This restaurant we have been coming to for many years. The quality of food changes, we returned to eat often as it improved again. We love their curry brisket with the roti. Their lamb skewers. The kids really like their garlic bread. The service depends on who is there. Majority of the staff are great. The inside of the resturant has been the same , it has booth seating and also regular table seating. The tables are a bit small usually feels very cramped when you order to share. Overall rating 3.4/5 First time back at this restaurant after a few years. This used to be one of my go-to Vietnamese/Thai restaurants in Markham, but the competition has gotten fierce in recent years. I was craving something cooler for lunch and happened to be in the area, so I decided to visit. The grilled chicken with spring roll vermicelli is pretty much how I remember it - the vermicelli noodles seemed thinner now, but I was satisfied with the taste and portion size. It's not too salty, but there's still a good balance of meat, veggies, and noodles with every bite. I don't think the portions are as large as they used to be for the price, but that's understandable in today's economy. Note that I didn't try their pho this time, so I'm not sure how it compares to other pho restaurants. Service was quick and welcoming. I think this is my third review of this place. The food is good, the service is quick and simple, and there are so many tables that it's easy to be seated when you walk in. The sound of people enjoying their food, as well as the movement in the kitchen isn't very distracting in such a large space. Came to this restaurant since i was feeling thai food and my friend wanted pho and this place had both. We got the chicken pho and chicken pad thai and both dishes were very tasty but warnining - it is not very traditional. The pho tasted like regular chinese chicken noodle soup and the pad thai had a ketchup-like taste. Again, the dishes were delicious but do not expect traditional dishes. Was looking for a pho place and legit did a random search....this was closest to our next stop. Very pleasantly surprised! Soup base was pretty good, more beef flavoured than lemongrass. Kids liked that, hubby so-so. The rare beef was tender and the noodle portion was super generous! As usual, I deviated and got the beef stew noodle soup, and it was not bad! A bit salty, but flavourful! Service was good, not overly friendly, but at least acknowledged when we walked into the restaurant. Anne took care of us! (Nothing annoys me more, than being ignored upon arrival. Even a chin nod would placate me.) Parking is horrible right now, due to construction (as of Oct 2022). My family has been coming here for years and I'm surprised that I haven't written a review yet. The food here is consistently good. I guess it never had a real "wow" factor but you'll always feel satisfied. There are certain dishes that they do extremely well and a few dishes that could be done better. But overall, you can't go wrong with this place whether its dine in or take out. Our take out dinner from last night was no exception and in fact, there were some outstanding dishes which is why it prompted me to write this review. Let's start with their pho noodles, the soup base is always flavourful and they are not stingy with the meats. We always get #201 special beef noodle soup which is a mix of rare beef, brisket, beef ball and tripe. My daughter and I get this one because of the tripe. There's a lot of places that has this same dish and you usually have to look close to find a few pieces of tripe but Pho Pad Thai is generous and you'll find plentiful of tripe and beef. I also like the fact that the soup that is packaged with the noodles is always very hot. We also got the steam rice rolls (stuffed with minced pork) that was done perfectly. I forgot how much I love this dish and they do it so well. The only dish that fell short was the vermicelli as there was very little veggies, pork was a little dry and the noodles were a little hard (probably just needed to be reheated to soften) We kind of went all out with our take out order and also got the shrimp rolls and Hainanese chicken rice. The prices are so reasonable here that even with the 5 dishes, the total including taxes with the 10% off cash discount, was only $53. If you like Vietnamese food, give this place a try. read more

Dined in here on a Friday night at 8pm with three friends. The restaurant was packed but we managed to get seats immediately. My friend had been here a couple of times and recommended their pho. Their pho comes in three sizes (small $9, large $10.50 and x-large for $14). The small size is good for those who aren't super hungry. I would say the large will fill up an average guy's tummy. And the size from large to x-large is double!! I got the small size pho special since I wasn't super hungry. I really enjoyed my meal. There were very generous on the meats given and they were pretty lean. The broth was also very tasty and didn't taste so oily. A Chinese runs restaurant that serves both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Scrumptious food served by friendly staffs. We ordered a BBQ pork vermicelli and a Thai curry which we paid extra dollars to combo it with naans. BBQ Pork vermicelli ($13.49) Smoky pork belly served on top of a generous portion of warm vermicelli. Finely chopped veggies (cabbage and cucumber) added great freshness and crunchy texture to balance the grease from the pork belly. The sauce on the side was apparently house made and it gave a really unique fishy and sour taste to the noodles. Thai red chicken curry ($14.59) The curry itself was creamy and had a hint of coconut flavour. Veggies and chickens were generously added to the curry, and I was pleasantly surprised when the chicken was exceptionally tender. The Naan, omg, was buttery and had a really thin crust. First time here at Pho Pad Thai 越泰盞, a local spot specializes in Vietnamese and Thai cuisine! It was BUSY on this cold Saturday night. By 7pm or so, the place was full. Apparently, this place is always buzzing with customers. You should get to this plaza early to avoid no parking! I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai, mild spicy but very comforting. It had a nice portion and I really enjoyed this dish :) We also shared a Green Curry Chicken with an extra order of roti. The roti was light and buttery, and paired nicely with the curry. With such a delicious curry sauce, I think next time I would get it with rice instead ;) Fun facts of the 3 Thai curries: GREEN curry is the HOTTEST of the 3 Thai curries! The spiciness lingers. Pho Pad Thai surprised me in a good way to say the least. From the outside, Pho Pad Thai looks like it would be a smaller place. Once you walk in, you'll notice it's a lot more spacious. There are a very large number of tables available. With the quick turnover that a Pho restaurant is, you'll never have to wait too long before you get a seat. The menu has a plethora of items to choose from. As I noted above, there are Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes to choose from. For this visit, we ordered just items you would find at a Pho restaurant. We ordered Pho, spring rolls and chicken wings. The food comes out very quickly after you order it. The Pho portions are very good. If you're a big eater like me, the XL will fill you up here. The broth at the start is very good. It gets a little salty near the end though. I'm someone who finishes the broth and I remember being super thirsty after because of it. The spring rolls were amazing. They were super crispy on the outside so they must of been cooked fresh to order. The wings were the same. Overall, the I was very impressed with the Pho items here. This place is surprisingly delicious. I say surprisingly because the sign outside is less than desirable. This restaurant offers Fresh vermicelli noodles, as well as dry/frozen noodles. We order the pho house special and it was everything that I wanted. From the savoury broth to the perfect serving size. I got the smaller one, my partner got the larger one and our bowls were empty when he finished (aside from the broth - drinking all of that is too much MSG). I also order the Vietnamese coffee, which came the authentic way with the small coffee pot that was steeping (with condensed milk already inside) and I got to pour the coffee into a tall clear cup with ice. Yum! Finally, the restaurant was tidy and clean, and the staff was so wonderful. We were the last ones in the restaurant at closing time and at no point did they rush is to leave. I'm always a sucker for curry, so when I discovered Pho Pad Thai and they had curry on their menu I just had to try it. I don't like my curry TOO spicy, but I still want that kick. The waitress recommended that I order the Thai Red Curry Seafood, so I got that with rice. Verdict: it was absolutely AMAZING. It had just the perfect amount of spicy. The sauce is very creamy and has a hint of coconut milk to it. The bowl is also filled to the brim with seafood. Even though it's a bit pricey ($12.25), the amount of seafood you get definitely makes up for it. I honestly would highly recommend red curry (well, at least, the red curry here) if you love curry but don't like it too spicy. In regards to the seating, it's plain-jane simple. Nothing too fancy. But it's still comfortable and gives off some very cool and chill vibes. Great for if you're there with a couple of friends and want to chat a bit while eating. Pho Pad Thai - Thai Red Curry with Seafood - Vietnamese Near Me - Markham, Ontario

I had dinner here with my parents recently. The food was flavourful, but really oily/greasy. We started off with spring rolls ($5.75) and all had the vermicelli. I had the spring roll and beef vermicelli $8.75, my mom had the spring roll, shrimp on a sugar cane and beef vermicelli $9.95 and my dad had the meat balls, shrimp on a sugar cane and beef vermicelli $9.95. Then my mom and I shared the Che Ba Mau (3 bean dessert) $4.25. The spring rolls come 2 per order, but they are fairly large. However, I think still expensive for the price. They were really oily/greasy. They were also mostly taro, vermicelli, carrots and black cloud fungus; there was very little meat. They were crispy though, and while I think the wrapper was rice paper, since it was somewhat blistery, it actually tasted like a cross between rice paper and the usual wheat-based wrapper. The vermicelli used in the vermicelli dishes are the big round vermicelli - like the diameter of spaghetti. It's not the smaller vermicelli - like the diameter of spaghetini (which I prefer). The bottom of the bowl is filled with bean sprouts. You also get some shredded lettuce and matchstick cucumbers, but not nearly as much as I would like. The beef was not grilled, but rather stir-fried with onions. It was tasty, but oh so oily/greasy. The shrimp paste on a sugar cane tasted like mostly flour filler, there did not seem to be that much shrimp. My mom felt that the meatballs were bland. Both meatballs and shrimp paste were also oily/greasy. Dessert was pretty good though. The Che Ba Mau had black-eyed peas, mung bean paste, red beans, green gelatin strips, crushed ice and coconut cream. The beans/peas were perfectly cooked - not too mushy, but not too hard. The coconut cream was rich. The dessert was the right amount of sweetness. The ice could have been crushed a little bit more, but that's a minor issue. