Heard about this place and wanted to check out a Vietnamese restaurant that had other goodies besides pho. We tried the combo special with grilled pork/egg quiche/shredded pork/broken rice, mi quang (pork and shrimp soup with egg noodles), Nem nuong (grilled pork sausage roll) and all of the dishes were fantastic! The serving sizes were really good for the prices and the flavors were all on point. I love how they balance the different flavors of savory, sweet, and spicy within the different dishes and it's somewhat adjustable to your liking. The mi quang (pork and shrimp noodle dish) comes with chilies on the side so you can add it to make it spicier and the pork sausage rolls comes with a side of Thai chilies if you want that extra kick. Otherwise you can leave it out. We absolutely loved the combo special and mi quang. I really loved all of the dishes but I think the pork sausage spring rolls really deserve a paragraph of their own. The balance of of the crunchy fried strip, freshness of the veggies, slightly chewy texture of the wrapper, grilled sausage that takes up half of the roll, and a savory sauce to dip it in completes it for me. I've been to a good amount of pho places in the area since i've moved here from Los Angeles and I'd say this is the best place I've been to so far. I'd definitely rate this place a 5/5 but the food didn't taste as fresh as i expected. Still a great spot when i crave my weekly pho! read more

This place serves perhaps the best Pho in Northern Virginia. The soup base is extremely clean and transparent, unlike any other Pho I've had. They offer sate and red chili crisp on the side, as well as the usual Siracha (original Huy Fong, green top). The beef slices are plentiful and of high quality. This restaurant has a 4.5 stars Yelp rating. I brought my wife here because the pictures and reviews looked very good. The food wasn't even close to 4.5 stars! It got 3 stars only because they are not as bad as Le Bledo Eatery which was rated at 2 stars. There were few people coming in on a Saturday evening!! Both dine-in and carryout totaled 5 orders while we were there for 80 minutes. That tells me a lot. Covid-19 spacing was easy because only 2 other customers were eating in the dining room the whole time we were there. Masks were required for everyone. Hand sanitizer was available.    We bought pho, grilled pork/shrimp with noodles, combination fried rice, chè thập cẩm + sầu riêng and lotus tea. The pho had eye round, brisket, flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon, tripe and beef balls. The meat and noodles were fine. The broth was weak with no depth of flavor. It was chicken broth. Look at the posted picture. I've had better tasting broth in canned soup! We ordered the P1 combo special which was supposed to be a beef noodle soup. I hope their beef broth is better. Only one restaurant's broth was worst than this, it was Le Bledo Eatery. Most of the basil and bean sprouts were starting to rot.  The ends of the bean sprouts were light brown and the basil leaves had plenty of black spots. It was unbelievably irresponsible to serve this!    The grilled pork and shrimp came with an egg roll, rice vermicelli noodles, shredded carrots, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sauce. The meat was cooked well. They were tender with a decent flavor. There was only 2 pieces of shrimp. The cucumbers and carrots were fresh (thank goodness), but the basil leaves were not. Look at the posted picture. The basil was dry and wilted. The bean sprouts were kind of limp. At least it wasn't brown yet. The sauce tasted good but not strong enough. There was only enough to flavor two thirds of the dish. The egg roll was crispy with a filling that was typical cabbage.    The combination fried rice had shrimp, chicken, onions, corn, peas, carrots and rice. It came with a cup of sauce. The sauce was essentially dark soy sauce. If flavor was behavior, this one would be very salty. Hope they didn't strain their brains dreaming up this sauce. How was the fried rice? If you google bland, you'll see a picture of this. The shrimp was the only thing with a normal flavor. The chicken and vegetables had little flavor. Amazing! How did they do that and why? There was no sauce in the dish. I guess the cup of sauce was it. We didn't use it at all because we decided none of this was worth eating. I did taste it again because I couldn't believe it was for real.     The chè thập cẩm + sầu riêng was a Vietnamese mixed sweet soup dessert made with coconut  milk, crushed ice, mung bean, red bean, red colored water chestnut, green jelly and durian. Looked it up online and one person said it was delicious. Wrong! Never get anything with durian in it. It can make you nauseated. Natural durian can smell like a mixture of rotten onions, turpentine and gym socks. This durian tasted like garlic with slightly sweeten caramel. When the soup got warmer, an unpleasant low level odor occurred inside the mouth while eating it. Now, I know what it feels like to eat a stinky gym sock with beans and coconut milk. Yummy.    