First off, let me just say that parking here sucks. There some street parking spots close by, but I can't imagine there being many options when the evening rolls around with people coming home from work. Walking in, the restaurant is pretty big. Probably the biggest Vietnamese restaurant in the Valley next to Asian Sisters on De Soto. The restaurant is a bit outdated with what looks to be a karaoke set up in one of the corners. This is a family owned business as it looks like the whole family was there when I visited. I walked in and immediately was hit with the Pho aroma. That's already a great thing. It was probably 1/4 full when I walked in around 1ish. Sat in one of the booths and placed my order for Pho Xe Lua and Bun Bo Hue to go. Waited about 5 minutes and the food came out. I can't really tell between a regular and large bowl anymore. Either way, I tasted the broth and it was delicious. This is before I added anything in to it. It was the classic pho taste with a slight sweetness to it. The noodles here seem to be a little bit thinner than other places I've been to. It was still fresh and chewy, so it didn't bother me. The meat however was hard. It wasn't tender and I'm thinking they are using a cheaper cut as I didn't taste much fat on it. The brisket had more flavor and was tender, but they cut it with the grain, so it was stringy and a little tough to chew. I wish they would cut against the grain to make the dish more enjoyable. There's pieces of tendon, trip and meatballs. Now, I haven't to every Pho place in the Valley, but I think it's safe to say that this is probably the best Pho in the Valley and competes with the SGV for sure. I'll update this review after I have the BBH for dinner. The service was attentive and I like that they came by and checked on me. read more

The meat needed to cooked a little longer, because if it's not fully cooked, the meat will stick to the bones and becomes difficult to get off. Filet Mignon Pho: Meat was very good. This is one of my go to spots for pho in the valley. I've dined in and ordered for take out numerous times. Their filet mignon and rare steak pho is my go to, sometimes I'll swap the rice noodles for egg noodles. Their menu is huge! Not only do they have a ton of noodle soup options and main dishes, they have a seafood by the pound and also a lot of drink options! The service is pretty quick here which is nice. The staff at the restaurant is extremely friendly and the order was packaged, neatly and safely. One of the containers had the fillet mignon with white onions and it sauce. The second container had fluffy, fresh steamed rice. There was also a sandwich bag of pickled vegetables and fresh lettuce. They did a great job with packaging everything separately so it doesn't get soggy. The fillet mignon is cooked perfectly. It is very tender, extremely flavorful, and the sauce is perfect. Once you immerse it with the fresh fluffy steam rice also enjoyed the pickled vegetables, the fresh vegetables, and the steam, fluffy rice. Definitely, definitely recommend! This place has officially become one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the valley!! I personally am not a huge fan of Pho but this place has so many different items on the menu. The best part is they recently added cajon food and have crab, shrimp, mussels and more! I ordered the filet mignon with rice and the cream cheese wontons. With my friend group we also had the egg rolls and the spring rolls that are wrapped with rice paper. I also got the Thai tea which was one of the best ones I've ever had. When looking for a new place to dine, I end up travelling far when actually, there are hidden gems in my back yard. Pho Saigon 1 has a vast menu of over 100 different items. The star of this show is their Pho soups. I will have to try it the next time. Today, I was in the mood for a Vietnamese rice dish. So, I ordered the Com Bo Luc Lac. The menu says it is flame broiled filet mignon, but the server said that it is a stir fry dish. The beef was not all filet mignon. There was a piece or two that was regular beef that was tough and chewy. The bite size filet mignon pieces melted in my mouth. The dish came with steamed rice, lettuce, pickled cabbage and one piece each of sliced cucumber and tomato. The accompanying vegetables were all fresh and had good optics.
