We ordered the cranberry turkey sandwich, Italian and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup to share with an extra side order of sourdough. The sourdough alone was phenomenal. Crusty exterior with a fluffy interior that just melted! I think I scarfed down my sandwich a little too quickly because everything was balanced so well, and the bread absolutely divine. The soup was also great, and paired extremely well with the sourdough bread. I wished there was a location closer to me, however if I'm in the area I will always opt to come here!

The only downside is the parking lot, it's small and not the best, but there is parking available. Overall, well worth a visit for a quality sandwich. The location has ample seating inside and is always clean.

I spoke up and said I had been waiting over 25 minutes for the Thai tea boba after being told it would only take 10 minutes. The staff said the boba takes time to prepare and I responded that they should have given a realistic lead time. As a customer, I felt ignored, alienated and forgotten about. I have nothing against different cultures but it's not polite or welcoming for staff to be socializing in a manner that is ethnocentric and exclusionary, acting like customers are invisible. A word of advice to customers: don't tip staff in advance but only tip if they deliver on what was agreed, and no less. Tipping staff who are not truthful or go back on their word is a waste of money. Tipping is not mandatory but only if the service meets expectations. Staff who don't care about their customers are not deserving of tips.

Enjoy table seating or better-yet at their bar seating and you can chat with the friendly staff! They have a "staple menu" that is written in chalk on a board and then there's their menu that is very diverse. They also have a great Happy Hour menu with items priced below $8, including sake! I enjoy their pan-fried gyoza, salted edamame, miso soup, firecracker shrimp, fried calamari, chicken karaage and most other delicious dishes. The food options were limited and keep in mind for those who have children, most of the options come with a spicy kick, you'll have to explicitly tell them "no spicy"! There was a party who had been sitting for a while before we got there and a kiddo took a bite of pizza and was crying, screaming from it being so spicy. With my ramen the portions are tiny for what you pay, with 1 piece of meat, not enough noodles. Flavor wise it was spicy and bland. We ordered a couple appetizers which were not very good. The edamame was overly salty and soaked in soy sauce and the karaage was probably the only good thing and that was a little overfried. No one in our party finished our food or took any of the leftovers home. Save yourself the trip, not worth trying the "unique foods".

The beef broth had a great flavor but the ret was a bit sub par. Ordered extra veggies in my pho which were overcooked, the spring rolls had mostly lettuce inside, the "rare" beef was overcooked. My friend got the shrimp pho and said the shrimp tasted like it hadn't been washed before cooking. We were so upset when we learned that Joyee's closed and sold, but we ended up coming here anyways to our unlikely surprise - we actually like it better! We have been twice so far, but will continue to be back so they don't leave. Their portions are VERY fair for the price. We ordered the following: Spicy Wontons - 4.5/5 - Saucey, spicy, and has lots of meat Dan Dan Noodles - 5/5 peanuty, little numbing spice - delish. My husband's favorite dish. This was better than Joyee's. Cucumbers - 5/5 - LOVED it. They don't crush the cucumbers like other places. This is very munch on the vinegar side, very fresh with garlic and cilantro. Fried Green beans - 5/5 - Best green beans that I have had. Soup Dumplings (XLB)- 3/5 - This was the one thing we ordered that was not as good as Joyee's. Beef Chow Mein - 4.5/5 - My brother liked this one since he isn't a fan of spice. Fish Cabbage Soup - 5/5 so good. This was new to me but I will be ordering it time and time again. It has a kick but a lot more flavor than the boiled fish soup. Custard Buns - 4/5 - The inside is like a salted egg yolk if you like that. I was a fan, brother not so much.

We each ordered a different dish, and of course, I ordered the beef pho. It was kind of a gamble. I immediately regretted it as soon as I placed the order, fearing it wouldn't be up to my standards--especially since I'm a chef and used to live in an area with a very high Vietnamese population with many well known pho restaurants. When the pho came out, it only took a few sips for me to realize I was wrong to have prejudged this restaurant. The broth was a little lighter than at some other pho restaurants; however, I could taste all the hidden ingredients like star anise, ginger, and onions. The meat was well-cooked, and everything tasted fresh. My friend ordered bò kho and bò lúc lắc, while his sister had the rare beef pho. They both finished their plates and bowls to the last drop. The restaurant is clean and the service is excellent. If you are in the area and looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, look no further--please check out this spot!

I'm not from the area and wanted to try some Asian food outside of the San Gabriel Valley. I ordered the pan-fried bao and fried rice, and my total came to $27.04. I gave the cashier $30, and she asked if I wanted my change back. Of course I said yes. She then told me she didn't have enough change and asked if it was okay to give me back only $2. Looking back, I should've offered her the extra 4 cents, but I didn't think of it at the time. Either way, I don't think it's appropriate for a cashier to simply keep the remaining 96 cents because they don't have enough change. It's not really about the dollar--it's the principle and the way it was handled. As for the food, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite either. Pan-fried bao are usually one of my favorite things to order, but these were just okay. The fried rice was okay as well. Maybe I'm spoiled from living in the San Gabriel Valley, where there are so many amazing Asian food options, but this just didn't compare to what I'm used to back home. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially between the awkward change situation and food that didn't really stand out.

The service is always very good. I love the big metal water Cups that keep it cold and don't need refilling as often, especially with the spicy dishes. It had a lot of flavor and it was spicy. I had a cold last week and now all I have is cough so I was craving a little spice. It hit the spot. I also tasted the cashew nut chicken and that sauce is really good too. I still love the heart shaped rice. It's kind of far so I don't go often, but they are opening one in vista (much closer to me) so I'm excited for that. Perfect winter comfort food!
