This was my first time at this restaurant as I don't normally do things in Tracy. My family and I decided to have lunch first. It was near noon so the restaurant was busy. We got seated at a table for 4 near the door. At the time, the door was closed. However, each time customers entered, it was drafty. It was a hot day so one of the servers decided to keep the door open. Due to where the restaurant is located, it became a wind tunnel where we were sitting. A table was being cleared further in at the restaurant. We told the person clearing the table that we wished to move to that table, and he said okay. In the meantime, we also told one of the waiters that we were moving to the table being cleared. He said we couldn't as he was giving it to the people that just came in the door. Then an unknowing female server directed the people waiting to that table. We told her that we had requested that table, and the guy clearing the table said it was okay for us to move to that table. We explained the situation to her and also said that the male server was denying us that table.. She apologized to us and spoke to another waiter about the situation. She moved us to an empty table at the back of the restaurant. However, we were upset that this situation ended up the way it did. The male server created a situation that didn't have to happen. We ended up on a table that comfortably seated 8 people. We were only 4 people. The table that was originally being cleared seated 4 people. It took a while for our waiter to take our order after we were re-seated. It took even longer for our food to come to our table after being ordered. Other tables seem to be getting their food much quicker than we got our food even though they came in after we were re-seated. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich for me and the shrimp egg roll to share. Both dishes were delicious. I would have rated this establishment 4 stars. However, due to the table situation and slowness of getting our food, I am giving them 3 stars. read more

I'm a frequent customer of this place and I love their food. The only reason I set the rating to 3 stars is due to their take-out service. They have forgotten items in my take-out orders more than once, which is really disappointing. Just today, I got home after driving 20 minutes just to find out my order of spring rolls wasn't in the bag. I called the restaurant back frantically & I was very upset. The server apologized and said if we can come back they'll make it. So then, my boyfriend had to drive back and forth another 20 minutes! This was SO inconvenient. I honestly wished I was offered some sort of compensation for this inconvenience. All in all, great place to dine. But pls don't trust their take-out. Went here for the first time a couple of days ago and it was great. When we went in the place was nice and clean and the staff greeted us very kindly. It didn't have enough flavor and was too dry. Even the fried egg was overcooked and disappointing. My sister's Grilled Pork Chop was full of flavor, and she kindly, as usual, shared a bite. We returned last weekend, and our favorite was the Chicken Chow Fun. The noodles were savory, seared, thick, chewy, and full of umami flavor. I've had plenty of chow fun at other places, but these were the best. The bits of chicken were small and didn't add much to the flavor. There were also green onions and peppers for some added crunch, all topped with plenty of cilantro. I also had the Pho with meatballs. I mostly sipped on the broth since I was full of appetizers and Chow Fun. The broth hit the spot, and I was also happy with the abundance of Thai basil. The place I usually go to for Pho is stingy with their basil. The servers mostly left us alone but quickly gave us the napkins and to-go boxes we requested. It's casual, clean, and inviting. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Came for lunch with a friend and ordered pho with filet mignon on the side. My friend is not Asian and doesn't eat food like this often, so he wasn't sure what was okay or not. The order came out wrong, which was fine at first, but everything went downhill after that. One server completely ignored us when we tried to get his attention -- he was right there and chose to pretend we didn't exist. Another server brought out raw beef but refused to bring hot broth to properly cook it, even though our pho was no longer hot. I overheard staff discussing that they didn't want to give us hot soup while my friend was literally trying to eat raw, undercooked beef. It was disgusting to watch and honestly shocking that the staff allowed this to happen. Only after I directly showed them how raw the beef was did they finally bring hot broth. One server ignored us entirely, another denied us hot broth to cook raw beef, and only a third server actually took us seriously. I regret not taking a picture because it was disturbing to watch my friend try to eat meat that was clearly unsafe. The lack of care, communication, and basic food safety was completely unacceptable. read more

