    Creamy Crab Rangoons

I was visiting Boise for the week and neeeeded to get some soup! This pho really hit the spot. The rangoons were some of the best I've had, and the hot and spicy chicken was AMAZING as well! Not too spicy. If I ever come back to Boise I will definitely come back here!

Pretty good for pho. I ordered the chicken pho and it was pretty tasty. Cute little hole in the wall spot.

Brisket & Meatball Pho | Spring Rolls | Charbroiled Pork My go to pho when I am in Boise. I've been coming here for years and love their dishes and service.

My daughter wanted me to try this place. We went for lunch and it's a small restaurant but it's super cute and it does get busy. We didn't have to wait too long for a table. Service was fast, and the server was super sweet. The food was delicious. I absolutely loved the lemonade it was so good and refreshing. I ordered lemon grass chicken. I think it was good with the cucumber salad yum yum. My daughter ordered the Pho, and she loves it.

Best pho in town! Brisket is tender, broth odd savory, portions are nice. Great ambiance

Nouveau = small portion, high price, no flavor Stopped here during our short weekend in Boise. We were both feeling a little sick and looking for something yummy to warm us up. We both ordered the pho beef brisket and added meatballs. We received a small portion of noodles, that I finished in five bites (yes I counted), one meatball split in half and four pieces of very small cut brisket. Big disappointment. Service was good but this is overpriced for a warm bland snack.

This is the best Vietnamese food in Boise. I am obsessed with Pho and this spot was delicious. The pho broth was rich and flavorful without being salty. I recommend not putting hoisin or hot sauce in the broth, it's too yummy to cover up. The Spring Bowl with Chargrilled Pork was my second favorite dish. The fresh summer (spring) rolls are the best to start off lunch/dinner. They have patio and indoor seating. They serve beer and wine. Puppy friendly patio.

Very good Pho, and the sizzling crèp is darn good too. If you visit Boise, do yourself a favor, and dine here.

Two enterprising young women are owners of this gem of a popular West Bench neighborhood gathering…read morespot that they created in what was an old dump of a 1950's era strip mall space and funded in part with crowd sourcing. Being curious since they opened this in Fall'ish 2024 and finding myself in the neighborhood, this was a destination stop for my husband and me when we went in about 11:30 on a weekday for coffee and a nosh. Pride of ownership shines in the clean and funky feeling interior and it is clearly popular because it was full, almost every seat, of people that seemed from the neighborhood, including a number of parents with young children. They advertise this as coffee and market, but I honestly didn't notice the market part, in that things for sale didn't jump out at me. That may have been because I was just trying to navigate to a seat in and out in the crowded space. THE MO: Coffee and the limited menu for food is ordered at the counter, carry to your seat and bus your own when finished. Although we were the only people at the counter and there were two people in the kitchen, it took quite some time for someone to come to take the order, although once someone finally saw us, they were pleasant, if not welcoming, in taking the coffee order and then again when my hubby went back to order pastries to go with it. MENU: Coffee, other beverages and a very small option of eats is listed behind the counter and on a paper menu there. Options included soup of the day and Gaston's bakery pastries. There were some breakfast sandwiches by local provider Poppyseed Bakery in the fridge section, we weren't told about them but seeing them when passing by the fridge on a trip to the loo, asked if they could be heated and were told they could be. We chose a couple of pastries ($5.50 each) and were reminded why we seldom buy Gaston's products for being too buttery and one note. The cortado ($4) were good. I noticed a woman at the table across from us who was sipping a beverage and eating what looked like a sandwich she had carried in. I don't know if that is part of allowable stuff or not. The pottery used for all of their coffee service, ours and the mugs at other tables, is great. AMBIANCE: They did an admirable job here of making this light and bright and just funky enough with pride of ownership and loving care in maintenance sparkling through. Seating includes a few level in, not step up, booths along one wall, a sofa and chairs near the front and many standard height tables and chairs (maybe too many when all full as getting to seat is tough) and a play area for kids in the corner. It had far less comfortable 'breathing room' space than I anticipated from photos. But I didn't take interior photos to post because I think it is rude to do that when lots of people are going to be in them who maybe don't want to be. ;-) LOO: There are two and both are uni and sparkling clean with great murals on the wall and good plumbing fixtures. My husband even pointed out the "cool" sink. Both are ADA compliant so kudos to them for that. (Yes, it is law and code but you'd be astounded by how many ignore both.) ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot right outside the door. (There are too few spots for the parking lot but that is not the coffee shop owners' failure. That is the lot owner's issue.) Level in the door. All on one floor. The tables would probably work for a wheelchair user to roll under. But it would be near impossible, based on my experience yesterday (I have had multiple sclerosis since age 20 and sometimes use a wheelchair) for a wheelchair user to get between tables and chairs for a clear path of travel to get to seating or the loo.

So it was delightful when The Sturiale Place reopened last month (May 2018) as warm and wonderful as ever for ambiance in the lovingly restored old house, hospitality, service and food. With a revised and bit expanded menu and a new young Chef in the kitchen, formerly Executive Chef at a Portland area McMenamins, this was a unique little gem before and the changes have polished it even brighter. Our first lunch after re-opening was as delightful as the others we enjoyed here last year (see my previous review for details). This time we enjoyed being able to try new menu items like green salad with Delicata squash and herbed goat cheese (half order $7.50), house made pappardelle with braised lamb Bolognese ($18) and mushroom Marsala on polenta ($13). As a great new surprise on the wine menu, manager Gina Sturiale (daughter of Rita) has added a really good white and red wine by the glass, like the nice Negroamaro my husband enjoyed, for as little as $5! The menu spans options from soup through appetizers and starter or main course sized salads through entrees to desserts. Prices range from $6 to $18. Total inside seating is limited to maybe 16 and maybe about that many on an outside deck. So this is not a place for big groups. It is likely not a kids' destination either. As added treat they are now open on Thursday and Friday from 11 to 2 for lunch. And now reservations can be made via Open Table.

I did subtract one star because there is only street parking and many spaces you need a residential permit to park. Also, they have such limited hours of operation. From the moment you walk through the door, the restaurant exudes an upscale, elegant atmosphere, and every member of the staff is warm, welcoming, and professional. Our server, Kim, made the evening exceptional. She was attentive, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality. She truly elevated an already wonderful dining experience. We started the evening with a seafood tower, a bottle of champagne, and the beef carpaccio. The carpaccio was exquisite, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I also ordered the lobster bisque. While I would have loved a few more chunks of lobster, the broth itself was rich, velvety, and incredibly flavorful. I would happily order it again. The steak selection is outstanding, including premium cuts from Idaho's own Snake River Farms, which was a nice local touch. I chose the ribeye accompanied by scallops, while my wife enjoyed the petite filet. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. For sides, we shared the potatoes, asparagus, and Brussels sprouts. The potatoes and asparagus were the stars of the table, but the Brussels sprouts were also excellent and complemented the meal beautifully. The wine list is extensive and thoughtfully curated, with fantastic selections for just about every palate. We enjoyed a couple of outstanding bottles that paired perfectly with dinner. To finish, we shared the carrot cake and the butterscotch crème brûlée. Both desserts were outstanding and provided the perfect ending to an exceptional meal.
