What a surprising find in the heart of HB! My vietnamese coworker was raving about this place and its pho soup has is made with a secret ingredient. Hands down one of the best pho soups I've tasted in my recent pho tours. Growing up in Bolsa I was skeptical of an HB pho spot named "Pholuscious" but that quickly went away after my first bite. My go to here is the beef rib bones pho which is consistently fall of the bone tender. The broth is flavorful and stays hot due to the stone bowl. Recently moved to the area for work and have taken many friends and colleagues here and it has never disappointed. Service is excellent. Shoutout to Jessica who is always friendly and gives great menu recommendations! Definitely my favorite pho restaurant. I used to be a fan of Pho 101, but this place is now my #1. The food is delicious, they're open late & the service is always great! I always order #12, well done brisket. My boyfriend always gets #8, build your own. The broth is savory, the meat tastes good, it's nice, thin, tender and lean. It's not as fatty as other places, which is a plus for me. The veggies are fresh, the vinegar onions are actually good and yummy. They have all the sauces you need, including the chili oil. The stone pot maintains the broth nice and warm. There's plenty of tables/seats. All the workers are nice & friendly. Shout out to John, he always helps us out. Always a great place to go! We live in Ncal and when we go to Disneyland d we make sure to stop here and have one of their delicious dishes!!!! The staff is friendly, place is clean and the food is terrific! We always have great service. One of my favs is their spring rolls, I love them!!! Compared to other late night pho spots (open til midnight), this one's the best. We came around 10pm on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy. We got seated immediately though. Pho comes in hot stone bowl which keeps it hot longer. Also came with side of nuoc beo (fatty oil) and vinegar onions. Bean sprouts were blanched which I appreciate. Egg rolls were decent. This pho restaurant is 2 doors down from Pho Lab but this location is ideal bc it's in the same minimall w Walmart so both restaurants are doing really well w the WM shoppers. This was my 2nd time so I'm sure my review is accurate. It was a very cold and windy day, I walked in to buy some take outs but it looked festive bc the New Year vibes were still in the air so I decided to dine in, it was a mistake as we had the last table right by the door and it felt like I was in an igloo. They had a huge banner advertising their pho was only $13 next to Pho Lab I think was $17, furthermore they had this new gimmick pho in a metal type container supposedly it kept the pho hot but let me tell you, it did nothing, the pho was lukewarm to start and the wind from people getting in and out made the pho cold in no time. The broth was bland and sweet to me, It did not have enough bone and I was shocked they had the pho noodle from China, not the fresh one as in 80% of the Pho restos nowadays, I usually walked out bc I refused to eat factory noodles they crumbled and turned sour bc of the chemicals they used to bleach the noodles after I learned about all the chemicals from my trip to China. The shaken beef called Lomo saltado bc they imitated the green sauce from the Peruvian cuisine but failed, it tasted Ok but a little sweet w cilantro mixed in. It came out so fast I suspected it was precooked as it was also only lukewarm, my husband was impressed so I let him eat it as the filet was not very tender. Everybody was very young and energetic, the customer service was wonderful but I thought they lacked culinary experience. I'm a news freak so do not join any local community forum, I was shocked my husband told me many Americans are very upset there were too many Pho restaurants taking over all over town, it's ridiculous 2 pho restos in the same mall and every other block there are more taking over all the out of business restos. I can count on my fingers the few restaurants serving American cuisine. People are even furious the Recess Room went out of business and Pho Hanoi is coming very soon, I'm looking forward to it bc I read they were famous in San Jose even though temporarily I'm PHO-OUT!!! LOL!! I'm craving Chinese food but there are so few Chinese restaurants in Orange County. Tried the beef bone pho and overall it was really good. The broth had strong, rich flavor without being greasy, and the marrow bones were massive with tender meat that fell right off. Herbs and condiments were fresh and plentiful, which I always appreciate. Service was excellent -- Jonathan was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of. Only small knock is the broth could've been a touch hotter when it hit the table, but flavor-wise it definitely delivered. Portions were filling and it scratched that comfort-food pho craving. The second time, we did a call in order and it was utterly disappointing. The broth was oddly sweet and tasted Americanized. There's so many other pho places that have better broth. The toppings for the pho like the basil looked like it was already picked by other people. It was just the stems...basically we just got the leftovers. The garlic noodles we ordered had raw onions and barely cooked bell peppers, while the meat was overcooked. I was in the area again, visiting my friend before she went back home out of the country. We had an impromptu lunch and I took her to a pho place. I figured this would be an opportunity for her to have some authentic pho before going back to Europe. Found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint! It's located in the same center as Walmart so there is