First time here and the food is good, it's tucked in a small plaza with plenty of parking. We had pho of course and a couple apps. The pho broth was flavorful and didn't lack anything specific but I can honestly say I've had better. Generous with the steak and tendons and all the fixings so that was great. I especially like the shrimp paste on grilled bread. When it first came it looked pretty simple and unappetizing but then I took a bite and there was surprisingly quite a bit of flavor. Loved it. The summer rolls on the other hand was just ok. We ate it but nothing special stood out. Sauce was standard peanut butter dipping sauce. I wasn't wowed. I was really happy to have stumbled upon this place... During a blizzard! The Pho was really delicious. The vegetables were really refreshing and the soup was not too salty like some other places. New cooks? Good question. The pho broth has changed. It had definitely gotten sweeter. I'm not liking the change. Bun bo Huey has changed too. The pork feet pieces are cooked until soft and tender anymore. Taste funky now. The beef tendon was not cooked tender either. Again, not sure what happened. I tried the food here for the first time this weekend and I don't think I'll be eating here again unless it's to try their pho. I ordered the broken rice and grilled shrimp as an entree and wonton soup as an appetizer. The wonton soup had the right flavor, the only thing I didn't like was that it had lettuce in it and I hate lettuce. My entree, however, was a different story. The sauce that it came with looked like duck sauce but smelled rotten, so essentially I had white rice with grilled shrimp. The Gods smiled upon me today because this awesome place just showed up on Eat24. I immediately ordered and wondered what would go wrong. Turns out, nothing!! My food was delivered on time and is delicious! I got the Pho Ga, which I have had at many, many restaurants, and this was good. The broth was not quite as flavorful as some other places, but it was still quite pleasing. I also got the vermicelli (bun) with egg roll and it was flavorful and fresh. Hands down, Service from Susan was superb! Came in yesterday with family and ordered take out. You know the usual pho beef noodle soup, along with a vegetarian pho (pure vegetarian broth), and a order of pad thai. I believe it was the nephew took our order but they were kind enough to let us wait at the bar (which by the way looked amazing!) You could clearly see how much effort they put into designing the place They even served us tea while we waited for our food. We also ordered a mango smoothie, mango strawberry smoothie, and a Vietnamese Condense milk coffee (which was what I got). The flavor blew me away. Along with my cousin who tried the coffee. It was very strong and flavorful and sweet but not too sweet. I like my coffee strong, but for those who want to try, i forewarn you - brace yourself! When I asked what coffee bean they used, i was surprised to hear they use New England coffee bean. I was expecting the Cafe Du Monde Coffee and Chicory. But hey the flavor was there! To add to the positive experience, when my cousin ordered the mango smoothie, it had a bit more milk flavor and not enough mango to her liking. Then comes Susan who was very reassuring and offered to add more mangos and even strawberries - reason being, she tried the Strawberry mango smoothie too and liked it more. That's what I call 5 star customer service. When we finally got our food, we all decided to tip them $2 from each of us ($6 total) for the great service. Even though we didn't eat there. NOW here's where things went a bit messy... 1) it was our fault for not double checking the order. 2) when we got home, the vegetarian pho came with Chicken broth (which was a no no). So we called them back and....HEY it's Susan again. She was AGAIN reassuring and kind enough to give us another vegetarian soup. No bickering, No blaming the customer, No hassle. 5 STAR SERVICE. Pho was delicious. But it didn't feel the same as eating it right at the store. But overall, will definitely come back when I'm around the neighborhood. For entrees I had the broken rice with grilled chicken, and my partner had a rice clay pot. Both our dishes were delicious and the portions were huge! I think our total for 2 apps and 2 entrees was just about $30, the prices are definitely super reasonable for the generous portions. I usually get the clay pot catfish and the hot and sour soup with catfish and it's honestly comparable to momma bear's (the soup is actually better, but don't tell my mom that). The restaurant is clean and spacious. The environment is very warm and welcoming and the staff are very friendly. I personally wouldn't get the pho there, just not up to my standard. I love their duck noodle there though (mi vit tiem). They're not cheap on the duck at all. The caramelized fish and sweet and sour soup (ca kho to and canh chua) are also very good. They actually use catfish for these dish rather than tilapia like some other restaurants. Their rice dish are good as well. Everytime I went to eat here with my family we always order sliced onions on the side. When i went last week they charged me 4.00!! I was upset so I tried to talk to the owner she was so rude and she turned her back to us. She didnt care. She ignored us and she does not care for her customers. I recently got sick and had a craving for porridge so I was excited to find out that this place, close to home, had it! I ordered the beef one which was ok, but certainly could've used more flavor. I ended up adding my own touch to it to boost the taste though. I also got the grilled pork rice plate and that pork was super tender and tasty!However, maybe it's just me, but the white rice had a plastic-like consistency so I ended up throwing it away.
