Was pleasantly surprised with Ramen 101. I remembered Elk Grove Ramen 101 quite well and the experience I had there wasn't great and unfortunately, it closed. Now, I hesitated for a bit to try this one in Stockton but hubby was like let's try it. So, as we parked, plenty of parking by the way, we stepped into the building, not as big, there were customers dinning in, but the atmosphere was chilly! Lol Our front guy greeted us and handed us the menu. It's a pay first ordering system, just like how they had it in Elk Grove and other restaurants like Sit Lo Saigon and Koshi Ramen, to name a few. We opt for outside dinning cause I was freezing inside. The wait for our food wasn't too long but I noticed our ramen came out first and then apps maybe 10 mins after. No biggie! I enjoyed the tonkostu ramen a lot. Very flavorful. The chashu was over cooked though and egg wasn't as jammy...i ordered medium spicy. They have condiments and utensils outside ready on table. Personally I wouldn't use the condiments outside. Just don't know how long they've been sitting there or what could have flew or crawled in lol the Takoyaki was hot and steamy. Not the best I've had but it works. The chicken karaage was a bit dry...comes with a spicy mayo sauce. Hubby enjoyed his Black Garlic , spicy, no complaints. Of course since we dinned outisde we didn't get any check ups which is fine. Not sure if it made any difference if we were to dine inside. Overall, we enjoyed their ramens and apps, love the dinning outside options, and pretty affordable price for the portions we received. Pretty good ramen. I got it to to-go on a really sick afternoon and it really calmed my throat. I loved the way it was packaged. I loved the flavors and textures of all the ingredients in the ramen. It was ready pretty quickly after I ordered it. Good ramen spot in Stockton, California. Also in a location with lots of parking and even thought I did not eat inside the restaurant, it looks like some pretty nice seating. read more

Went in for a quick dinner. Ordered and paid for our food and got a table. Establishment was clean and out food came out quick. We ordered the same thing. Seafood Ramen. My husband and I enjoy coming here when we want something warm and fulfilling. Ramen 101 is extremely fast with their services and the food is always delicious. The servings are a pretty good size too! I usually order the kids ramen, miso base, and medium level. My husband loves the seafood ramen, chicken base, medium spice. We have also tried the Chicken Katsu, and Chicken & Beef. Definitely recommend! read more

Grandma had a hankering for noodle soup so I took us to try Ramen 101. It's clean, quick and the food was good. My grandma got the miso ramen and I got the Tonkotsu Ramen which totaled to about $35. The soup was not as hot as we hoped, but the flavor and toppings were yummy. Just wished it were a hotter bowl of soup. read more

I love eating at authentic ramen restaurants. So I was very happy that I was able to try this one. I came with my sisters and mom who are also ramen LOVERS. We ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura which come with soy sauce. The shrimp one was very crunchy, warm, and very tasty. The vegetable one was filled with sweet potato, zucchini, broccoli, and onion. Sadly, they were soft and soggy. I would have preferred them to be more crunchy. We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. You can choose the level of spiciness. We got spicy. The soup felt way too overpowered by the spiciness. The tonkotsu flavor that I was expecting felt lost with all the spicy flavor. We also ordered the chicken katsu which came with a side of sweet sauce, macaroni salad, rice, and vegetables. The chicken katsu was unfortunately too dry. I wanted more juiciness and tenderness. The macaroni salad, rice, and vegetables were good. And for our drinks, we got unsweetened oolong tea which was very good. The service was nice and quick. The ambiance was a small intimate and cozy feel. I recommend this place if you are looking for tasty to eat. read more

We stopped by Ramen 101 because we were craving something soupy, but -- the highlight wasn't the ramen. The ramen broth was a bit bland, but the chashu meat was really tender. The standout dish for me was definitely the Chashu Rice Bowl. The chashu was super tender, and the sauce on it was super flavorful, but the cabbage and broccoli in the bowl was undercooked. I'd come back for the Chashu Rice Bowl and maybe try their popcorn chicken or whole squid next time. The prices here are pretty reasonable, which is always good in this economy! read more

