Came here last night with my husband while we were waiting for traffic to die down for something quick but tasty. Upon entry, we were greeted by someone who got us seated immediately! It was pretty quiet for a Sunday night but the service was incredibly attentive. There was a girl who was wearing a shirt that said "Smile More" and she was so so kind with the biggest smile! I ordered the rare filet mignon pho and my husband ordered the brisket pho. We also got the shrimp and pork egg rolls. Those came with a total of 4 with some sweet sauce on the side. Overall everything was really good! Once I took a bite of my pho I audibly said "Mmmmm"! The flavor was amazing. The vibe in the restaurant was very casual and laid-back. I love that their lunch special includes the choice of a spring roll! Not many places offer that. And for a good price. However, the vermicelli chicken was sooo... bleh...Nothing seemed fresh... the chicken was dry, all the veggies just did not look or taste fresh. Throw your money in the trash instead. Most disgusting meal I have ever had. Throwing it away immediately from how inedible it is. Hi-ya! So it must have been a rough night for the staff at Pho-Ology that night we went to eat. The place felt empty and the photos I saw on Yelp were just of the art along the wall--without scrolling too far in. Anyway we were acknowledged by one of the staff and seated quickly. The dishes must have all been recently washed because there still was water in the bottom of every cup. The napkins even felt like there was a lot of condensation in the air--not quite wet, but like damp? Anyway we ordered The classic Pho and fried rice. The broth was pretty good and the chicken Fried rice good too. The reason I dropped the star count was because their systems went down and they had to ask people if they had cash while seating them--because the card machine was out. You could tell because the TV which was running on a stream had the rotating circle trying to connect soo--you knew the internet was down. We had the cash, but I feel like instead of bringing it up to the customer let them order and don't hassle them about how their going to pay...that's the businesses problem not a customers. I feel that the business should just put up a sign or comp the meal after a customer has ordered if the card system is down. I know it seems like a weak rant, but I dunno. I don't like to bad review local places but this places service last night was so rude the owner really needs to know. Came in with my boyfriend last night around 8:25-8:30 and literally the first thing they say is "We close at 10". Okay that's fine I think giving us 30 minutes is still plenty of time but that's not the problem. The problem was they assumed we couldn't speak Vietnamese and they were basically saying "customers go home" and other rude things about us since we had come in 30 minutes before they close. Or maybe that's just how they treat customers and they don't care how that would make us feel. Food was decent. Pho was a little salty and my vermicelli could have used a stronger sauce. The golden bao was the best part of my meal. But definitely won't be returning to support a business who treats people this way. We went here on May 15 after a doctor's appointment in Whittier. My boyfriend and I saw they had a lunch special. You get a side order and a bowl of pho for 15.50. It is a pretty good deal! A lot of people are saying the food here is pricey, but I think it is reasonable priced. Maybe they are used to cheap 12 dollar pho. The quality does speak for itself! I think the pho is flavorful (although some people may prefer their pho a little saltier). The employees are super nice and attentive. They were helping us with the menu. I love the pho brisket here. We also had no problem with seating. We went around 10 am and there was plenty of seating. Parking is not so bad. All in all, my boyfriend and I have eaten at a lot of pho places and this one is arguably our new spot! The best pho joint out of the places we've been so far. Order this off Uber Eats for a buy 1 get 1 free deal on their classic rare steak pho! Two pho meals for only $8.85-what a bargain! I'm not quite sure how long this will last but definitely be on the lookout for this restaurant when they give off more similar deals. The portions were huge! I actually should've divided my noodles in half before eating it because I was stuffed halfway through and couldn't finish. The noodles, meat, and broth portions were very generous. They also give veggies and lime as well. They gave a container of Sriracha and Hoisin sauce which I thought was strange because they only gave us 1 of each when we had 2 phos. In addition I ordered a Mexican coke and a Thai tea but for some reason they gave us 2 Mexican cokes. Either it was forgetfulness on their part or they ran out of Thai tea and had to substitute.
