Summer rolls with only shrimp; beef pho and Egg Rolls

...my go-to pho place. Super chill vibes and cozy setting on Upper Greenville area. Been visiting since 2013 and still one of my favorite places. Great service and delicious food, from bánh mis to your traditional beef pho with very rich broth.

Beef Pho: A generous portion of noodles, tender filet, brisket, and meatballs!

Construction in the lot made parking a little confusing. It didn't help that the plaza was pretty busy on this Sunday at around noon. The restaurant was also pretty busy, with most tables being occupied, but it felt very clean and modern inside. You order and pay up front at the counter, and then they give you a number and bring your food when it's ready. The beef pho only came in one size and was $14.50 when I went. It's just a tad more expensive than my go-to spot in Houston that has a larger selection of meat and bigger bowls, but with tender filet meat here, I'll take what I can get. Also, chili oil isn't on the menu or on the tables, but it costs $0.50 if you want it. My bf and I both got the BEEF PHO. He got his with only rare filet though. The slices were inconsistent: some thick, some thin. The thicker slices were better, and somehow my bf only got thin slices :( regardless of filet thickness, they were very tender and good! The meatballs were also good, but tasted very...beefy? Idk how to describe it. They were different from what I'm used to, but not bad at all. However, there were a few whole peppercorns in the meatballs that I had to spit out... All in all, it was a good enough bowl of pho. It's a smaller bowl than I'm used to, but it's a good portion with lots of meat and noodles that left me feeling very full. The side of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime was pretty small compared to other places I've been, but you could probably ask for more if you want. I asked for more limes with no problem.

I don't know who's momma is in the back slinging that broth but they better be treating her like a queen!! Hubby and I went for lunch in between appointments and it did not disappoint. We were welcomed at the door, the person that took our order made sure Hubby knew the dish he ordered was spicy and offered to put the chili oil on the side (perfect recommendation by the way). We had summer rolls, I had beef pho, Hubby had Bo hue and we both had Thai teas. Summer rolls: 5/5 They had pork & shrimp with vermicelli basil & mint and a delicious peanut sauce. Thai tea: 4/5 Not too sweet, not too savory (I'd like it a smidgen sweeter, that's just me) Beef pho: 5/5 The meatballs were so flavorful and yummy. The brisket was tender and tasty. Once again that broth!!! Heavenly! Bun Bo Hue: 5/5 I'm pretty sure I'm not doing the name justice and I'll rectify that I promise. Hubby loved it. The peppercorn in the sausage the thick noodles... that broth!! We will definitely be back.

Called in an order to go and was helped quickly on the phone and food was ready within 15 minutes. I liked the way they packaged the food to go. It was easy to eat from the containers and not messy. The spring rolls were very fresh. I got beef broth to go and it was flavorful and delicious! Will be back

    Chicken Pho

Hands down the best Pho spot I have ever been to in Dallas. I come here 1-2x weekly... and no I'm not kidding! The quality of the Pho broth is SO good and it's consistent every.single.time. Also, the service is consistent every single time. At this point I know the staff by name and they know my order as soon as I walk through the door They will give you extra limes at a 0.50 cent extra charge and I don't mind paying it because this Pho is 100% worth it. I bounce between the Beef and Chicken Pho to change it up and if you haven't tried their grilled Pork vermicelli dish, (omg) you are missing out! It is absolutely delicious whenever you're not in the "hot soup" mood. Overall I love this spot and I hope the ownership never changes because they do such an excellent job at running this place. And just a heads up! They are closed on Mondays! (It's a sad day of the week for me) lol.

Usually I come here just for the pho, which in general isn't authentic but good, but today I wasn't too hungry and got their banh mi for smth on the lighter end. It was prob one of the most underwhelming banh mi I've had in a while and for $9? The flavor was def there, but there was like almost no veggies (one slice of cucumber and one piece of cilantro) or meat. The cashier and the seating area is super nice- but the actual food was mostly only bread. I'd recommend either going to garland and getting a real banh mi (which will have lots of veggies) for $5, for this business to add an ample amount of veggies to their sandwiches, or just to order only pho at this store.

Regular size Beef Pho with only rare filet and less noodles

If you're in the mood for a quick and cozy meal, this spot is worth a visit. I ordered the beef pho with just rare filet to keep things lean (no brisket or meatballs) and requested fewer noodles. It wasn't the best pho I've had in DFW, but it's a decent option when you're craving soup and don't feel like making the drive to a top-tier spot. The broth was warm and comforting, though it had a bit more fat than I'd prefer. The highlight was the service--super fast and efficient. My soup was out in two minutes, which is perfect for a cold day when you want something hot in a hurry. Not my go-to for pho, but it gets the job done!

Boiled chicken breast in the vermicelli salad.

