Really tasty pho! Came to this restaurant after a morning walk and needed a healthy brunch. Since it was the morning there were outside tables available which was really nice. We got our food quickly and were left alone to eat which was really nice! Very thankful for this meal! Rare Steak Pho (Small Bowl)
I loved that they had outdoor seating for my dogs. This place is super cute and my servers were extremely friendly. Thats why they get 4 stars. My server was excellent. I ordered egg noodle and my husband got the pho. I also got a Chinese donut and a pork burger. My noodles were super soft and not edible. I was disappointed, but my server was so kind she offered to replace my entire meal and not even charge me. I refused and just asked for new noodles al dente. I never want any business losing money. I showed my server my pasty egg noodles and she was just very apologetic. The soup broth is also extremely bland but I could not get over how kind my server was. My husbands pho had the same problem. Very soggy noodles and very bland. However the pork burger was really good. It was nice and flaky and had a great texture. The Chinese donut was over cooked. It was so hard. Maybe today was an off day but still, overall I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. The owner of this place also owns na tart next door, which has awesome egg tarts. I really loved it!
Best pho in San Diego. The broth is perfectly balanced with not too much star anise or fat in it. My son has autism and it's one of the 5 foods he eats. Anyone with kids and the spectrum knows what I mean.
The place is clean and like how the server is very attentive. Also it has variety selections on the menu and you can make your own pho!
The remodel in 2024 is more clean and modern, but offers less tables. However, the outdoor area is nice for additional seating. The food is still good and the staff are fine. They are now making more esthetic creations that are fun! See pic of the rice animal, so cute!
It looks like this place got a somewhat makeover with their menu from the last time I went. They now have unlimited Thai tea snow with their new snow making machine. For now it is just Thai tea along with some toppings u can add. But the "unlimited" is a sweet deal especially since it's been so hot recently. The price is only $6 and they give u a bowl to serve yourself. Since they only have one machine, be patient cause it takes time to make. But when we went , we were the only ones getting it, so we had the machine all to ourselves. They do have some specials when u order that does include the unlimited Thai tea snow so make sure to ask the staff. They also had a special for two people to dine which I think is a great deal. For $31, u get to choose one appetizer, two entrees, and two drinks. We went with the shrimp spring rolls for our appetizer and for the entrees we went with the rice combo and the bun (vermicelli) combo which came with grilled pork, chicken, shrimp, fried egg rolls (noodle bowl only), and onion wrapped beef. Also came with veggies on the side and fish sauce. It's plenty of food for the both of us. They also have Happy Hour on some drinks and appetizers. And after dinner, stop by next door (Na Tart) for their home made egg tarts. Just found out they're both owned by the same owner.

Once the food came out we were able to enjoy some delicious fresh and flavorful dishes like the Shaken Beef plate and spring rolls. Felt light and healthy too. This is a longtime Vietnamese eatery adjacent to the ground level entrance of a multi-story professional building in the Clairemont neighborhood. During the pandemic, they erected some outside seating in a parklet that resembled a cabana or hut to match the business name. It's one of the nicer covered setups I have seen and could seat over a dozen customers. The inside of the suite had several tables with about twice the capacity of the hut. There were no physical menus available as you had to scan a QR code to bring up the offerings. None of the categories were unusual for Vietnamese fare. I did notice a couple of lunch specials, one for a single diner and the other for two people. My choice was the Seafood Pho which came as a large bowl of rice noodles containing shrimp, calamari, fish balls, and imitation crab. I thought the broth was light but not as savory as other similar places. There were about four pieces of each seafood type. For a large serving, more noodles should have been included. Parking was a little more congested as the nearby lot is now more filled because of a new grocery store on the corner compared to the previous chain pharmacy. I gave a three star rating for my dinner at Pho Hut & Grill.
Was in the area and saw the ad on their window for the Thousand Layer Burger and decided to try it. Cute place located in the corner of a small strip mall. Thankfully, there are designated parking spots right in front of the place so it made it easy for carry-out. There's a good amount of indoor seating and a small patio to sit outside. Although there wasn't a lot of diners at lunch time on a weekday (Wednesday), it took awhile to get my order. The Thousand Layer burger (which was made with a shredded pork with jalapeños) didn't look like the picture advertised, which was not too surprising. The best part of it was the "layers", which is reminiscent of puffed pastry dough. My brother tried their bahn mi - Combo Sandwich and he said it was ok. Not sure if we'll be back, but it was good to try it.

