Piece of whole chicken that was EXCELLENT
    Linda M.

Food not the best. Service really nice!! Ambiance also really nice! But yeah, my fiancés fam weren't too happy with their plates. My bun bo xao was okay. At first I was like YES só good. But after eating it through, the onion was way too big and a little too raw... and skimpy on meat lol. HOWEVER they do have the best whole chicken plate!! Omg that chicken was soooo good. I got a small breast piece from my fiancés nephew and I regret not ordering that lol.

Delicious Vietnamese food with quick service My favorites are their chicken and the noodles dry style with pork and seafood. They give good condiments like their housemade pickled peppers which pair Deliciously with these dishes! Ambiance is casual. Plenty of seating, but parking is limited. There's more parking in the back lot and back street.

Egg rolls fresh and hot! The mint was perfect along w sides.

We just started and OMG..... just the egg rolls w lettuce wrap and spring rolls exceptionally delicious. We also order #69 combo plate shrimp, calamari and charbroil beef over rice! To share... because the size of the rolls was so big and filling fresh. Vietnamese coffee and soda lemonade so good as well! It was worth the drive from Ventura county. We use to come out here before, don't know why we stopped because it's only gotten better. Place clean, music relaxing and service is polite and quick! Highly recommended! We will be making family trips out to Valley again. We usually get Pho! But this combo#69 porridge with mix protein n veggie so filling and the veggie were the best part for me. Loved it! Side note: we've been here before, and it only gotten better! Don't know why we stopped travel out to valley! Other than Covid maybe. So glad we returned and will be coming back for more w family! Highly recommended. We even ordered egg rolls, spring rolls and the famous fried chicken! Our servicer says, Yes, pollo frito so good! we were very happy w everything food, ambiance and services!

Great service and clean eating establishment. They need to spellcheck their food slides that shuffle through the monitors around the restaurant. LOL Food is yummy! Must be, because I have been coming here since 1999 or somewhere thereabouts. My recommendations are their oyster sauce marinated chicken with rice ($13) charbroiled shrimp with rice ($12) and the charbroiled pork chop with rice ($12). Also, the soups (pick your choice of noodles) are super popular and excellent on a cold day! I prefer the steak. For sweetness, get the coconut milk with boba (it's crystal boba). They also have milk teas that are reasonably priced also ($6).

This is my family's favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the West Valley! Pros: -Food is always fresh, delicious and large amount -Service is very fast and efficient -Servers/Host are always very friendly -Great prices -Cater to food allergies/requests -Clean restaurant -Free parking in front and back Cons: None at this time I can think of We recently had a large gathering of 20 people and they were kind enough to reserve a section of the restaurant for our party. The food came out fast and delicious. Overall, they made our gathering a success and we always appreciate their service and friendliness. Highly recommend checking it out!

Never dissapointed with their food! I always order the deep fried chicken with broken rice. To me, that's a MUST ORDER kinda dish. My mom ordered dry noodles with shrimps. My friend and her husband shared the noodle soup with pork & shrimps and a side order of egg rolls. We were all happy with the foods here. They were both regular customers here. Service was great, prices are average with pretty big portions. Depends on the hours, sometimes parking is a bit difficult. Highly recommended to others

Tried their Deep-fried chicken marinated in oyster sauce and it's so good. Quick service. Will come back to try other food.

Love this place but I still can't understand how to pronounce the name: is it pronounced "bale" (like a bale of hay)? or balé like (ball-ay)?

Its pronounced ball-ay according to one of the servers :)

What kind of rice is served? I love it.

It's called broken rice or cơm tấm... it's a popular style of rice from southern Vietnam's SaiGon region.

I love the homemade kimchi and takuan. I could eat both of these with some rice all day. We started with some noodle soup. Handcut noodles, beef dumplings and vegetables made for a comforting start to the meal. Then we got an order of dim sum. They give you quite a few pieces. They are stuffed with pork and Chinese and are absolutely delicious. We also got a half order of the Korean Fried Chicken. It was piping hot and very crispy. The kimchi steamed buns were next. They were large and very filling. Each bun was packed woth kimchi, pork and vegetables. We ended with sweet red bean steamed buns. These were also large and filling. A great way to finish our meal. A whole order of chicken is $28.99. We would definitely order again. Dumplings are handmade fresh daily. King Steamed Dumpling With Pork And Vegetables is huge, fluffy and bouncy. The taste of the filling was okay. The dim sum was a good size and looked pretty. Hard to pick up with chopsticks without the bottom breaking. The bottom was really delicate so using a spoon makes it easier. The Marinaded Beef $15.99 (half order) was perfect with rice. Complimentary small Sides: kimchi, pickled radish and cabbage salad. I really liked the pickled radish. This place is tucked away in a strip near the Northridge Promenade Shopping Center. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. Nyi had wonderful customer service.

