We came for the breakfast of champions....PHO! My mom's friend loves this spot and this is their go to spot. Easy to find parking spots, clean inside and once inside we were greeted immediately. I ordered the number 15. It is rice noodle beef soup with eye Round steak, well done flank and brisket. This was definitely an unique experience eating pho for me. First off, I didn't know they could steam the veggies they give you for your pho. I am just used to being handed bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, jalapeño pepper slices and lime slices cold. They steamed ours and it was cool to try something different. I have been eating pho for over twenty years so this was awesome to try! The items were soft so when you put it in your pho you don't have to wait for it to get that way. Great idea. Service was good. We needed hot sauce and they gave it to us in tiny containers. The hot sauce was spicier than the sriracha on the table, but it wasn't that spicy. Overall we had a good time enjoy our food and laughing about the weekend we spent in town. Come try this spot out. I ordered the steamed rice plate which comes with grilled beef and egg roll. Also tried the shrimp pho soup with a side of tofu spring roll. The pho broth has too much sodium. I can almost sense a stroke slurping on it, but I had to get my pho fix. The beef being overly salty and and the rice being dry didn't help my appetite much. So it's really no frills service, basic guy/lady these people are not waiters they will not come back to check on you or refill your drink they are just order takers. Honestly they probably save money on labor if they just had counter service. read more

The food was okay, but the way they do business is so unprofessional. The store is supposed to open at 9 o'clock, I arrived at 9:05 and the store still wasn't open. The employees didn't come until 9:10. I waited till 9:15, I got in and they were still mopping the floor and all the chairs were still on the tables. There was another customer came after me, he came in and had to put the chair down by himself to sit. This is so unprofessional. I will never come back again. I'm always leery of restaurants that claim to serve authentic Vietnamese food (many are, in fact, NOT). I always greet the owner/workers in Vietnamese and I order in Vietnamese too. You'll be surprised how often I'm met with confused looks. I was pleasantly surprised to find the owner giving me her direct attention and taking my order. She made a few suggestions but wasn't pushy. All the staff was attentive. I ordered the com tht nng, essential rice with grilled pork and shrimp. The meat had a good char on it and plenty of flavor. The pork was a good cut (lean and not too fatty). The rice was perfect, some places make it too wet and smushy, for god's sake it's not sushi rice!! The nuoc mam was perfect, not watered down or too sweet. I'm from South Vietnam and we tend to like our nuoc mam garlicky and spicy but not overly sweet. Veggies were fresh and portions were extremely generous (despite being ravenous, I almost couldn't finish it... ALMOST). All in all, a great lunch experience. So I live in Pearland and once in awhile I crave this place because I love it so much. One day I came at about 8:30. I tried ordering the tofu spring rolls since they make them so big here. The waiter told us that they don't make these anymore and for the inconvenience he gave us some type of orange chai tea or whatever it was called. Their meatballs are better but their broth isn't as flavorful, they use white onions, and there was barely any cilantro. Pho Huy does not have these problems. read more

We were seated at a community table while the waiter cleaned a dirty table for us (party of 6). I got spring rolls and a large bowl of pho ($7ish) with brisket and flank. The broth was very good and flavorful. It's one of the best pho broths I've ever had. The spring rolls tasted the same as any other ones at a Viet place so no complaints there. There was a good meat ratio too. My only complaint was the noodles were all cut up short for some reason which I don't like. My parents didn't even cut up my noodles when I was a kid, and I don't want it now either. Next time I come I'm going to get a rice dish bc those were big and big portions for a good price always appeals to me. But then again I say that at every pho place and end up getting pho. read more

I'm surprised I've never tried this place. I guess I was skeptical because it's in the middle of gessner and I frequent Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown. We were seated and brought drinks quickly, I only tried their Com Tom Thit Nuong plate and two iced coffees. Prices weren't listed on the menu but I think the plate was about $7.50 (pretty cheap bc usually adding shrimp to a dish raises the price significantly.) Whoaaa. It came out in less than 5 mins, I'm not complaining because it came out hot and it was a large portion. It also came with a side of broth (dine-in only.) Both the shrimp and grilled pork were super flavorful! The shrimp wasn't over cooked and the pork was very tender. Also, they have one of the best iced coffees I've ever had! Perfectly mixed. this is by far the worst pho iv ever had. hubby and i ordered their pho dac biet and spring rolls. The spring rolls was packed in noodles, which i didnt like cause in the end i felt like i was just eating a noodle wrap which was flavorless. the pho dac biet had a off taste to it. especially the meat. I kept tasting the chinese "oil" that your grandparents will use when they are in pain. which was not pleasant. and unfortunately right when i finished my food, i found a piece of hair in my bowl. I have been here a few times and really like their pho. I have tried their chicken and beef Bánh mì sandwiches and the flavor is good too, but sometimes the beef is tough. This week I had their chicken and shrimp fried rice take-out...and was very disappointed to see that they do not clean/devein their shrimp. The fried rice was not cheap! (about $16 including tax). I've been enjoying Pho Huy for several years now and I can say without hesitation that this is Vietnamese at its finest. One of the best Vietnamese noodle houses in Spring Branch if not the whole Houston area. I've tried other Pho restaurants, but most don't come close to Pho Huy. I recommend any of the beef noodle soups, or if you are in the mood for chicken the char broiled chicken (my personal favorite) won't disappoint. It is served with rice, an egg roll, and a small cup of delicious broth. They have shrimp and pork plates, but I tend to stay within their beef and chicken choices. You can't go wrong with either. The only negative aspect here depends on the time you come in. A lot of their business arrives during the midday lunch hour. So if you drop by from 12 to 2, you'll encounter a crowded restaurant of people on their lunch break, however if you're waiting for a seat it won't tax too much of your time. After 3 it gets more laid back. After trying Pho Huy it will be your go to Pho noodle house. read more

Nice little clean pho restaurant close to my work with average service and good Vietnamese food. The spring rolls and pho ga came out quick. Tasted fairly authentic and served their purpose of filing me up. The menu looked to have covered all your typical dishes you'd find in any other good pho restaurant so you should be able to order your favorite dishes here as well.
