I've been going to Pho HP off and on for a few years now. It is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in my general area. If i lived closer, i would definitely go more often. It is family owned. It is located in a strip mall in Huntington Beach at the corner of Beach and Main. A very busy intersection. There is parking in front of the restaurant. They have a handicap ramp. The interior design is modern and simplistic. Everyone is always friendly and we Love Amy the owner. Although, we have been missing her over the past couple of visits. When you walk in, you'll get seated right away and the server will bring you a glass bottle of Alkaline water. Nice touch! The menu is simple and on point. They offer all the main traditional Vietnamese dishes. For starters, we ordered the crispy veggie egg rolls which comes with 4 egg rolls, the summer rolls with shrimp which also comes in 4 pieces. As a main course, we got 2 shrimp pho's with vegan broth (yes they brought back the vegan broth) Thank you Amy It is light and goes really well with the shrimp. Make sure to add lots of fresh basil for a flavor boost. And we also got the house garlic prawns which comes with either steam rice or garlic noodles as well as steamed brocoli. Everything is delicious. The Pho noodle soup is a must. It is available with different meats and broths with option of thick or thin rice noodles. In my opinion, It is the best. And i believe that most people go there specifically for their Pho. That is what got me hooked. Overall Pho HP is always a great experience and we will be back again soon. Ordered their spiciest Level 3 Pho Filet, expecting a fiery challenge, but honestly? It wasn't that bad. Either I've built up my spice tolerance or this level 3 isn't as dangerous as it sounds. The broth was flavorful, the filet was tender, and overall, it was a decent bowl of pho. Nothing to complain about, but nothing that makes me rush back either. If you're in the area and need a bowl of pho, it'll do the job, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. If you're someone who loves spice but doesn't want to sign a waiver before eating, this is a good middle ground. Otherwise, better pho spots exist elsewhere. read more

Very spacious and clean restaurant. The staff is so quick and kind. They work hard. As for the food, yummmmm. I ordered the short rib pho. The broth was a little dark but rich. It wasn't salty at all and was very flavorful. The pho comes ợt two ribs and they were very tender. I loved that the pho came with the thick noodles option, which is my preference. I like to go to Little Saigon in the Bolsa/Westminster area when craving various types of Vietnamese dishes. However, it's nice to have a few Vietnamese Fusion restaurants in the nearby Huntington Beach area and this is one of them. I used to go to the Vietnamese restaurant "Pho Saigon" that used to be in this building before "Pho HP Vietnamese Kitchen" took over about 2 years ago. I was delighted to find that I knew the co-owner Amy, who is super friendly and warm. She definitely updated the interior to a more modern and brighter feel. The menu has various options for entrees: Pho (rice noodke soup), Vermicelli Salads, and House Garlic Noodles. Good assortment of appetizers with both meat and vegetarian options: including crispy (fried) egg rolls, fresh (non-fried) spring/summer rolls, garlic chicken wings, truffle fries, and a Golden Pear Salad. My son and I recently came and had the Garlic Noodles with Filet Mignon. I had the Beef Pho with Thin Rare Steak and Beef Ball. Both were delicious and tasty. We've taken our non-Vietnamese friends here often and they all love it. Favorites have been the Garlic Noodles with Filet Mignon or with Shrimp. Please do note that the leave the tail and skin on the shrimp -- I love it because it holds even more flavor (but I know some friends who had difficulty de-shelling or eating the shrimp like this). The oxtail soup is great. My friend raved about the Golden Pear Salad, which tasted fresh, crisp and sweet. It had crispy pears, figs, burrata cheese, arugula, honey roasted nuts, and balsamic vinaigrette. Great blend of flavors! I was really looking forward to try their spicy pho, which received tons of rave reviews from the other Yelpers. Alas, my heat tolerance apparently is not up to par compared to a level 2 spiciness. The criteria for dinner was defined as a place with pho in Huntington Beach that is somewhat coastal. I used to live in this area over 20 years ago. Boy, has it changed in this community. It's amazing that you can now find a Vietnamese restaurant around here. My friend was visiting from Europe and she hasn't been able to find decent pho over there. So Yelp led us to this restaurant and we were pleased with the experience. We came on a Saturday late afternoon. We were waiting for a couple other friends to arrive and so we wandered over to the dollar tree store, which was amusing for my friend and convenient as she needed to pick up a few things. There were just a few other tables occupied. Our server was a very polite and respectful young man. Kudos to him for taking his job seriously and not being rude as I've experienced with many other younger or inexperienced or burnt out servers. My friends were very happy with their selections. We all ordered a different type of entrée. Pho, vermicelli noodles, salad, wings, and shaken beef with garlic noodles. I'd return if in the area again. The kind service made it a pleasant visit. Do NOT order online. TWICE in a row we went to pick up a takeout order for dinner and they "didn't see it" because "their app isn't working" so we were stuck waiting in the restaurant for food that hadn't even been started 10 minutes past the designated pick up window of 25 minutes. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Honestly the best pho is Lotus Bistro in Costa Mesa (formerly of Newport Beach). Pho HP has a much lighter profile in comparison (not as flavorful and savory) but that can be okay once in a while just as something different. I appreciate that you can request chicken breast and specify thick or thin noodles. There's a good portion of meat, I always have extra broth leftover, and I like that it comes with cilantro in addition to basil. Also, there's a tasty ginger sauce on the side that makes it more special. It's also nice that the broth can be poured directly into the takeout container - you don't have to transfer to your own bowls at home - however you do need to heat it up. Both times (despite picking it up fresh in-person due to the above mentioned issue), the broth was cold by the time it reached home (10-15 minutes). For appetizers, the shrimp rolls are really good. We thought $14 for the chicken wings (7) was a bit much but to their credit, they were some of the best fried wings we've had - perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and meaty on the inside. Pho HP has nice food and is a very good option in Huntington Beach, but again we are less than impressed by their online (or lack thereof) ordering. read more

