're a French coffee lover, don't forget to try their coffee with condense milk. Wonderful flavor. One last note, the restroom is clean and fresh, not like the other asian restaurants. read more

WEIRD! how this is my first review and unfortunately it's going to be a bad one. Walking into this brand new restaurant felt like I wanted into a restaurant from Orange County from the1990s. The decors were outdated, the chairs and tables looked old, and whoever designed this place should be put in jail. I was actually a little excited to eat here because I've been passing by the place for a few weeks, since my friend works at the NTB next door. When it was finally time to try their Pho, I was extremely disappointed. Being from Orange County I always thought that Pho everywhere tasted the same. PHO HOUSTON proved me wrong! Their pho was so bland I honestly thought they bought instant pho and put their own ingredients on top of that. I ordered the "dat biet" special large. This plate is supposed to come with a variety of cuts of beef and I know for a fact that I didn't get all the cuts I was supposed to. After taking the first sip of the soup I knew I had to mask the broth by adding black pho sauce and a lot of shriracha hot sauce to mask the msg. After suffering from disappointment for half an hour I left and will never return again. read more

I was a Pho virgin before trying Pho Houston so I don't have other experiences to compare but overall I'd say it's a winner! I have tried two types of Pho from this restaurant and I have been very satisfied both times with the exception of the meatballs. I ordered the brisket and meatball Pho today for lunch and they were very chewy/rubbery tasting. Otherwise the portions are huge and the price is more then reasonable! I will definitely be back on my lunch break but will probably call ahead for take out because they get really busy. read more

I don't usually write review for Pho placed but this place is bomb. I'm from Orange County, CA where they have the most concentrated Viet population so Viet foods are considered good there. But this place beat most Pho places in Little Saigon hands down. Clean, good customer service, and good foods. Highly recommended. read more

This is a good solid Phos place,the broth is really good and the rice noodles are good too. The service is just awesome,servers are mainly Asian ladies and they are really attentive to the customers. My dad had the pho and I had their pork vermicelli noodles. Both plates were good and their prices were fair. read more

Absolutely the best broth I've tasted. Great service and my food always comes out fast and hot. The spring rolls with pork is one of my favorites and the rice plates are delish and of course I come for the pho and bahn mis. After using Yelps "what is close-by" on my Blackberry I tried Pho Houston. I was weary after reading the reviews and I still prefer Les Givral's Bahn Mi but the the Buhn Thit Nuong here and the Cafe Su Da was most memorable. I will be back for a Pho and more but Kim (the manager I think) a slight Vietnamese lady in her late forties was a delight. Kim and her family run what is an ULTRA clean and well equipped at the table place. I don't know why the other two people noted that this was a poor place - I actually enjoyed it. When up north I will stop in again and again to see Kim and enjoy great service, clean tables and great food. Pho anyone? read more

Food tasty, good service and very affordable. Got 2 orders of cold spring rolls, korean rib plate and fresh lemonade for $23. Rolls needed mint (i believe) but were still good. Ribs and lemonade fantastic. Will be back! Great service as well! read more

Service = 5 Stars Food = 4 Stars (taste & portion) Honestly I don't care how the place looks. You can be dirty for all I can (as long as there are no roaches) but I'm a firm believer that the run-a-muck joints are the best foods. Honestly in my opinion, it literally is the best Pho in Houston. Some folks complain about not having enough meat, ask for more they won't mind. Anyway its a good place and very few "homey" places left in Houston. If you go definitely order the Orange Juice (Freshly squeezed) or the Lime Soda (Freshly Squeezed). read more

We have gone for lunch a few times and they are fast! We don't have to wait long at all for the food and its sooooo tasty! I think they changed the recipe on the pho. We can be in and out in about 15 minutes! It could look a little nicer inside though .. read more

I try each time to go there and order something that may be criticized. I continue to fail. The food there is always fresh and just cannot be beat by other Vietnamese restaurants. The number 8 on the menu is something that would please anyone. My daughter refuses to order anything else. It is amazing. The staff are always very friendly and the restaurant itself is always clean. I will not stop going there, period. In fact I will go there for lunch tomorrow. read more

This is the best Pho I have had in Houston. The staff is wonderful and can do customization based on specific dietary preferences. The broth is transformative as is! Their Bo Luc Lac and stir fried veggie and tofu with rice and a side of broth is fantastic. read more

This is the best Pho place in north Houston (i.e. near IAH). They have exceptionally quick service and very friendly staff. Even the buss boy/man, who is deaf, goes out of his way to help customers by finding them seating, getting menus and glasses of water. I go there at 2-3 times a month and the owner now thanks me for my business with a big smile every time I pay. Their English isn't great, but it really doesn't get in the way of ordering. The food is good; the rice noodles in the pho are always cooked al dente and broth is always fresh. The rice plates and Vietnamese sandwiches are about average. The place is very clean as well, including the bathroom. There are a lot of windows so the place has a lot of natural light coming in which help create a pleasant atmosphere. read more

Horrible service and sub-par Pho! I came on a weekday around 11:30. I was not met to be seated and when inquired where I could sit, the lady behind the register pointed to a dirty table. I walked over and used a paper napkin to wipe off the crumbs from the chair. I should have left right then and there. The lady followed me over, handed me a menu and stood above me, not saying a word. I gave her my drink order and she still stood there. So I looked over the menu and ordered. I asked for my table to be wiped down. She motioned like she understood but never returned. My drink was brought out with the Pho vegetables. After 20 minutes my soup finally arrived. It was the wrong order. I informed one of the staff. She went to the back and came out with some beef. She said to put the beef I ordered in and take out the stuff I didn't want. I said I wanted my order. She said it was fine if I just removed what I didn't like. WTF? When I finally ate...it was bland and more like water than soup. BEWARE! read more

Pho Houston is an excellent lunch spot near Greenspoint. The place is spotless and the food is excellent. I have been eating here at least once a week andI have tried most everything on the menu. The Pho is great, but one of my new favorites is the Pork Sandwich served on French bread. The service is wonderful and I am always seated and served quickly. Try Pho Houston for a simple, quick, and delicious lunch. read more

I love their spring and egg rolls! I was hesitant of actually going because I had tried the phó at another location (Bistro by deerbrook mall) and I was disgusted by it. However, my sister convinced me to try this one. As I took a sip I entered heaven! I fell in love with Pho Houston! read more

I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating.