This time around, everything went smoothly. I ordered my usual combination pho with no tripe, and it came out exactly as requested. The portions were generous, the food was good, and the chili oil was much better and had a good mix of chili and oil. Overall, I'm glad I gave them another shot.
I'm sad, this is our local Pho place and I have never left a review, time to fix that! We moved from Seattle to SD so finding a good and consistent pho place was high on our list. We tried a few places locally and this is our consistent go to place for pho. Pro tip, if ordering for pick up use their website, they often have bomb specials that are not offered on the typical delivery service apps. I know it's tough as the delivery service apps save your orders for easy meal selection but trust me, their website has incredible deals that are worth the effort. This location is super clean, phenomenal tasting food, friendly staff, and plenty of parking. Portions are large, tai tea is smack your lips together good! Give this place your business and you won't be sorry.

I came to try the viral Thousand-layer Burger, and I gotta say, it was worth it. It reminded me of a cross between a cumin-spiced Chinese pork burger and Vietnamese pâté chaud--savory, meaty, flaky, and still surprisingly crispy after takeout. Pro tip: throw it in the air fryer and dip it in hoisin sauce. It's even more delicious. I also ordered the grilled pork bún, which was solid and generously portioned. However, it didn't have crushed peanuts, and I found the shredded cabbage and creamy sauce on top of the fish sauce a little too unconventional. Overall, maybe not the most traditional Vietnamese food, but everything was tasty. I'd come back to this location to explore more of the menu. read more

A great lunch deal - $30.99 for 2 people for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 drinks. We opted for the shrimp spring rolls, combo pho, combo rice plate and 2 thai teas. The spring rolls were fresh, the pho had a good amount of meat and was tasty. The combo rice plate had a good variety of meats as well, good lemongrass flavor on some meat pieces. My first time here but my friend raved about it. We both ordered the Korean bbq ribs and they were so delicious! We also got milk teas which is my fav. And egg roll appetizers which came at the end of the meal so we couldn't really enjoy them since we were too full. Service was good. A simple, and well priced Vietnamese spot. While not the most interestingly decorated, or the best food, you really do get your money's worth here. I really appreciate the care put into plating here, with a cute animal design in the rice and the elegant curry bowl. My main complaint here was that I felt the curry was a bit watery and not as flavorful as I'd like, but I really enjoyed the $6 Thousand Layer Burger which I thought was both incredibly yummy and fairly priced for what you get. I think my experience was hindered by a poor choice in main entree with the curry, and I would have been better suited simply ordering one of their signatures, so I will be giving this establishment another go to ensure I can provide a fair rating. read more

Maya and the staff working with her are always so friendly and welcoming. Every time you walk in, you're greeted with big smiles, and the food is always amazing. I especially love their lunch special for one--it's one of my favorites. I come in at least once a week because the staff, the environment, and the food are all excellent. On my last visit, Maya also went above and beyond by helping me with my autistic son when he was having a hard moment. She was so kind and patient, and she really helped calm him down. I was incredibly grateful for her help--it meant a lot and allowed me to actually sit down and enjoy my meal too. Little acts of kindness like that truly make a difference. read more

Mom ordered the small rare pho and I ordered the large. Perfect portion and meet to noodle ratio. Broth was very flavorful. Added some beef on the side to add to our shrimp spring roll, so good! Great service, cute ambiance and nice staff. Highly recommend! :) read more