Decided to try something new in town and the weather is perfect for ramen! We ordered the Miso Ramen and Vegetarian Ramen and 2 fountain drinks. The service was very fast, we barely waited maybe 3-5 mins. It's a nice small joint, it can be loud but that would be expected. The ramen was delicious, I couldn't finish mine but it was very tasty. They go all in with the toppings (See picture, even tho I mixed it before I took the photo lol)! I got try some new things and that's always a plus for me. Ramen was delicious! Place was so dirty I was afraid whether the food was safe to eat! We arrived before 12:00, no one else was there yet and they obviously had not cleaned the dining area or bathroom the night before. There were dirty rags on the dining floor. The dirty dishes bin and garbage can in the dining room was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom garbage was overflowing and the whole place needed to be mopped! read more

I usually get the tonkotsu ramen here... Its really good, rich broth and great flavor. But I've noticed since the last time I came, the pork belly slices keep getting smaller. For the price, I don't think I should be getting just two half slices of pork belly. Kinda disappointing considering how good the ramen is otherwise. Absolutely delicious ramen! Everything here hits the spot -- rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and big portions that leave you completely satisfied. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you get, and the service is quick and friendly. I love the pho seafood ramen here ! It never misses so if you like seafood pho definitely come. Delicious , savory , and filling! They are quick to serve you as well. I have come here multiple times to order to go and dine in. I have friends who frequent here as well. Great comfort food when you are sick. The only thing is that when dining in , it is super small and crowded and the seats aren't very comfy so not the best ambiance. It's a chain, but it's the best Ramen you can find in Stockton. My only advice is if you are new to eating Ramen, get the bean sprouts separate so you can try them but aren't forced to eat them. I personally hate them, but a good deal of friends love them. read more

This place was our favorite ramen place, but lately, our soup has been getting less meat and noodles and overfilled with beansprouts. We stopped ordering to go after it happening every time. Sad because we used to love this place; but we want ramen not bean sprouts. Unless it changes back to how they used to make it, we won't continue supporting this business. read more

Got a lot of recommendations to come to this ramen spot in town, first time having ramen and it was really delicious! It was beautifully plated, not too spicy, really flavorful. Overall great ramen and gyoza! However, the downside about this place is the size of the restaurant and how packed it gets! They can't keep up with the orders. Although the food is good and worth waiting for, they served our tables meals separately. Half of us ate while the other half had to sit and wait super long for the rest of our tables meals. They also served some tables the wrong appetizers, and when they realized they came back to take it to the correct table. The restaurant was so packed there was no seating inside or even room to stand inside. The lines went out the door and the tables were filled. We had to eat outside in the cold, but at least the ramen was hot. The tables are poorly placed next to the door. Members of our group kept getting smacked every time someone walked in and out of the place. We tried to move the tables over an inch or two, but the tables are bolted to the ground. We came here for a birthday dinner and we really tried to enjoy the best of it. This place is great but they definitely need a bigger space. If the restaurant isn't empty, it's almost not even worth the hassle to get ramen here. Or just take it to go! read more

We ordered the chicken katsu and Hawaiian BBQ Beef plate. We dined in and the portions were ginormous! The katsu was perfectly crispy and the sauce it came with is the best we have found in the area. It's not too sweet but could use some more spices, atm it's like a nice glaze. The BBQ beef was flavorful but several pieces had a lot of chewy fat on it. All meat does so it doesn't deserve knocking a star off, but I would gladly pay more money for better quality beef. It's worth trying but ultimately we will select a different meat option next time. read more

Well, going to a Ramen place isn't my favorite thing to do - as even "vegetarian ramen" are often made with a chicken or pork base, so as a vegetarian, nothing in it for me... ...but kiddo wanted to go on the way back to the Bay Area from a sports event, so we went. I had the Tofu... which was vegetarian, sure... but with a topping of what more likely wasn't vegetarian? I did not try. Kid had tonkotsu ramen. Complained a bit about there being not enough noodles... well, if we ever go back, he can order extra. Why then only three stars... well, the "don't care for vegetarians" comes with the ramen... but it felt somewhat more "we don't care" than necessary... and that then is combined with... proposed tip rates of 20% AND UP for what is mostly a take-out place? Sorry, just no. read more