Meh. My first time here because I didn't want drive 10+ miles to the better Vietnamese restaurants in lunch traffic and think this is the only one in my neighborhood. I ordered the chicken vermicelli salad. The chicken breast was boiled and not grilled and not flavored - think boiled meat with no salt that they prob also use for the chicken pho. The sauce was okay but wasn't enough in my takeout. It was about 1.5tblsp so the salad was slightly bland. The egg roll that came with the dish was also okay, leaves a lot to be desired. I think tomorrow I'll drive the 15 miles out to other neighborhoods with more competition and get me some real Vietnamese food that isn't watered down. Just not worth it, but the 3 stars because although it wasn't for me, seems like a lot of non-Asians really like this place.

I had two seasonal signatures that were perfect summer refreshers. My first was a pineapple rum cocktail called Lewis Street Daiquiri. The second was a very creative spin on a Negroni made with tequila instead of gin. Lewis Street Daiquiri uses a pineapple rum combined with Yuzu Kosho cordial. A yuzu kosho cordial is a sweet, syrup flavored with yuzu citrus and a spicy Japanese chili paste. It's a creative way bartenders add sweetness, acidity, and a spicy kick to recipes. It definitely had all of that along with a bit of a sour feel to it with some light froth from some vigorous shaking. It's really tasty. The second cocktail is JuJu's Negroni. I've never seen a tequila Negroni variation. They use a Blanco tequila, JuJu's coffee, Pamplemousse (grapefruit), and coconut. JuJu is a local East Dallas coffee shop around the corner from MHB. I love the local touch to use a neighbor's ingredient. I cant remember why is has a red tint given the ingredients, but it must be the combination of the coffee and grapefruit liqueur. I think i remember them saying they clarified some combination of the ingredients, but i cant remember. Regardless, it was delicious ams you should definitely try it. You don't need an excuse to go to MHB because it's one of the best restaurants in Dallas and is Michelin recommended. I would go@back for both of these cocktails like we do for the world famous garlic noodles. Go try these beauties and visit our hood because it's one of the best joints we have to offer in Dallas. The restaurant has vibrant decor and murals that transport you to a diverse neighborhood. Every employee who helped us was approachable and kind, checking on us after we were seated and served, going as far as taking photos for us when we asked because we were celebrating our anniversary, and bringing out things we asked for once we were seated. It seems basic to say that, but the warmth and kindness was felt from each employee we interacted with, and I don't want to gloss over their good service. Our order: - Angry Pho Birria Platter - Elote + Chips - Strawberry Lemonade - Ube Horchata The pho (a little spicy) and bao (a little sweet with super tender meat) will make you want to do a happy dance. The wings could have been a little crunchier but they were sauced so it's understandable. The Bang Bang and Spicy Chili flavors were delicious. The Birria tacos were good, but we loved everything else on the platter more. The Elote + chips starter was authentic and yummy. The chips felt like an odd pairing, but it tasted good together! The Strawberry Lemonade was sweet but refreshing. The Ube Horchata was creamy and delicious. Not too sweet, and the ice didn't ruin it. Know before you go: - Arrive early! We got there when they opened at 11 AM on a Friday. Two other parties were already there and waiting to dine, as well. By 11:30 AM, a nice-sized crowd had rolled in. They had no problem getting everyone served quickly, though. - You order and pay first, grab a seat, and then they bring your food out to you. - Yes, the platter sizes are sufficient for two hungry adults to fill up on! You might even have trouble finishing it all. - Their online menu has awesome pictures of each platter option. The platters look smaller in person than in those photos, but as I said, you will definitely get full. - My husband, who is not a pho lover, loved the Angry Pho. - They are closed on Saturdays and Mondays. - They have gluten-free and halal options.

You can tell they brew it and it doesn't come from a syrup. When I sat down, I was instantly greeted, and there were like four different people serving my table, I think that they all work as a team to make sure everything is covered. The service was just amazing. Restaurant is beautiful, the booths were , small and intimate and you feeling that you in place with privacy and yet part of the group ....kind of interesting how they've done that. But the food! The food was outstanding, first they gave me a complementary appetizer of Jasmine sticky rice with this eggplant chutney, that was very tasty, a teeny bit spicy, but really good depth with flavor. Then my beef Samosas arrived. There were four, wrapped in like a triangle rapper, smaller than the Indian version of the same, and the flavor was very tasty, and corn and small chopped potatoes, yum! The two chutneys that came with it one was a cool cucumber, and the other was this sweet and spicy plum sauce. They made samosas!!! They could be soft and cool, or they could be delicious and spicy, depending on chutney you had them with and you had a third option.... There was a bed of pickled radish and carrot that really sit off the samosas as well and we're just delicious on their own. I devoured the entire thing. Then get the entrée. I had drunken noodles and I added the shredded pork... It was devastatingly tasty!!! the noodles were obviously done it a wok that's been seasoned to perfection. The wide noodles picked up all that deliciousness from the wok and then combined with the pork... heaven ! They had large pieces of bell pepper and tomatoes. very fresh onions... Just deliciousness.