We've been to Rice n Roll'd a few times--usually when we're craving spring rolls--and while the food is okay, the service can be really inconsistent. This time, we were seated with menus and then... nothing. The restaurant wasn't crowded and there were plenty of staff around, but no one came back to check on us or take our order. We waited quite a while before Jason, one of the servers (who didn't seat us), finally noticed us and stepped in. Thankfully, Jason was super friendly, apologized for the delay, and promised to take care of us--and he really did. We had some tricky dietary requests, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Props to him for saving the experience. The food? It's not bad, not great--just okay. Nothing to rave about, but it gets the job done when you're in the mood for spring rolls or something light. i've been going to this place for the longest time, years even since I moved to Tracy in 2020. Most recently, which was maybe now a month ago I became very ill when I ate here. I couldn't quite put it together because I never became ill. But I incurred the stomach flu and when I went to ER, there were other people, according to the staff at the hospital that there are many people getting sick nowadays because of unhealthy preparation of food. I never saw this coming to me, but because I was so so sick and it took me a good week to two weeks to get better because if I wasn't having stomach issues, I was vomiting. And I have other friends that also go to this place and pretty much they experienced the same thing. So I'm not so sure if I'm doing justice by writing this review but I just wanted to say that it's saddens me that I can't go here anymore because I really loved their food and it might've just been that period of time that it happened. I do remember someone coming in looking fora person in charge. He had a clipboard and I wasn't quite sure what that was about, but come to think of it was that the health department inspector? So just saying when you read this review, i hope that the management of this place takes note of this and corrects whatever problem it is at their place because they do have good food but if it's not prepared properly and if people that work there don't wash their hands or carelessly you know, don't practice keeping the food warm enough like the Pho broth should be steaming hot... and not luke warm...then no wonder the likelihood of becoming ill is higher than normal. read more

We tried the Bánh Mì Gà Nướng (grilled chicken sandwich) - The chicken and pickled veggies were super flavorful which made it a 10/10 for me Chicken pho - flavorful, delicious as well. I made the mistake of ordering the large size, HUMONGOUS lol. But flavor wise, def 10/10. Lastly I ordered the combination chow mein for my daughter (5 and 3 year olds) they loved it! Devoured the whole plate. I will say for the price of the chow mein I expected a bigger plate, but it didn't take away the tastiness. I tried my friend's bun bo hue which had much better flavor than what I ordered but unfortunately, the meats were really tough and inedible. I didn't think a house special combo pho could go wrong but this restaurant's pho just didn't hit the mark for me. I rarely leave a review this bad so you can trust me that this is all this place deserves. I came in and seen two families seated so I can't use the excuse they were busy either. I ordered a coconut juice with no ice and grilled chicken spring rolls. It took 18 minutes to get my order. I walked up to counter after 13 minutes and they all seemed stressed and obviously forgot my order. They gave me a coconut juice that they added ice and three time the amount of water to the juice mixture. It was disgusting. It didn't taste like coconut at all. It tasted like nasty water. This gets zero stars... seriously that bad. Next they gave me shrimp spring rolls. I took a bite as I was starving and then noticed. Ugh I told them and they took back my shrimp rolls and another five minutes later brought me the grilled chicken spring rolls. Yup I waited 23 minutes to eat. Wow! They did nothing to make up for their two mistakes. Didn't offer a discount or even ask if I wanted to keep the wrong shrimp rolls. Bad customer service. The grilled spring rolls were good. Yay for some decent Vietnamese restaurants in Tracy! It's hard to find Vietnamese food in this area that is as good as the Vietnamese restaurants in San Jose. My family and I have been frequenting this location for quite some time, and over the years it seems like they've rebranded a couple of times since they first opened. We visited on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The best item here in my opinion is the rice plates; I typically always order the Com Tam Suon Nuong ($13.50). They don't use the classic broken rice that is usually used for this dish; this visit, unfortunately, the rice tasted super dry as though it needed more water in the rice cooker. But, the grilled pork chops were great! It came with two - a bit on the fattier end, but were marinated nicely with lots of flavor. It also comes with a side of soup. If you're looking for a kick, you could also ask for chili paste on the side. Service was nice and quick and we were in and out in maybe 25 minutes. Note: if you order any of their pork chop items with additional sides (i.e. the pork chop dish with shredded pork and a steam egg patty) we did notice that they give you one less pork chop. Prices seemed on par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the area and there's plenty of parking in the area. read more