Decided to give this place a try since we have been craving ramen. We both ended up getting the seafood bowl and were really delish the bamboo shoots mixes well with the noodles, giving a nice contrast. My first bite of the shrimp with the scallops was so savory and good. All the veggies were soft and boiled. The process of ordering at the front, paying then sitting where we wanted to, and then being brought the ramen very quickly was impressive. The staff also greeted us as we walked in and as we left as well. Very well-mannered and nice people. We will be back. read more

Second time coming here!! I think the first time I got the Tonkatsu Ramen but this time I tried my cousin's usual order which is the Black Garlic Ramen. I also asked them to make my soup spicy! The soup overall was really good and the service was quick as well. However I think when they make soup spicy, they add chili oil and I think it just made my soup very oily rather than spicy LOL. Or maybe my spice tolerance is just high but it wasn't spicy to me, just oily. But overall good ramen!! I was craving soup all day and it was just perfect for the cold weather :) read more

I ordered food from Ramen 101 tonight through Grubhub for delivery. I placed my order at 6:05pm and it was delivered at 6:23pm, but I am less than half a mile from the restaurant. I ordered the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu combination. The food was great. Plenty of both types of chicken, 2 scoops of rice, and a generous scoop of macaroni salad. The only bad point was that I asked for a side of teriyaki sauce, but instead got a side of katsu sauce. Also, the sauce was not even room temp, but cold like it was taken out of the fridge so it cooled down my food any time I used it. read more

Walked in and was quickly greeted. We decided to eat in, we ordered our food and we found an empty table and sat down. This place is pretty small inside so it gets filled up pretty fast but there is seating inside. We ordered a kids ramen (this thing was huge ), seafood ramen, chicken ramen, shrimp tempura and also bbq chicken & katsu. Everything tasted really good. The only real complaint is the restaurant was a little dirty and the garbage cans were overflowing. read more

If you're ready to order you will need to use the QR code provided on the table. I personally think some kind of instructions near the QR code/ on the table for the guest would be a little helpful. Nothing crazy either. (Just like a hey order here, and we will be with you shortly ... idk just a thought) If you are patient enough and already ordered someone will indeed come by with water, utensils, napkins and the side you ordered with your pot. For all the staff that was coming in/out the kitchen today service was bare minimum. Hardly anyone came to our table to check on us or the quality of our food. Food wasn't the best for the price either. For me personally none of the pots seemed appealing. I ended up ordering a soup then adding beef, ramen and some corn. Corn was way too sweet. My husband opted for the seafood pot and he later wished he would have just order a custom pot and added a bunch of stuff instead. Way too many veggies. One tiny lobster, two muscles, two shrimp and a partridge in a pear tree.. I ordered the Thai tea and my husband the brown sugar milk tea. Be sure to check and see if your drink already comes with boba so you don't buy extra and not receive extra. My drink was awful and I am a HUGE FAN of Thai Tea. I ended up ordering the same drink as my husband -- the brown shaken milk tea and it was so much better. We still had to pay for all 3 drinks even though the Thai tea tasted like medicine. What really threw me for a loop was the bug (looked like a baby cockroach) crawling towards me on the table. I'm not sure what's going on here but I just was not happy with my experience.

I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. First of all, the takoyaki were very cold at the center. As if they had been previously frozen and then not fully cooked. Not an enjoyable experience eating them at all. The tonkotsu ramen was just ok. Broth was lacking a depth of flavor. The pork was very tender, but also not very flavorful. Staff was very nice and attentive. There was a bout a 10min wait for the food to be prepared. Would not return to this restaurant again.

Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .

The order I got was the mixed fruit crepe, which is roughly 8 layers thick, with Nutella filling. The fruits on it starting at the tip is apples, strawberries, kiwis, and finally bananas. I liked the design and taste of the crepe a lot. I do recommend to switch out the Nutella for a lighter filing such as vanilla cream or cream cheese to complement the fruits, but the Nutella was still just as good. Overall, I highly recommend this place, and will revisit again to try out their soups/ramen/rice dishes most definitely.
