Saw all the great reviews and was in the mood for some Vietnamese cuisine. We are always on the search for some solid pho. Arrived to a 'Grand Opening' sign, but believe this place has been open for a while. Not a big deal...the place is very clean and has that wonderful smell of savory broth. The 80+ inch tv sits right in the middle of the dining area so would be an excellent place to watch some sports or news. No wait for Sunday dinner as we walked right in to a seat and was greeted right away. Ordered some appetizers, 3 pho soups, a vermicelli bowl, and a stir-fry noodle dish. Appetizers arrived within minutes after ordering but without utensils, plates, and some side sauces. Again, no big deal as we just asked. Next, the main dishes came out sporadically with the pho soups first. After about 10 minutes and a few eye contacts, they realized a couple of us sat without a dish prompting to check on the order. Again, no biggie. Vermicelli and the stir-fry did finally arrive. One of the pho soups, we requested specially for an item not to be added. Well, it came out with it and they asked for us to remove it ourselves. They ended up bringing the dish to the back to just remove the items themselves and re-served it (with remnants of what was asked to be removed still present). Now, this is a big deal because it's just lazy and no care for their presentation, the dish, or customer request. And worse, if it were items that we were allergic to, removing it out of sight is pretty unsat. Nonetheless, the food was fresh and the stir-fry was good. Vermicelli was good but was only a couple bites, so unfulfilling for almost $20. The pho broth itself was bland...just needed siracha and hoisin. May give it another shot. Enjoy. read more

When I saw a new pho joint opened to rave reviews and no pictures of the pho itself, you bet I was excited to go all Anton Ego against the crowd. However, I think this place just does a lot of things right that makes me a believer. First off, this place is super clean and fresh - great location with retail parking shared with Harris Teeter complex so an easy hop from the elevator here. While only one or two parties were dining for lunch, there were more waiting for to-go which I thought was a good sign. QR code for the menu, ordered fast then off to the races. Food: - cha gio/egg rolls were a good classic - Pho special/dac biet: was scared for this since the menu only listed 3 toppings, but you get the whole shebang from brisket, meatballs, etc. Broth is on the lighter side but good depth of flavor. Side veggies were fresh and clean too. - Grilled beef banh mi (to go): came in a takeout container vs a wrap which surprised me, but the roll of soft and the beef was flavorful with plenty of lemongrass. With a solid menu of classics that's a little on the high side, was leaning more of a 4, but Saigon Pearl pushes me over the edge with just damn good customer service. Staff always checked in with me frequently to make sure I was attended to, and I saw another lady come in asking about vegetarian banh mi - while not on the menu, the staff made several options on the spot from fried tofu to vegetarian ham just for her (which I thought was awesome!). While not in the classic Eden Center, I wouldn't mind coming back here anytime I'm feeling the Viet craving. I want to try more of their dishes like the mi xao don and the bun bo hue next! read more

Worst Vietnamese meal I have had, ever. I asked for an extra helping of tripe, for $5 I got perhaps 1/2 cup of a few pieces of tripe. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it took the cook 20 minutes to get our meal out to us. Part of the delay was, fixing the take-away that we wanted AFTER our meal (which arrived, BEFORE our meal). It's not their fault but the parking garage is a zoo. There is no on-street parking. The waitress would do better by not chewing gum while she's working. read more

