My friends got me into Vietnamese food a couple years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I thank the Food Gods every day for having Pho Saigon Garden close to my place. It's the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area and I go there on average once a week. I always get the vermicelli with pork (V1 on the menu) and I could eat a mountain of it every day. They service is always quick and the people working there are friendly. They also have a nice bar with a good selection of beverages. Most of the time they have football or other sports on the TV so I usually go there to watch some of the games. The decor and lighting give a off a nice casual vibe. Hands down, if you're sick of the usual steak/ burger joints on the south side hit up Pho Saigon Garden and prepare for a euphoric experience. read more

I'm glad we have another Vietnamese restaurant on this side of town. That said, the food here wasn't the worst Vietnamese food I've ever had, but it wasn't the best either. I had pho with chicken. The meat was really tough and instead of being shredded, it was large and cumbersome to eat. The pho broth was mediocre, but I did enjoy the generous portion of jalapenos, basil, lime that they brought to our table. We ordered summer rolls as an appetizer. If there was mint in them, I couldn't taste it. The peanut sauce was delicious, however. My husband ordered pho with seafood. This was the first time I've ever seen pho with broccoli added to it. He thought some of the seafood was chewy and overcooked. The server was friendly enough, didn't hover, checked back once to see if we needed anything. The restaurant is bright and inviting. When I moved up to Virginia one thing I really wanted to find was a solid Vietnamese restaurant, and this it! I have become a big fan of Pho Saigon in a big way. The Beef pho is definitely my favorite, and the crispy spring rolls are pretty awesome. If you are around Hull Street you should hit Pho Saigon up. And the takeout is great as well! read more

California has a lot of good asian food. It's a meltint pot, diversity. With that, I am spoiled to know what GOOD food tastes like. But this place caught me off guard. Who would have thought that a place in VA would have a nice vietnamese cuisine? Not I. I actually enjoyed this place. I was in VA for business. So everything is new to me. Tried a couple of places, but I started to miss my roots, asian food. Although there wasn't any good korean food, vietnamese was the 3rd best option. So, we tried to appetizers. They weren't to obad. Had the spring rolls with shrimp. Was your normal spring rolls. Nothing WOW about it. Then I ordered a rice plate with pork chop. It was delicious. Tasted as if I never left bay area, CA. Inside was very nice and clean. Ordered summer rolls, and crispy spring rolls to start. Summer rolls were good, I wasn't a fan of the bean sprouts in them and I didn't really taste any mint, but the peanut sauce was good and hid any flaws. Crispy spring rolls were spot on, with great taste and cooked well. For my main I had chicken vermicelli (Bun Ga Nuong) which was very tasty. Grilled chicken had a somewhat sweet sauce on it and it went well with the nuoc cham and a little pepper paste. Will definitely be back. Beats driving all the way to mekong! The one star was for the decor, pho places are usually pretty basic with not much of an ambience, this place is nicely decorated. Everything else is downhill. The waitress was unfriendly and abrupt. We asked for plates to share 2 orders of appetizers between 3 people, she came back with 1 plate and a big bowl, then gave us a dirty look when we dared to ask for more. We ordered the grilled chicken with broken rice, the meat was paper thin, I honestly couldn't tell if it was chicken or pork. The vermicelli was undercooked and again came with paper thin meat. As if it was possible, the waitress got worse. While we were still eating, chopsticks in our hands and food still on the table, she came to our table with a dirty dishes cart and asked if we were done, it was around 2 o'clock, maybe it's time to get off? We decided to eat at this restaurant based on the reviews. I'm so glad we chose this restaurant. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with genuine smiles. The staff were great and helped me choose a dish that was a favorite with customers. All the food was amazing! My favorite was the crispy spring rolls! When we were leaving I saw the candy dish and mentioned my families favorite candy were the melon ones, the very nice lady gave my son a handful for the road! I've been to many pho restaurants in Hawaii and Korea...the pho here is amongst the top three I've eaten. Great food, and it's too bad, but until they clean it up more I will not be back. The dumplings were hot and wonderful, the hot and sour soup was very hot and sour like it should be ! Portions were also large. Problem was, the table behind us was used for accumulating dirty dishes and the little black flies were evident. Stopped in today with my family. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere made me feel relaxed. The waiter was very attentive and our food came out quickly. Pho Saigon Garden is the best Vietnamese fare I've run into outside of the major cities. Fresh delicate flavors and textures. I'm not a fan of Pho so can't speak to that but love their various rice and noodle dishes ...especially the Seafood Crispy Noodles. They have a nice selection of local and imported beers. Try the Export 33. They have bubble tea and serve really tasty fresh coconut juice with large pieces of shaved coconut in the glass. Of course we started out with A5, grilled BBQ rice paper roll. Perfect as usual. For a spicy twist, I stirred in some Siracha. That actually made it better and I may do that on a regular basis. I Then ordered the vermicelli bowl with BBQ pork and shrimp. It was was superb. Perfectly grilled pork, just right shrimp, a big bowl of noodles with shredded veggies and a delicious (and generous) side of fish sauce that was perfectly, salty, sweet and fishy. Sooooo good. This place is amazing. I love their pho!!! It's better than grandmas chicken noodle soup when you are sick. I hadn't been feeling well and crave their pho! Amazing medicine ;) The times that I've gone in to eat have been great too. They are very patient and accommodating with my two kids(3 and 1 years old) and the food is always great! If you like PHO, you need to try Pho Saigon Garden! Their PHO and Noodle Soups are soooooo good! The broth is amazing! I am not a huge fan of a lot of their other stuff on the menu. But as far as Pho I have tied about every Pho place in the Richmond surrounding area and there are a lot of Vietnamese and PHO restaurants in central VA. This one is in my Top 3 and I will have to say it's probably my second favorite. If you like Pho you need to try it out! read more

The Mrs and I came here for a late lunch. Of course we Yelped them and read the reviews. The picture of the combination curry fried rice attracted me. I was NOT disappointed at all! It was SUPERB! My wife had the Honey/Ginger crispy shrimp and scallops, she thought it was a little too sweet and needed some heat to balance the dish. I will be returning to try the spicy beef soup. Pretty good stuff. My wife and I use Yelp to determine where we will eat while on a road trip. On the way from the South, we decided to stop here. We have eaten Pho in several US cities as well as in Vietnam and Hong Kong. This is good stuff. We enjoyed my favorite Tai Chin and a Chin only for my wife along with the Sriracha wings.