I would love them 100 stars. Visited because of their unique concept of pho hot pot and I fell in love with this place! My wife got the hot pot pho and I ended up with beef garlic noodle. I'm not even gonna comment on food because it's LITERALLY THE BEST PHO and garlic noodle (Viet Lomo Saltado) I've had. What made this place even better than the 10/10 food was the service. Came here with my parents during a trip up to OC. My parents saw this on social media and said we needed to try this next time we went up to OC. We got there on a weekend during lunch and thankfully it was not too crowded. We got seated quickly and looked through their menu. The item that my mom was looking forward to trying out was their Rare Meat Hot Pot Pho which is basically Pho Tai but you get a separate broth for dipping as well. My dad wanted to try their Pho Ga to get the full spectrum of their pho offerings. I was not really feeling soupy so I got their House Garlic Noodle with Shaken Filet Mignon (Bo Luc Lac). All our food came out pretty quickly and we started to dig in. My dish was great, I really enjoyed the consistency of the noodle and flavor as well. The fries were not overly soggy and had a nice crunch to go with the filet. My dish was well seasoned and the portion size was great. It is probably better than The Vox in my opinion so i would definitely come back for that. The pho on the other hand, I tried a little bit of my parents' dishes and we all agreed it was just ok. The broth was not as fragrant as we'd expect it to be and overall the pho was mediocre. Beef pho - Cool presentation with the separate mini fire show for slow cooking your meat. Has a unique strong beef broth taste. My tip is to watch the fire and put extra broth from your bowl of pho into mini pot or you can ask them to reheat. House garlic noodles with beef - Fries themselves have a crispy and umami taste! The garlic noodles were good as well but I prefer the beef to be a little more tender but overall the dish was solid. After having lunch at Pho101 off Edinger & Beach Bl. a couple of weeks ago, I heard about Pho HP from a couple of close friends as well as my parents, so I thought I'd check it out. Pho HP is located across the street from 5-Points Plaza on Ellis/Main St. & Beach, and the interior of the place is so much cleaner than Pho101. I ordered the Beef Pho with the Brisket, Fatty Flank and the Ribeye, and all three of the meats tasted soft and melt-in-your-mouth and not too chewy at the same time. Of course, you get your usual bean sprouts and mint leaves, but the jalapeños were cut finer, which I didn't have much of a problem with. The egg rolls tasted about the same like the ones at Pho 101, since they were made with the similar ingredients, but I thought the ones at Pho 101 had a bit more of a crunch than Pho HP's. But the big difference between the two restaurants that I wanted to tip my hat to Pho HP was NO MSG taste in the Pho. The meats were perfectly cooked and the broth was delicious. If I had to choose between Pho HP and Pho 101 to return to, I'll take Pho HP - it's a bit further of a drive from where I live, but a few miles away is well worth it. read more

I started with their gold pear salad and it was fantastic - bed of arugula, candied nuts, gold asian pears and cheese with balsamic drizzle was a great combination. Pho HP is one of the few spots where I can confidently say that their pho is top notch. Their broth is flavorful but not too oily or fatty and their noodles are very silky and light. 1. So this isn't really an "update" because Pho HP is a new restaurant. It's not a continuation of Pho Saigon. 2. The pho here is good. My Vietnamese friends locally and from Vietnam all think so. 3. They give you a separate hot pot to cook your rare beef if you elect the pho rare beef hot pot. 4. Pho HP stands for Pho Hai Phuong, not hot pot. Hai Phuong is a coastal city in Northern Vietnam. Ok, those things being said, they also serve alkaline water as their normal water. As of the time of this posting, they are offering a free drink for checking in on Yelp or Google.