plenty of parking available and several other nearby restaurants. Interestingly, there was another pho restaurant in the same center. I learned from our server that the other restaurant opened up about four years ago and this place just opened up a little over a year ago. It was spacious and clean inside the restaurant and welcoming. A nice perk was that the pho is served in a stone pot, which I have not had the opportunity to try yet until today. We both enjoyed our bowls and I nearly slurped up all the broth. I really loved and appreciate that the broth stayed hot until the very end. Our servers were very kind and attentive and checked on us a couple times. Extra bonus points for my friend's to go request of bringing home her leftovers since she cannot eat a lot. They gave us a little extra broth upon request. So nice! I will certainly return to try the other dishes when I'm in the area. read more

Very fresh. Very good. Peanut sauce was on point. (52) met with daughter's ringing endorsement. (53) and (34) were ok. So, the service started out fine. Seated right away, drink orders taken, food orders taken. But, there was a long empty void at one point as we finished up our meals and waited to ask for our check. I dined here for the first time and was served by a young man with glasses. The receipt said the cashier was "Sammy", so I am not sure if the server was "Sammy" or that was the cashier's login. Anyway, he has horrible service and the sole reason for leaving a tip(a decent one too) was he was standing right there with the credit card machine to close out the bill. He took our order and didn't even place our dishes in front of the right persons. He walked away, even though we said it was the opposite placement. The shaken beef is excellent. Flavor is very good. I find it very interesting that they mix French fries with noodles. Not my liking, but it must be popular since it's in the menu. I ordered the Ribeye and Fries, totally forgetting that the meat here is sliced rather than cubed. I've had it before, and if I'd remembered, I probably would've chosen something else this time. The marinade is pretty good, but the slices are so thin it's hard to tell it's ribeye--you miss out on that rich, fatty flavor and texture. I wouldn't call this area of town a mecca of Vietnamese cuisine, but it is easy to consider with the incredible number of South Asian dining destinations within such a small area. That said, Pholuscious is very appropriately placed to accommodate those seeking a Vietnamese inspired meal . . . and one filled with an abundance in relation to portions with an emphasis on great quality and taste. One look at the Yelp page and you will be overwhelmed with many options in the types of offerings and all rooted in the traditional menu options that you would find in most all Vietnamese dining destinations. On this occasion, I was joined by a friend who is a relative expert in this type of cuisine. We each ordered the Beef Rib Pho and shared a plate of Spring Rolls and House Special Wings. I'll start with the Pho. This entrée was served in a hot clay pot and was filled with the traditional ingredients and large rib bones as the pictures show. A side plate of bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil and limes were included and were all very fresh with only the best selections making it on the platter. The Pho itself was presented with a very clean broth that had the traditional flavors. The broth was very good and really came together with the additions of the plate of vegetables and a few drops o Sriracha and Oyster sauce. The time for the beef ribs to join in the broth party made a huge impact on enriching the flavor of the broth. This is an excellent meal with very good flavor. The lunch was started with the Spring Rolls that were filled in traditional form and we chose the pork option. The portions were very substantial and the dipping sauce was very good with a rich body and flavor to accentuate those rolls. Excellent as well. The third item on the table included the House Special Wings. This, too, was very well prepared and plentiful. Of the dishes we tried, this was not for me. It was on the sweet side of things and while crispy and well prepared, my preference would be one of the other options. Our server suggested the garlic butter wings which I will order on my next visit. Overall, Pholuscious was a great find for me and an excellent location for those looking for a high quality Vietnamese dining destination. Our server, Krystal, was very good and was accommodating with questions and any other assistance we needed. One thing that I encourage you to do is to please read the description of the items you order thoroughly. The title of each item and the pictures cannot be your guide. You will learn of the ingredients or be prompted to ask follow-up questions by reading the descriptions. Your server will fill in the details to your questions to ensure you order the right item. I'll be honest...I walked in with pretty low expectations since they're open until midnight. Usually that can be hit or miss. The space itself looked newer, bigger, and super clean... but let's be real, that's not what makes or breaks a good bowl of pho. When we ordered, the pho took a little longer than expected to come out, and I was really hoping the wait would be worth it. And wow- first sip, I was immediately impressed. The broth was rich and deeply flavorful, the meat was perfectly tender, and they absolutely did not miss on the herbs. A lot of places only offer Thai basil, but they also had culantro and rice paddy herb, which made such a difference. Bonus points: the pho came out piping hot, exactly how it should be.
