Good, authentic Vietnamese food hidden in La Puente? Yes, please! You would never know, tucked away next to a food 4 less housed a Vietnamese restaurant that contains so many varieties of Vietnamese Dishes (not just pho). Unless you're in SGV or Westminster area, It's hard to find a Vietnamese restaurant with all these yummy varieties. We've ordered bun xeo a prior visit and it was crispy and flavorful. Today, we ordered egg rolls, which uses a different chewy wrapping. Fried to perfection and paired with some lettuce and vermicelli for wrapping. My favorite is bun rieu, a tomato crab based soup noodle. Loaded with ingredients, I used to think Nha Trang in Monterey park had good bun rieu, but this edges it out with the abundance of toppings and flavorful soup. My husband ordered the bun- cold vermicelli with grilled beef and egg roll. Pour the fish sauce over it all, mix it with the lettuce, peanuts, etc. and you got yourself a cool, refreshing, savoring meal. Perfect For a warmer day. I would recommend this place and also recommend trying something other than the typical well-known Pho. Try something new, I think you'll be pleasantly pleased. read more

Service was terrible. The people working looked miserable and they were very rude. We couldn't even ask a simple question without them being rude and laughing at our face when we had never had pho before. Which is sad because their food was good. When I heard there was a pho opening up near by I had to come check it out. I ordered the Pho. The Pho was TASTY!! they serve a good amount of noodles.(like YESS! I like good amount of noodles) The bowls are large and the broth was amazing. The meat quality was very good. I like to order the meat on the side so I can dip it and cook it to my liking. We ordered the egg rolls, perfectly the right amount of crispness. The inside had taro which was an added bonus because these were off the hook!! The leafy greens were fresh and crisp not old looking. And we also ordered "The pork chop, rice , salad with Shrimp Cake - it was delicious but I was already stuffed from the noodles and egg rolls. Wait what, an Asian restaurant that will fill your waters without you having to ask them??? Pho Oh Love sits in a Food 4 less plaza so parking is never a problem. Go inside their store and you'll find a small, quaint mom & pop style restaurant where they have a full, two-page menu of food to choose from. But there's pho in the name, so I always go for Pho. The broth is super flavorful. Probably with the right amount of MSG where you have a lot of broth depthness, and a pinch of seasoning herbs & spices to really give an intense meat flavor; the herb and spices are subtle, but balanced in the aftertaste of the explosion of meat flavor. For Pho Tai, the meat is pretty decent; it can be a little chewy but that's okay with me because the noodles are actually al dente here (and not overcooked - yay!) Service is quite good as the wait staff will come by with water and fill your water up and ask if everything is OK; surprising but really appreciated. The only downside is that their AC doesn't necessarily work on a hot summer day, but they do try to mitigate (with little success) by using a lot of fans to keep the temperature down. You're still going to sweat if you get pho here. TL;DR: pho is really good, probably of higher quality than most; AC is broken but easy parking. Recommended. read more

Ambiance is not excellent, but they play decent upbeat music and the food overshadows ambiance. The food arrived in a timely manner. Deee-lish!!!!!!!!!! That's all I have to say about the foods I ordered. First of all, who knew that this hidden gem was only 15 minutes away from my home? I don't have to travel to the OC to get delicious Vietnamese food. Next, I really needed some Vietnamese comfort food. I was having a bad day and this totally made my frown turn upside down. Then again, I would come here if I was happy. Lol I ordered some egg rolls as appetizers. It came with rice noodles, pickled carrots, lettuce and cucumbers. The egg rolls don't look pretty but my gosh! They tasted amazing! Honestly, the best egg rolls I've ever had in a restaurant. I also ordered the bún riêu. It was so flavorful. Not salty and definitely not watered down. Yes I ate all of that, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It reminded me of my mom's cooking. Being that this area isn't exactly known for great authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Pho Oh Love is definitely one of the most solid options out here, with just a few things to note. COVID measures: No vaxx checks, and none of the staff wear masks on the job. Hand sanitizer at the cashier counter. No outdoor dining available. Beef pho: Their beef pho broth is flavorful and not very oily. A bit sweet, but not distractingly so. The meat quality was pretty good, just a few pieces were tougher than the rest. Chicken pho: So it turns out that their pho ga doesn't use chicken broth. It's just their normal beef broth with chicken meat instead of beef. Sad because I love the broth of authentic chicken pho. On the plus side, the chicken itself was boneless dark meat which is the best kind. Eggrolls: We ordered eggrolls a la carte for $2ea because the 6 piece eggroll appetizer is $12 (essentially the cost of another entree), and too much for two people. Unfortunately, when I asked for lettuce to wrap it in (a common thing for eggrolls) the server was quick to say "it doesn't come with that" unless you order the large appetizer version. So...that was disappointing because I've never had issues with this at any other Viet restaurant. But if that is their policy, I will respect that. The eggrolls themselves were a decent size, and fried nicely. I prefer my eggroll filling with more black pepper and wood ear mushrooms, but it wasn't a bad eggroll by any means. I noticed they have bun rieu (crab noodle soup) and bun bo hue which are more unique offerings. I might come back to try those and determine if the 4 stars still stands. If you live close by, the quality is pretty good for this area and I would recommend it. But we drove about 25min to eat here and personally it's too far to come here regularly. read more

Ultra crispy and perfect texture. Very meaty taste since it doesn't have vermicelli and wood ear mushrooms inside, less fillers more meat. The pho was excellent, the noodles were perfect and the contents didn't disappoint. The bowl arrived with firm noodles, soft meat and as the menu noted "soft tendon". I finally have a chance to try this place out tonight. Their food exceeded my expectations! I ordered rice and vermicelli grilled pork plates. Grilled pork was tasty and cooked to perfection. They included vegetables to each plate and all were fresh and kept in cool temperatures. Most Vietnamese restaurants would serve you vegetables in room temperature, which is borderline unhealthy per food handling standards. The store is very well kept and clean.
