This is my first time here and thought I tried it out. Somewhat close by my job. Very modern looking like a hotel when you see Pho John St from outside. Big and very high windows. Once inside, you can feel a lot of space around you. They have very high ceilings! They are really high with lots of wooden planks to make it look industrial like a bar. They have small tables for one or two people. It's very long. I had to go back to work so I did take out and got a flank and brisket pho. They give a lot of noodles in this place. I almost couldn't finish. Also a lot of meat in the bowl. They also gave a lot of soup that was spilling so I had to drink some of the soup before pouring the rest into the noodles. The space is narrow but has a nice size room towards the back. Would be good for group since it's semi secluded towards the back. The service is a bit slow as I only ever see one or two servers for the entire place. But it's clean and airy with tall ceilings. Prices are very reasonable for the location in fidi and also considering the giant portion size! So yummy! I love pho and this is a decent spot! The pho here hit the spot, especially on a drizzly summer day. The prices were very reasonable given its fidi location. We got the flank and brisket pho with the flank slices on the side to get to the perfect temperature and the combo banh mi to share. The portions were very filling where we saved the 2nd half of the sandwich for layer. The only underwhelming dish was the summer roll where the shrimps were pretty small and the fillings were not too exciting. The restaurant was spacious, with skylights and plants, and very clean. I have come to this establishment twice for an hour lunch. They served my food promptly even with a large crowd. There are not many pho restaurants to choose from in the area and this one has pretty large portions. Overall, it's very clean inside. Though the bathroom could use some sprucing up. The pho is very delicious and hearty. I like to stop by when I need something to cure my sinuses or give me a little more energy. I wish they had an option for a smaller portion of soup because I can never finish it all. A smaller portion for a lunch price would be a great addition to the menu. read more

I also got the Thai ice tea (not pictured) and it was so sweet, even sipping from the top near the ice didn't help. The fried spring rolls were really good! Finally a place in NYC that uses wonton wrappers instead of rice wrappers. They are filled with meat and fried to the right amount. The pho is $16 which is a really good deal considering the portion was really big. I couldn't finish both the pho and the spring rolls on my own when I could at other places. They give a lot more noodles than meat. The broth isn't super aromatic, but it's there! The restaurant has a lot of seatings. Menu is exactly the same but service here was much slower which was really surprising. $20 with tax and tip inclusive for any bowl of pho.. good if your craving pho. Went on a Saturday evening. Zero customers. Hmm, but we took a risk anyways. The pho noodles came mostly stuck together. First time I encountered this in a pho restaurant. I thought I was the only one who cannot cook rice noodles right. The bean sprouts looked very sad; they were lonely (only a few of them) and rather brown. The one little sprig of thai basil was all withered. The duck "tacos" (spring roll) was all black. It's not just burnt, but the filling tasted like they were recycled from leftovers. They also don't have Vietnames coffee. Not even Thai coffee. A vietnamese restaurant? Huh?? As if that was not bad enough, the waitress didn't know how to operate their cashier's computer and double charged me. I insisted and saw the Apple Pay machine go "processing... approved" but she demanded that I pay again. Now, I have to walk 30 min to go to ask for a refund of the second (double) payment. Because they don't know how to handle credit card refunds, and my bank has informed me that I was charged twice, all within 3 min. Not planning on going back, except to get my refund. (Will update if they refund me. Otherwise, anyone has any advice?) read more

Nice to have this very spacious dining room in this area. It's so good to sit and enjoy a meal . Lots of the places in this area ha e a couple seats if you're lucky and are usually crowded. The restaurant is esthetically pleasingand clean. A huge light lit window is above the rear dining area. The pho is good and flavorful- we had the flank and Brisket. Huge bowl with lots of noodles, $16 . Very fair price for the amount of pho. My hubby also had the grilled pork Bahn Mi, the meat was tender and well seasoned and the packed with fresh tasting pickled veggies. The hostess/server was the only one on the floor. It was not busy at the moment we went but it did start filling up while we were there. I guess we had missed the lunch crowd. She was friendly and handled all the tables herself. There was not a long wait for the food to come out. She was on top of her game with refilling water, checking on us , very attentive. Overall a beautiful and delicious experience. Will be back soon. While I give the pho a rating of 3.9 out of 5, I give the restaurant an overall rating of 1. I used to dine here pretty often because the broth in the pho was pretty good. Not the best, but good enough for what's in the area. Every time I ordered the beef pho, I would ask to have the beef on the side as I prefer to place the beef in my bowl one slice at a time. The very last time I dined here, they decided to tack on an extra charge. On the receipt, it said "extra meat". When I told the waitress I didn't get extra meat, she says that's how they would ring up the bill since I asked to have the meat on the side. She deemed that as being correct and didn't remove the charge for me. So I paid and left $0 tip. That's what you get for ripping off a frequent customer. Will I miss their food? Not really. There's a really great ramen joint up the block. And I have great pho places around my nabe anyway. read more