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. It was super busy, so she didn't really check up on us, but she came when we called for her. Decor is modern. They didn't do such a great job cleaning the table before we sat down though. There was still some food on the table and the benches (we had a booth). I had to wipe it down with Kleenex from my purse. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and there's lots of parking. This is a decent noodle place in the neighbourhood. If you are looking for authentic Thai or Vietnamese cuisine, you may be disappointed. I usually order the Pho and lemongrass pork chop rice. Price is decent and portion is big. Good thing is you can choose either dry pho or fresh pho. There are some combos which give you good value, but they are Cash and Dine-In only deals. We ordered 3 dishes: Laksa, spring rolls/grilled meat balls/beef vermicelli, and green beans with pork shoulder. [Good] Beef - Have to split up the vermicelli review because there were both good and bad. The beef was great, nicely grilled and very flavourful, not dry. Laksa - Wife said it was tasty. She said nothing she disliked about it. Came with 2 giant pieces of mussel which I ate that was quite good. Service - Fast and friendly. All servers spoke Cantonese so didn't have communication issues. They are friendlier than other typical Chinese places I've been to. [Meh] Spring rolls - About average or below average on taste. Green beans and pork shoulder - Looked promising in the picture but dish came out lukewarm. Beans did not have much snap and the shoulder was dry and didn't have that bounce I was expecting. [Worth it?] Ok on value as we had leftovers as well at roughly $20pp after tax and tip. With the menu so large, it's hard to tell what dishes they're good at. What we experienced had ups and downs so hopefully we will discover more ups next time should we return. read more

I'm was actually very pleased with it and almost shocked I gave this a 3. it's a 4.5 to me and given I can't select that I'll round up to 5.0. good pricing too. everything under $10 still and you don't ever need to get the XL unless you're sure you'll finish a mammoth bowl of food. it's almost good to share to be honest. When I came here a couple of years back, service was actually pretty decent and I remember the food being a lot better than what I ordered this time. I wanted to experiment and try their Hainan Chicken Pho and I have to be honest, it was quite disappointing. The Chicken was alright, but there was only like 5 pieces of chicken and when you pay close to 13 dollars for a bowl of soup noodle and chicken, it was pretty upsetting that I did not get any value for my dollar coming here. Service was also sub par as when I went there around 11:45 AM which was close to when lunch prime time is about to be had, there was only one waitress and was clearly only there to take orders and bring out the dishes and service for asking for more tea was non-existent. Maybe I will come again to try it out, but for now, there are better places where my money can be spent. read more

Located in the apple creek plaza where Mi Ne sushi and Master Q are, this restaurant is has the basic variety of vietnemese and Thai food. Their broth is great and I never go home thirsty or feeling "lao" (cantonese you know? filling from fatty soup LOL). They also have a good portion of the meat unlike other places where they have been cutting back because of inflation. This is probably my favourite pho place in markham and it's conveniently located right at the intersection of woodbine and applecreek! The parking is always ample due to the failure of the surrounding stores in the same plaza. I've never had trouble finding parking here, only trouble with the annoying and douchey scrubs that frequent master Q next door. This is surprisingly a very popular place during lunch on the weekdays! I come here for my lunch break and apparently so does every single employee from every single company based in markham. People LOVE pho and who can blame them? It's delicious. The service is quick and the main boss lady gets shit down fast! However, there are some staff that operate on ZERO English and it's extremely difficult to communicate with her.. every time I order from here, I sit there praying that she isn't the one to take my order down because it wastes so much time- even when I'm only pointing to certain numbers on the menu. What the hell? Anyway, the pho is deeeeelicious! The broth is piping hot and tasty with little trace of MSG. The beef is soft and flavourful- exactly what I look for in a nice rare beef and flank pho soup. The noodles come either thick