I've always drove past this plaza and always wanted to try this place. Today I tried it and it was pleasant. I got a #6 pho with rare steak, tripe and another beef meat. I ordered Pho Lucky off of Doordash and it was so bad. The spring rolls were ordered were all broken and busted and they did not give us peanut sauce as seen in the photo. In addition, we ordered their fried calamari and it was a lot of batter and overcooked. I've never eaten a bready rubber squid in my life. It was so disgusting! No flavor either! Lastly we got a grilled pork banh mi. It was the best out of the things we ordered but it was still not good. First they use a wheat roll and not the traditional french roll in a banh mi (the crunch was so flakey and getting everywhere). Next the pork was like 25% all fat. pho lucky is a fave of ours. we always get the pho so haven't tried too much from the menu. the pho is amazing and always comes out piping hot and super fast. i personally don't like the meat they put in pho so i always give mine to andy. the broth is really flavorful and i usually add lime and chili oil to mine. i took the pic before adding anything. the noodles are perfect every time and they load your bowl with noodles. i always get the small and it's usually too much for me to finish but andy gets the large. we usually get the fried rice and it's good, but definitely not the best fried rice i've had. we add the thick brown sauce that's in the squeeze bottle in the table and it makes it perfect. this was our first time getting the egg rolls and omg. seriously one of the best i've ever had. they were really big and loaded with meat on the inside amongst other things. we debated ordering more of them even though we were so full just because they're so good. we got a banana and a taro shake. i always get the taro and it is just so good. it's really sweet and has an almost whip cream flavor to it. i can't explain it, but it's perfect. the banana was good, but not out favorite. andy wanted to try something new. it was a little more icey texture and flavor wise compared to the taro. sweet, but not as sweet. it was a little bit more of a refreshing flavor than a "i want a milkshake" flavor. either way still good, but just prefer taro. service is always super good and pricing isn't too bad. pretty comparable to most other asian spots, maybe a bit cheaper. they have a huge menu and we definitely need to try more items next time we go. read more

Reasonably priced.. and will customize a dish if you have specific dietary needs. I asked if they could make charbroiled beef wrapped onions, a dish I had at another Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area.. and the Lotus salad was fresh and delicious.. with a little spice.. I was craving some soup yesterday, and in a quick Yelp search, this place popped up. I saw that they had Mi Quang on the menu, which is one of my favorites (and a lot of Vietnamese places don't have this on the menu because it's a regional dish). I decided to give it a try, and have pretty high expectations. Also, I hadn't had my coffee yet for the day, so I added an iced Vietnamese coffee to the order. In lightning speed, my order was ready. They packaged it up perfectly, since I was taking it to-go. They even asked if I needed utensils, which was a good reminder since I had forgotten that the place I was taking it to eat wouldn't have utensils. I can honestly say, this was THE BEST I had EVER had. I was talking with a friend when eating my lunch, and had to keep stopping the conversation to let them know how delicious the soup was. I just couldn't believe how tender the pork was. The meat just fell off the bone and into the soup when I grabbed it. It had clearly been seasoned and cooked at the perfect temperature (for hours). I didn't need to season it at all (other than the traditional toppings). The broth was soooo flavorful. Shrimp were cleaned (I notice these small things), veggies were impeccably fresh. The lime was juicy, jalapeños were the perfect compliment. I just can't say more about this soup. I'm going to recommend it to everyone I talk to, since it stomps my old place out of the water! And, if I couldn't even be happier--that iced coffee! OMG. Like how was I living before trying this place?!?!?! It was literally the best I've ever had. One of my favorite spots! When auntie is there, I order the avocado boba and pair it with a grilled pork bahn mi. You can never go wrong with that combo. Although I would enjoy a little bit more crunch to the bread and a tad bit more meat inside, it's the homemade mayo sauce combined with the rest that elevates the sandwich. Understandably, portion have changed due to inflation because of the pandemic, however, their lack of care and skill in their food has dramatically disappeared. Overly stuffed and wrapped and broke. The pork in the roll was so thick cut it made the entire flavor of the spring roll off balance, and the quality and flavor of the pork itself was questionable. Nestled between I-5 and Hwy 99 on Hammer Ln It's in a kind of rundown shopping center next to a massage parlor, liquor store, and a cigarette shop. The restaurant is fairly clean. The waitresses and waiters are not very engaging which is fine. I'm there to eat Pho correct? The food comes out fairly quick. They have all the usual stuff on the table the Sriracha sauce, chili oil, that dark brown sweet Hoisin sauce? This place isn't the smiley kind of service restaurant, however the food and flavors most certainly make up for that. We also get the bun xie eo. I probably spelled that wrong, but it's this crunchy crepe like dish with tons of veggies. The shrimp salad is also delicious and they are generous with the shrimp. If you ever wondered where a little viet town could be, or if you're someone like me who isn't interested in pho but in a taste of home (or roots), this place is it. Due to my taste preferences, I routinely filter out reviews by people who only order pho and by doing that, this place appeared. This search algorithm usually leads me to a Vietnamese restaurant with that authentic small business charm, and this trip did not disappoint. It is not uncommon to find an employee refusing to give that cheerful smile that many Americans expect of the service industry. Don't let that come to bear in the actual service that's provided. It's not you, it's not any day in particular. It's how some people convey uncompromising honesty in their professional demeanor with customers. It's an old school, Vietnamese equivalent of someone who prefers keeping it real. Bo Kho banh mi (beef and carrot stew with small French baguette), as home comfort food it was on the mark. bun thit noung (dry vermicelli dish with grilled pork) wasn't 100% like the Bay Area's but this will happen due to the economics of having to be a bit pan-Asian to survive. There's always a positive to it, like for instance this place gave me more meat and more carrots than other places. Che Ba Mau (3 color drink) wasn't in the 3 colors I was used to, but not like that ever matters. What matters is they opting not to use grass jelly for something green. If they bother taking the time to use something softer than that (pandan if for a green) the overall soft texture in coconut milk experience that's indicative of a 3 color drink will likely still be right, and it was. Delicious. I'll be definitely coming back to try other hallmark Vietnamese dishes and the pan-Asian stuff as well. Even if Grubhub acts as a gateway to finding that place for university students, I'll be switching to Menuly for future ordering as suggested on one of their signs. read more

But all the small, sharp bones made it a terrifying challenge to eat. I have had much better tasting duck curry without the adventure. While we sat there, attempting to eat, we watched another couple wait 30 min for their take out, with no apology. The waiter practically tossed the food at them as if they were a bother to him. The customer glared at the waiter, but he didn't seem to care. However, if looks could kill, I think there would have been another homicide in Stockton. I don't think they will be coming back. My advice is to avoid this place. There are much better Pho options in Stockton, and the rest of San Joaquin County.