The menu was on laminated paper which must be a few years old and felt disgusting to touch. I started with hot tea and it was served in a metal cup. I wish they served it in a nice ceramic container for customer's enjoyment. For lunch, we ordered chicken chow mein and their pork and crab dumpling (like a xiao long bao). The chicken chow mein had a boatload of cabbage and probably 10 strips of chow mein noodles. It should have been called cabbage noodles (lol). The pork and crab dumplings would have been a hit, but the dumpling shell had a "soapy" smell. The meat inside was soft and tasted good, but I couldn't get over the smell of the shell. We would have also wanted to try seaweed salad, but it was unavailable on this day. The parking at Northern Cafe is plenty. The staff is also courteous. But given the state of the food and overall feel, I give it only two stars. Truthfully, you can find better Chinese food close by this area. There's Maru Ramen on Reseda and Nordhoff, or Silverlake Ramen on Rinaldi. And no, I don't work for either of those places. All of this feedback is based on customer experience.

The ingredients alone don't have much flavor so it becomes really dependent on how much bibim sauce and sesame oil you decide to add. The tteokbokki is pretty simple too - the tteok was a little overcooked for my liking but some people might prefer it this way. I'd definitely come back for the kimbap alone!

Server guy was chill. The food is served in a paper bowl, unlike the nice bowls you see in their pics. Tl;dr: if you're curious, don't waste your time, bafang is open 5min away Preface: I KNOW it's mall food, but for a restaurant that continuously pops up as #1 on Yelp whenever I search for food around the northridge/chatsworth area, I'm going to treat it as if it were a #1 spot. Beef noodle soup: to be very blunt, this was quite flavorless. The beef was dry as bones and looked like it was sliced with a mandoline. The noodles seemed undercooked and it felt like I was eating al dente spaghetti noodles. I got a medium spice level which didn't even seem that spicy, just a lot of cough inducing chili oil with no burn. Pan fried dumplings were ok. It honestly tasted like it was deep fried and not pan fried. Unsweetened black tea: hands down the best of the 3 things in the combo, which is quite telling. Honestly you get a decent amount of food for $15. But to constantly take the top 5 for recommended on Yelp in this area and waste my time to even look at it, it definitely doesn't belong remotely close to top 10.

The service was friendly and the wait was reasonable. Its located in the mall which means that you don't really get much of a vibe from this place alone but of everything surrounding. The soup was not spicy imo, I have a high tolerance, but it did have a good flavor. The noodles were thick and soft but they lacked a bit of flavor. The beef was soft and flavorful with the smaller bits of beef, which resembled ground beef, were very tasty. The soup was good overall but felt a bit too oily. The dumplings had a light crunchy exterior and the inside was juicy but it felt just a bit too mushy for me. Overall a good place and I would return to try something else.

How can a business with great and unique food and good workers get 1 star and If I could give it 0…read morei would? Here is how: I have been coming to this place since it soft opened late 2023. Over the years, the place has a good customer base for good reason. The issue is that they are ALWAYS understaffed. Don't let the hiring sign on their door fool you. Owership intentionally understaffs even when they have people hired to cut cost. They are so understaffed that customers wait over an hour on average to be seated during typical dining hours on WEEKENDS with half the restaurant seating capacity available and unused. Then ordering, the staff is so busy that they do not take in restaurant orders and ask the people seated in the restaurant to place online orders for pickup which also forces you 5o pay gratuity upfront unless you carey cash which most people no logner do then take their receipt to the cashier. Then you have the issue of this rule being selectively enforced. The staff seems to pick and choose who is forced into placing an order online vs who is not. Today we arrived at the restaurant around 6:20pm. Despite half empty, we were seated around 7:45. 10 minutes later of not being aknowledged, i wave a familaor face and he tells me that it would likely be faster if we place the order online. The order was placed by 7:57. it should order compelte by 8:28 but by 8:38 our food had not arrived. i get frustrated and ask what seemed to be staff that was already frustrated where the food is and before i even get to the part that it shows online our food was already served, he tells me: Dude, we are really busy. it will come out when its ready. a few minutes later the food came out and i asked the person bringing the food who us the manager. he said he was and i told him the situation. he took full accountability and even offered a refund saying he recognized we were regulars. i said i recognized him too and said I will not accept a refund. It is not fair to make food for people and not get paid but I told him that that someone whether it was him, the manager before he took over the shift, or ownership is accountable. This type of experience and standard of service is horrible for a business. He kept apologizing snd isnisted on a refund to his credit. I refused but thanked him for the courtesy. I made sure that above all, respect for customers should be prioritized when other service variables fall short. its the one thing that can mitigate this type of feedback and the one person that tipped this in the wrong direction leading to this review was the last straw that broke the camels back. But to be clear this is not a one incident occurence. This is the third and likely final time I come to Tasty Pot.