Wanted to give this place a try after reading great reviews. Everything was wonderful from the food to the service! They were generous with the meat portion and I appreciate that they didn't overcook it. Summer rolls were fresh with the rice paper still chewy. My boyfriend who ordered the Bun Bo Hue enjoyed his bowl and liked that he could really taste the lemon grass. Vietnamese coffee was the perfect level of sweetness. Pretty good pho. Staff is nice, however, the manager seems to be on the phone having a good time every time I come in and really doesn't provide good customer service. She literally checked me out on the phone, gave my menu on the phone, and went in and out of the kitchen on the phone. The food here was great! The fried chicken wings with fish sauce (Cánh gà chiên nước mắm) is crispy with the perfect amount of sauce. Portion was great and they had chicken broth to accommodate for our chicken pho as well. Had the Bun Bo Hue, Pho Combination, Chicken Pho, Pork and Beef Banh Mi, Egg rolls, as well as the Spring rolls. Everything tasted great and the best so far in Arlington! For drinks, we had the Thai tea which had a great flavor that reminded me of Tea store style tea as well as a coconut drink that had coconut in it! Service was great too, our server was helpful with questions and got us accommodations when necessary. The first observation we made was that the ambiance here was lovely. Tons of natural light, high ceilings, a calming blue color on the walls, spa-like music. Very relaxing, plus the large glass walls look out onto a plaza with grassy landscaping and a water feature. The menu was large and vegetarian-friendly, plus a good selection of bubble teas. It was a nice addition to our usual rotation of Vietnamese places, which includes place we love but that don't have nearly as many options to choose from. The food itself was really good. Everything came to us hot and very fresh, which, of course, amped up the flavor. My vegetarian spring rolls were superb, the best I have had in recent memory, and came with a fairly standard red dipping sauce. My taro milk tea with boba was also very nice, mixed fresh, and it lacked the unpleasant grainy texture and/or slightly popcorny taste that I have sometimes observed in the past with taro flavored milk teas specifically. My fiance's beef banh mi was excellent and he really enjoyed it. I ordered lemongrass tofu. The menu wasn't super descriptive and it was exactly what it said: fried pieces of tofu with a lemongrass coating, and an ample portion. The flavor was very good, and it was a unique dish I hadn't seen in other Vietnamese restaurants, but it didn't have any kind of sauce on it and wasn't mixed with vegetables or anything, so it was pretty dry and had the same texture and flavor throughout so it got kind of boring after a while. Had this been mixed in a sauce with a few chopped up veggies for variety, however, i would have been stellar. The servers were very friendly and eager to be helpful, but we did have some communication barrier issues that impacted our meal. While my fiance eventually loved his banh mi, he ordered it without mayo, which he can't stand, but it came out with an ample slathering of the stuff. When we called it to the server's attention she immediately apologized and got him a new one. When she came back with the second banh mi, since my tofu dish was so very dry, I tried to diplomatically ask if there was a sauce that was supposed to go on my tofu that I hadn't received, or if I was meant to use the hoisin and sriracha already on the table, and our server didn't understand my question. So I let it go and ended up using the leftover sauce from my spring rolls, which was definitely not intended but I had to improvise. Earlier in our meal, the spring rolls had left my fingers really greasy but we hadn't received napkins, so I got the attention of a staff member other than our server and asked for napkins, but she didn't understand. All in all, I recommend this place because care is clearly put into the food and the environment, and the food is flavorful, well-made and fresh. Just set your expectations regarding communication and service. A note re: parking - there IS free parking here, but it's kind of hard to find. In the back of the building you can turn into a driveway to go into the underground parking garage, but there are big signs that say resident parking and Harris Teeter parking and it can be easy to miss the fact that it's also for the other retail in the plaza, including Pho Saigon Pearl. When you get into the garage, it's a bit of a maze to get to the parking that's designated for the smaller retail places other than Harris Teeter. And then there are very conspicuously posted signs about paying to park, which are confusing. It took us a while to figure out that that's for overnight parking only and you don't have to pay during daytime business hours. read more

The service was excellent as the owner and staff were very attentive. Ample large parking spaces under the building make it easier than dining at the nearby Eden Center. I then asked if I could change it, the server was really nice. The owner then starts raising her voice at the server in Vietnamese. He comes back and says, "I can change it for you, but you have to pay 50% for this soup that you're not about to eat". I asked if that is the only option, he looked defeated. *Food: I was so excited to see bun cha Ha Noi on the menu. It wasn't bad, but if you're looking for something authentic, probably look somewhere else. Like many other Vietnamese restaurants in the US, this restaurant offers Southern style dishes and they don't know how to make authentic Northern style dishes. (Take it from me. I spent my first 20 years in Northern Vietnam.) Nonetheless, it's a tasty dish. The grilled meat was juicy and flavorful, tho slightly sweeter than what I like. I wish there would have been more sauce so that I could dip everything (noodle and meat) in the sauce like the way it's supposed to be served. I would go back for a Southern dish. We ordered carryout from here a few weeks ago and though it's not close to our home in DC, it was worth the trip. The guy who answered the phone (and ultimately gave us our order when we arrived) was nice and friendly. The restaurant wasn't busy but it was a terribly cold day and though they weren't pushy they were happy to tell us a bit about their backstory when I asked how long they had been open. The pho broth was some of the best I've had in the DMV, and it was accompanied by a hefty serving of noodles, sprouts, etc. Their crispy rolls were also some of the best we've had in the area. The Shakey Beef was tastefully seasoned, though a bit chewy for my taste and the fried rice was a bit bland. Will definitely return for the pho if we are ever in the area. read more

I've only ordered takeout however, when walking into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by a lovely young lady. She helped me out and gave me suggestions and some of her favorite menu items. I end up getting the brisket and round eye steak pho with their chicken wings... I did not like the chicken wings. They just didn't look to be fried well enough so I didn't eat those, but the pho was amazing. It was such a large portion I wish I would've gotten more basil, however everything was so good. I come in to Pho Saigon pretty often to refuel after a workout. In terms of dining out, they have some of the healthiest, best quality menu options I've had in a long time. All of the staff is super friendly and approachable. They play this really soothing music in the restaurant too, with a giant tv that displays beautiful landscapes. I look forward to coming in every week and treating myself to their #8. The portion size is perfect for me and it fits in with my fitness and nutritional goals really well (although I usually get extra beef). Seriously, this place is the best. read more

I grew up going to Eden center and still go all the time. But I just catered my son's baptism from here for 20 people yesterday and the food and presentation were EXCELLENT. All of my viet relatives were so impressed they are going to start going here.
