Pho - broth always on point
Aileen J.

This place is our go to for pho and Bun Bo hue. The broth for pho and bun Bo hue are delicious and always on point. They have some specials going on right now which I'm looking forward to trying for take out: fish wrap with greens/herbs :)

2 stars is solely for the customer service. We ordered #538 and #515. Both dishes had no flavor. As a Vietnamese person, I'm sadden by this. Will not be back :/

Very good food and service. There was an abundance of meat and the broth was especially favourable.

This is probably one of the best bun bo hue I've ever had. The pho was also very good, along with the spring rolls. I liked how the condiment set up has chilli peppers already beside the hoisin and the sriracha, since I always have to ask for it. The only negative thing was that since the menu had so many combinations of meats with the pho, my boyfriend couldn't find the combination he wanted so he thought he would choose one and ask for another meat to be added on. We got the bill and his pho ended up being $2 extra because he asked for tripe. They never told us there was an extra cost when we ordered, and $1 would've been ok but $2 seems a bit much. I'd still come back if I'm ever in the area, the iced coffee was hire nice as well.

Shut down by MOH

Besides the friendly owner, good tasting food thats reasonably priced, i regrettably have to give them a one star because recently MOH shut them down as stated in the link: https://www.insauga.com/closure-vietnamesethai-restaurant-in-mississauga-closed-due-to-health-violations I got ill after my last visit, a couple days after MOH shut them down. Very disappointed. Even worse, They have a history of poor hygiene. Very unfortunate

You know you have a gem on your hands when your friends from Scarborough rave about this place. Thank goodness I live 5 minutes away, because this place is my favorite pho restaurant in Mississauga. Firstly the staff are very warm, friendly, attentive, and always smile. The pho/menu entrees are just so delicious. They are not stingy with the amount of food you're given. They make sure you'll be well fed. They have a little bit of a secret menu too and can do special requests. For example I always order rare beef and beef balls pho and instead of a side of sprouts I have my pho with red cabbage. Not only does it give the soup a nice array of colour but it still gives it a nice texture with the noodles. A must try. Another is their chicken wings. Oh my. Just so good. You can have them non spicy, or spicy but the dry rub they put on it is next level. I can't put my fingers on it but it can get very addictive. Only drawback from the chicken wings is if you don't tell them to cook them crispy they sometimes will and sometimes won't so it's hit or miss, so make sure to mention how you want them done. They recently renovated, and got new furniture/menus which is a plus for them because now it actually looks very nice and has that ambiance they were lacking before. All in all it comes highly recommended, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. You've got a returning customer for life.

We arrived shortly after noon and the place was pretty full, but we managed to snag a table near the back. Neither of us was especially hungry, so we opted to share a couple of dishes. We started with one of their specials, the Shrimp Donuts. My dining companion assumed they'd be actual donuts with shrimp flavors, but this is definitely not that. It's essentially shrimp pieces shaped into a deep-fried donut. And it's good, real good. It arrived to the table piping hot, and I took a big old bite right away. The flavors are right on point, and the whole thing is enhanced by the accompanying sweet sauce. It's a terrific appetizer (although awfully expensive at $12 for four of them). For our main, we went with the Khao Soi ("Soft and crispy egg noodles, golden curry, coconut milk, spring onion, red onion, crispy shallot, lime, pickled veg") and we got that Spicy. It's a really solid version of this iconic dish. It's maybe not up there with the best adaptations I've had, but it's quite good. The broth is super flavorful and rich, while the other components are right on point. The spice level was perfect, too. The service was top notch, as well, so I have no doubt we'll be returning to Thai Barn Na at some point.

The satay chicken is a pass, pad thai is kind of sweet, and the khao soi is just fine. I will say these are on the slightly cheaper side compared to spots in Toronto (khao soi was ~$20?) Verdict: I think this place is alright for Mississauga, but being on Dundas Street, you're close to Toronto and you might as well go to a better Thai spot downtown haha.

The space was cutely decorated with Thai fabrics and had a tv screen playing videos of iconic spots in Thailand, which I thought was a cute touch. Let me first say, our server was so amazing. He was super attentive, patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the food. He noticed that I had a gift for my friend's birthday and he offered us a free dessert to make the day even more special. It was just so nice. He also took such great care with explaining all the options. The food itself was delicious. We both got the khao soi with chicken which were massive. Basically one dish could have fed the both of us! And the price was very reasonable. The dessert we picked was the roti pancake with Nutella and banana which was very unique and delicious as well. They also had all the other Thai classics on the menu such a pad Thai, pad see ew, and mango sticky rice. This location is in Cooksville but they do have another location in Port Credit. Not the easiest place to get to by transit but if I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely coming back! Definitely a hidden gem in the GTA.

Her behaviour and how she carries herself has unfortunately bled over to their front staff as well. We were planning to host an evening with friends and family at this location, but unfortunate news had struck within our family and we had to cancel. We asked if it was alright to get our $250 deposit back to help alleviate some of the funeral expenses. She declined and constantly pried into our family situation and was very adamant on trying to push this dinner to another time. We thought it was extremely unprofessional and showed an extreme lack of sympathy and empathy. Gopika rudely challenged us and fought tooth and nail to keep our $250. Eventually we had to give up and let them keep our $50 because it was too unbearable to spend more time and energy in this time of need. Jegachandra Retnarasa was of no use either, you might as well have not even butt in. This restaurant is ran by people who do not care about you and would sell their humanity for $50.

This was on a Friday night and the patio was almost full. We ended up sitting on the patio, beside the in and out door. To drink I ordered the pineapple coconut martini and I was really surprised that it didn't taste strong but it was strong or maybe I felt it more because I hadn't eaten too much before that. It tasted ok but I wouldn't order it again. We ordered the Bangkok style Pad Thai with shrimp and the pineapple fried rice With chicken. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. People that arrived after us, that's two parties one party of two and another party of three to four both got their food before we did Then I saw the pineapple Fried rice come out but then they didn't bring it to our table, they brought it to the table of four and when the server was asking them about it I saw the guest gesturing to take it and then I saw the manager come out quickly and take it back from them and guess what that was actually ours. When I told the manager he just said wait a minute wait a minute and he went back but minutes went by after that and I food still didn't come out. When the manager came out the second time I said we didn't get our food yet and we've been waiting a long time and then he brought out both dishes the pineapple fried rice which by now was cold and the Bangkok style Punta which was hot. The food tasted great. The food quality is excellent. The service kind of sucked because there's not that many of us out there and they really should have noticed that we haven't got our food. We were seated just beside the door so it's not really like we're invisible because they had to pass us each time they went in and out. I'm really disappointed in the service and that the manager knowing gave us cold food that was supposed to be served hot. We probably should have sent the pineapple fried rice back. Since he knew he was giving us food that was cold by now, I suspect they wouldn't have fixed it. I'll never know. I'm really disappointed to have this experience. I took one star off because our food took so long to come out and other tables who came after us for served before us. I took another star off was because our food got served to another table initially and that table even accepted it. And the last star I took off because when I told the manager I think it was ours and it was, he didn't listen and said one minute but it did still didn't come out after that. I had to ask again and then he brought out the same dish that was served to another table and I know that's true because it was cold. The manager knew this and still served it to us. Shame on you.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.