The locust tea had a floral aroma and it tasted like green tea with a slight anise flavor. Unless you enjoy anise, you won't enjoy this tea. The anise was obvious, but not overbearing. We weren't loving it.    The restaurant name intrigued me. In Vietnamese, the word Oi is used to get the attention of a person in a nice way. It is equivalent to the word, Oh in English. For example, when you want the attention of someone you like, you call out, "Oh darling!" I surmise that the restaurant's name, Pho Saigon Oi, uses Oi as an attention getting postive expression of the word Oh. That reminded me of the movie, When Harry met Sally; where Meg Ryan said, "Oh" repeatedly to Billy Crystal while they were in the deli. Those were positive Ohs and it got lots of attention. It is littered with questionable reviews along with old reviews. The key to determining the usefulness of restaurant reviews is to notice how old they are, what details are provided and the type of photos provided. No photos means no proof that they were there. I didn't do a thorough job evaluating the reviews and we ended up with overpriced, middle of the road food with questionable quality and other problems. This restaurant probably had good cooks at one time, but the current group are in need of improvement. They should be required to eat the exact same type of food that they serve. Let's be honest, I overlooked this place at the beginning since people usually don't bother going to places too close to them. And, I almost made a mistake... Overall satisfaction: 9.5 / 10 Environment: - Bright and clean. Spacious. Every furniture here is newly replaced, so enjoy them as much as you can. The downside is, I really don't like the floor. It's too slippery because of the flooring material. No problem with sneakers, a bit of care if you wear flat shoes. But I guess that's only minus point that I can tell. Services: - Professional with some great sense of humor. Honestly I have experienced a lot of Viet restaurants where asking for a shrimp paste for Bun Bo Hue is like asking for gold or something. Here, whatever free add-ons you are asking for is going to be plenty. Any valid request is served from A to Z. And if anything wrong happens, they are willing to fix it with great care, as long as you are not trying to play around with them. Whenever I come, I always chill with a server named Bao. He is very funny yet whenever I need something, he never messes up my order/request. - Food and special requests are served in right time manner. This is standard, but I want to mention it once. Food taste/quality: - Outstanding, in 3 aspects: taste, portions, and variety. The top specialties include but not limited to: + Appetizer specialty: Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls. + 3 entree specialties here: Pho, Bun Bo Hue, and Mi Quang. Those are the ones I have tried and reviewed. You are more than welcome to explore the rest of the menu. How about portions: photos can tell better. I have attached the photo of an extra bowl of meatballs. Taste: pure natural. Most other Vietnamese restaurants make soups that rely too much on MSG. I'm not here to talk about its chemistry or its side effect, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people are MSG sensitive. You can easily notice the difference when you finish the entire soup paste. If MSG concentrated, I will feel cold in the back after 30 minutes of consumption. Here, none of the symptoms is applied, so you should be well-assured on it. Nevertheless, the soups don't trade off its flavor at all. A real quality and flavorful pho soup paste should be made mainly of beef marrow bones; the more bones the higher quality. If you are not a pho geek, examine the paste, and you can see the condensed layer of marrows within. Yet the price is still reasonable. I have attached the photo of Pho section below. This is a fantastic Pho spot! The service is fast and everyone who works here was nice and very helpful. It was fairly early on a Wednesday morning around 11am when we came. There were only maybe 3 other patrons but it began to pick up once lunch time hit. I ordered a regular pho with skirt steak. Very very flavorful. I enjoyed my meal so much. The beef was tender. The broth had tons of flavor! The noodles weren't mushy at all and had a great bite to them. I will for sure come back when I'm in the area to try more menu items. Wow, I was despairing of finding decent pho 'til I ate here! Flavorful tasty broth, meat (we had round steak and brisket), accompaniments. Yummy vermicelli, grilled pork and bean curd dish, soft tasty really fresh fresh rolls. There was some bone in the pork, which may have added to the flavor Everyone in the family enjoyed this place! I came here on a weekday evening with a friend. Neither of us had been to this place before or heard anything about it, but we were in the mood to try a new place on a whim. It was a nice and typical looking pho restaurant when we walked in. The service was excellent! The man who took our order was quick and attentive and came back and checked on us to see how we were liking our soups. At one point, he even came over because he saw we were drinking out of our water glasses thinking he had forgotten to give us straws (he hadn't...neither my friend or I really ever use straws). As for the food...it was fantastic! I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (H6). The broth was amazing and one of the best I have ever tasted. My friend ordered the chicken pho and he said it was as good as his favorite place (Pho Factory). This is one of my favorite Vietnamese places I have been to. Definitely will be back! read more