or thin- I choose thick and it is AMAZING. Texture of the noodles can make a girl fall in love. I always end up coming here whenever my coworkers and I are looking for a yummy place to go for lunch. I go to Pho Pad Thai often since it's close to my gym. Staff is really friendly and knows who we are, but even if they didnt, they always have a smile on their face and are polite to their customers. The food here is decent, but nothing special or outstanding. I do enjoy their curry dishes. The red curry was flavourful, creamy and a good amount of spicy. Their curry pad thai isnt spicy at all, but the flavours are ok. Their rice dishes are ok, but smaller than other Pho places nearby. I've been coming here for many years, back before when it was Woodstone. This restaurant continues to be a master of efficiency. During lunch it is always packed, but they greet you right away and seat you immediately. Tea is brought to the table within a minute of arrival. Regardless of how busy it is, your order will be there within 10 minutes of ordering, often in 5 minutes. It makes for a guaranteed quick sit down lunch. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese and Thai. None of the dishes are exceptional but they are all good, always fresh and hot. I usually order either the Pho, for which there is a large selection of options, or the red curry chicken. 3/5 Man, I was just DREAMING about the Bun Rieu Cua dish I had next to Great Mall in Milpitas, California and this week, my cravings were insupressable. I searched around and found Pho Pad Thai as the closest resto to my house that served this exact dish. Unfortunately, the dish failed to live up to the AMAZINGness I had experienced in California. I'm giving Pho Pad Thai 3 just because I enjoyed the dining experience. The seating area is pretty spacious, the menu is extensive, and the servers were really really nice. They brought all the necessary utensils specific to the order we placed, and were pretty attentive while we were there. The food however, wasn't the greatest (or maybe it's because the only viet places I've been to this year have received at least 4.5 stars on Yelp). House special Pho 3/5 - It tasted VERY standard. I'm starting to think there is some soup blend that average viet restaurants use because it tasted exactly the same as food court pho / xue lua. It didn't have the homey-ness that is captured by Pho Tai Bac or Little Saigon pho. They also give you braised bean sprouts as opposed to raw - I actually prefer it this way, but it definitely takes away the authenticity Beef Pad Thai 3.5/5 Also very standard. Resembles the pad thai you get in the fast food chains that serve pad thai cafeteria style. It was very sweet and ketchupy. Good for kids. Bun Rieu Cua (Tomato soup with crab paste rice noodles) 2/5 The soup was just really bland, and I could hardly taste the crab, let alone, see any ground crab meat. BBQ Pork with steamed egg/grilled shrimp Like the other dishes, the pork has the right flavour but very mild doses of it. The steamed egg is NOT a sunny side up egg you would kind of expect. Instead, it's like a savoury steamed omlette with minced veggies that tastes REALLY good. Sad I couldn't get a runny yolk, but still an interesting spinoff. Their menu is similar to all the other restaurants around, with the standard pho items. What always brings be back to this location though is the broth. Other places definitely overloaded with salt and MSG, and I often leave feeling very thirsty. However, this place is quite great and I find the broth to be super flavourful and not overly salty! Decent portions for souped noodles and meat, but the real star for portions would be their rice. I decided to forgo my usual Beef Pho, and instead had a Shrimp Pad Thai. It was hot, flavourful and plentiful with a good portion of crisp, large shrimp. I also splurged and added an order of spring rolls. These are my favourite--the meat filled deep fried version. They were crisp and crunchy on the outside, with a first rate meat filling. I really didn't need them, since I couldn't finish the Pad Thai anyway. But I'm glad I did order the spring rolls. Except now I am craving them. Every day. Pho here is pretty good. They're generous with the noodles, which were firm and the broth is flavourful. I'm Vietnamese so I've eaten a few bowls of pho in my lifetime. My only gripe is they didn't separate the raw beef from the noodles, in my takeout order, so my noodles ended up bloody which is a pet peeve of mine. Also the rare beef slices were cut incorrectly, it was sliced with the grain when it should've been against the grain, this resulted in a very tough piece of meat when cooked. I came here with my friend about 2 weeks ago. On a Saturday. After a game of pool/ billiards. We arrived at 6pm, we got a booth seat. I ordered the Lemongrass pork-chop with rice. My friend ordered the lemon grass chicken with rice dish. We both ordered Hot Milk Tea as well. The food was good. The hot milk tea was good too. However the service, I felt they were rushing me out. The staff collected my friend's plate and hot milk tea cup. While I was still eating. It was a little busy, I understand that. However that rushed feeling while eating. That usually doesn't sit well with me. I'm not sure if I'll return when it's 6pm. Maybe at an earlier or later time, I'll try again. Overall, the food was good.
