This is our family go-to place for Asian goodness. It may not look like a fancy place, it's clean inside, staff is friendly, and the food is consistently tasty. Plus they have the best boba teas I've found in the area (typically served smoothie style but they can just do the milk version upon request). Our favorite is the V1... Vietnamese noodles, shredded lettuce, BBQ'd pork, sprouts, egg roll, with sauce on the side. My teenager eats his without the sauce, husband uses half, and I pour it all on; its like a sweetened rice vinegar dressing (although our last waitress said it was fish sauce - we don't think it is, but it might have some in it). My husband and I are regulars. Last night we wanted to order some food and he said no that the kitchen was close. Mind you we drove from Santaquin to pleasant Grove and I told this guy. I would like to a manager and he said I am the manager. We showed up at 805. I'm not haply and won't ever recommend it to anyone. They closed at 8 turned me away at 8:05.. The first time I ever tried pho I hated it, but weirdly enough, I recently started to crave it. It took me 2 weeks, but my boyfriend and I finally managed to get out and try Pho No. 1, and oh my god it was incredible. We started off with potstickers, which were very reasonably priced. The sauce was a bit sweet for my tastes, but my boyfriend said it was perfect. The potstickers were absolutely amazing! I ended up just dipping them in some soy sauce and they were perfect. I got the Pho Thai and my boyfriend got the Pho Thai Nam. Both were absolutely delicious and hugely filling, the perfect remedy for a cold winter day! I genuinely have no complaints, I ate as much as I could and my boyfriend finished both of our bowls! I also got mango boba, which was absolutely amazing. Pretty good, very decent pho around Pleasant Grove. I was there for some days and got tired of too much heavy Christmas type of food and always find pho comforting. Huge bowl size for only $8! One of the best things about attending this restaurant was the toothpicks. The toothpicks are made out of bamboo or some hardwood that made picking your teeth a delight. They didn't splinter or loose their tip. Great find Pho No. 1 on having the No. 1 toothpick. As for the pho it's not quite No.1... not bad just not the best pho I have had. It wasn't oily as some pho places tend to be, which was a major plus, but it didn't make up for the bland taste. Their portion sizes aren't as big as other pho restaurants and they are stingy with the meat which was a let down. The good thing about Pho No. 1 was the pho tasted fresh and simple which made it nice to personalize the flavor to your liking with the sauces. The bail, sprouts, jalapeños, and cilantro were all fresh and delicious. Once you added in all of the extras it ended up being very good pho. The service was good as well. We had a very attentive waitress who always made sure we had enough water and that we were taken care of. There wasnt anything that tasted Chinese, sadly in their Chinese menu. The sweet and sour chicken wasnt good. The vegetables and noodles were bland. Kinda disappointing. I havent tried their pho yet, I hope the 4 star ratings here are accurate. The Vietnamese fried egg roll was good but I thought they were a little pricey. I was hesitant to try this place again because years ago I tried it when they had corn dogs and cheese sandwiches on their menu too and we were not impressed at all. I've been wanting to give it another shot and knew it was different when I walked in because the menu was authentic Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Ahhh. I ordered to go and only waited a few minutes before they had my food. I ordered the Chicken and Noodle Pho (V8 I think) and it was all deconstructed when you order to go. I got home and assembled the dish and there was definitely enough for 2. It was absolutely fresh and delicious! Fresh herbs, great noodles and chicken and veggies. The broth was very tasty and not too salty. I think that was what made it gross the last time I went years ago...salt fest! But not anymore! I'm excited to try more things on their menu! read more

The Pho was good, but not great. One of my favorite things about Pho is how aromatic and flavorful the broth is. Sometimes I even get it with just veggies to enjoy the broth without all the distraction. The Pho here is good, but the broth leaves a lot to be desired: the aroma, the overall flavor and the spice. We were pleasantly surprised the chicken was great- thin cuts of chicken breast which were great. The highlight was the lemongrass chicken vermicelli noodle bowl. Coming from SoCal on a week long road trip, we were dying for some real Asian food. This hit the spot. I got the vemecilli and it was a lot. The honey glazed pork was really good. Egg rolls were okay, but at least they were crunchy. I really liked the consistency of the noodles. The downside is how much noise there was going on. A screaming kid at the next table over. Pho No. 1 is doing a great job here in Pleasant Grove, the spring rolls are large with quality ingredients, I like their fried Vietnamese egg rolls as well, and the owner is very friendly. The two of my favorites are P1 which is their house special beef noodle soup (with all the meats, tendons, and tripe), and their V1 vermicelli bowl with lemon grass grilled pork, two grilled shrimp, and an egg roll. Their soup broth is light and very clear, not overly salted, and the portion for the meat and the noodles are big for the price, and you don't have to worry about not having enough cilantro and basil either . The vermicelli bowl is packed full with lemon grass marinated pork and fresh crisp vegetables, three grilled prawns, and an egg roll, once you add the sweet fish sauce and mix everything together, the flavors are great! The food from Pho No. never gets old, and is one place I will to go at least once a week. read more

I have spent Months in Vietnam and I am a chef who cooks Asian Food, So yeah I got a lil bit of knowledge when it comes to Asian Cuisine. Let me just tell you this place hits the spot! I have lived in Pleasant Grove for almost a year now and have not wanted to try this place because honestly I did not want to be disappointed in my experience. Boy was I wrong, the broth here is phonomenal. Super tasty, the quality of the brisket is great and the owners are very nice. I have been here 3 days in a row and am going back again tonight! I am a little surprised by all the really good reviews here... while the pho was pretty standard and also delicious there were other problems. I decided to get an appetizer of fried shrimp. There is an art to cooking fried food. You don't let it cook too long... And you cook it at the right temperature. I expected batter Fried shrimp to be crispy and not too greasy. These had a really thick coat of batter and every time you bit into it grease actually squished out. Very gross. Got through one out of five. LOL Another thing was the service. While prompt... The server was a little condescending and acted like she really did not like her job. It was a little offputting. I am a pretty easy-going customer with little in the way of requests. It felt as if she wanted to whole eating experience to be about her... Does that make sense...? The broth on initial tasting was a little bland for my liking but the addition of hoisin and sriracha sauce plus the broth ruminating with the steak eventually ended up closer to the classic pho taste we all love. So I ate here a few days ago and I have 2 words for you: authentic pho. I had the meatball pho and it was super nummers! The broth is rich and they have all the fixin sauces. I've never been to Vietnam, but my friend's dad fought in the war and I'm pretty sure he would say something like "the pho at this place rivals even the best I've found around the Mekong Delta". Pho No. 1 is exactly that. Number one. Our number one Pho spot in all of Utah. I only first tried Pho a couple years ago. Once I did I fell in love. The meats and veggies blended with the spices. Oh and that sweet sweet hoisin sauce. Then the sriracha comes out to play. We have tried lots of different Pho places around Utah and we just keep coming back to No. 1. I recently got a root canal and really needed something soft and warm to ease the pain. I got take out and was surprised by the way they packaged the order. However, it was perfect since I could decide how much of each item I wanted in the broth (bean sprouts, chicken, sauce, etc). It was great and really hit the spot.