This is THE spot for sausage spring rolls (nem nuong cuon) when you don't want to go into Eden Center. The crispy crunch with flavorful sausage with fresh veggies wrapped in rice paper and dipped in the warm special orange sauce is oh so good! I can just eat a bunch of these for my meal. This place was highly recommended to me by my bf and I'm honestly thankful even though we only got takeout because the food was just that good. I've had bun bo hue from a few restaurants, but the broth here is just suuuper rich and packed full of flavor, so first impression was off to a good start. What is definitely now a new favorite of mine are the nem nuong rolls. They are just as flavorful, but have that same wonderful freshness you get from eating summer rolls, only with a sausage and fried egg roll wrapper rolled into it too. I no doubt would be able to make a meal out of just 4 rolls alone, not to mention the amazing sauce that comes with them. I would give 3 stars for ONLY THE FOOD! Because they were delicious... However, one of the staffs was kind of rude, I would say. Today, in the afternoon, I came in with my father while the restaurant was empty with no customer, three staffs were chilling at the table. One guy told us to sit at a table, then he put the menu on the table in an impolite way, also the way he asked us what dish we'd like to eat. Take out only due to Covid-19 my order was ready in less than 10 minutes, I can't rate the service but as soon as I paid the waitress walked away and started eating at a table with 3 other employees and I wanted to ask for extra sirrracha, however I just walked away. As soon as I got home I opened the bag to see that I had almost no broth! What little broth I did have left was bland and tasted watered down. I went back to this restaurant for the 3rd time and decided to write a review for them. 1. So far I have tried "Nem", pork rolls with special sauce and they were delicious. The rolls were even better than the one at Eden Center. I also tried "Pho", the chicken pho with tiny eggs and it was excellent and flavorful. Then "Bun Bo Hue", the spicy beef noddle soup, was very good. They deserve 5 stars for the food. 2. Customer services was fast and friendly, the manager came to our table to check on the food and talked to us. She even gave us 10% discount for being new customers. So 5 stars for customer services. I have heard the traditional "Mi Quang", the yellow noodle soup, supposed to be their signature dish. Will have to comeback to try this soon. read more

I have been going to the Pho at this same location for over 5 years when it was called Pho Saigon Quan.. it was good but i mainly went because the distance was even better; it was the closest Pho to my home. Recently the ownership and business has changed to Saigon Oi and LET ME TELL YOU - it was a game changer. My husband and I moved and this place is now 40 minutes away from us. But we still call this our GO TO Pho. The owner, Tu is absolutely amazing and so professional. The ambience is a lot more vibrant and cleaner. All the servers are attentive and are so courteous. At other Pho locations, most employees are pretty rude and just bark at you while they take orders, but you can see the harmonious team effort from the employees and the owner herself here. I also really love that the owner and employees remember certain things: like the way i take my Pho, or when I ask for extra sate sauce for a to-go order. They already have it prepared!! I am impressed.. Everything about this place is upgraded 500%. The best part is the food!!! They have made me officially addicted to their location. I first have to say I fell in love with Vietnamese food as a child. My family was very close to a Vietnamese family and I fell in love to the cuisine and culture. Pho Saigon Oi brings be back to family gatherings and happy moments of my childhood. The quality of ingredients and the flavors of Pho caused us to do takeout here twice this week. And the egg rolls! My husband and I came here today and the food tastes great. I love trng gà non so I called Pho lòng gà trng gà non, I love the ginger fish sauce came with it, really tasty. So after my review the owner reached out and explained what happened. Apparently dasher decided he wasn't going to deliver the remade items after the wrong one was picked up. DoorDash has so many problems if I didn't get a free pass from them from my cc company I wouldn't use them. Kudos to the owner for taking initiative. read more

Please check your bill before you pay, we were charged an extra 15-20% per item for dining in and an extra .50 for a to-go container. I felt like we were charged the Uber/Door dash price per item. Service and food isn't bad but nothing to rave about. read more
