They offer multiple AYCE tiers, which I appreciated depending on how much you want to indulge. Lunch starts at $26.99, with dinner tiers at $36.99 and $44.99, and a premium option at $74.99. I opted for the premium tier, and in my opinion, it's worth it if you want access to everything on the menu, including Wagyu and more elevated seafood options. The food quality stood out across the board. Some of my favorite dishes were the wagyu foie gras spoons, oysters with vinegar jelly, yellowtail jalapeño, and the salmon nigiri, which tasted very fresh. The cheese baked lobster and wagyu sliders were also highlights and not something you typically expect at a sushi spot. One thing that makes this place unique is the addition of hot pot. I tried both the mushroom broth and the spicy tomato broth, and I would recommend either depending on your preference--they were both flavorful and paired well with the available ingredients. To finish, I had the matcha crepe cake, which was a nice, light dessert to end the meal. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're looking for a wide selection of sushi, hot pot, and premium items all in one place. I'd definitely recommend coming hungry to get the most out of the experience.

It's a delicious journey through different forms of Japanese cuisine, from raw dishes to grilled, fried, and even a comforting soup course. The setting is intimate, with just a few seats per seating, which makes the experience feel personal and unrushed. Each dish is introduced with care, offering insight into the ingredients and preparation and adding an extra layer of appreciation to the meal. We opted for the sake pairing, which complemented the courses beautifully. Standout dishes for us were the sashimi and the wagyu beef, both incredibly fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. That said, every course was truly delicious. Nasime is a wonderful spot for a thoughtful, peaceful dinner and an especially great choice for a date night. Reservations are required through Resy, and I definitely recommend coming hungry--you'll want to enjoy every course.

To explain my review, I am most influenced by how much I enjoyed the food. It's only fair to note…read morethe menu rotates and I received a serving that I would not personally enjoy. Perhaps it was being a patron during the winter when freshness is limited. Each dish we ate I rank below: 1) poached egg w/ blue crab dashi ankake (5/10) - the egg was cold and cooled the soup once the yolk was pierced which took away from the experience for me. The crab was good and it was supplemented by this corn-like kernel that was bitter and complemented the soup well. 2) seared wagyu with truffle shoyu (8/10) - seems to be a staple. Delicious. Wish there was more truffle since some pieces weren't as covered. Slightly cold but didn't take away from the experience. 3) otsukuri (sashimi) (8.5/10) - wish this was the majority of the meal. This was the part enjoyed most. A wide variety of fish. I would've enjoyed this more if it was not all served at once. 4) spanish octopus agedashi (8/10) - very delicious though the octopus pieces were very big and some too fatty. ' 5) prime fillet mignon w/ haccho miso graze (9/10) - amazing!! our favourite dish. served on a bed of eggplant and mozz cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked. 6) maple leaf duck noodle soup (3/10) - did not enjoy this dish. The broth was not savoury and the duck was far too gamey and fatty. Fortunately, we were stuffed so didn't eat this one. 7) housemade strawberry japanese fro yo (8/10) - refreshing and delicious Cocktails - 7/10 - very limited menu. We had one of the signature cocktails and a whisky. They were both light but lacked complexity. Most of the flavour was given way by the yuzu. Atmosphere - this is where the restaurant shines and I'd recommend going for a special date. It's a very intimate setting. About 10 people can be seated every time, and I believe there are two seatings each evening (6pm and 8:30pm). You are not rushed. We had the 8:30pm seating and lingered for almost 3 hours. It was an excellent environment conducive to conversation. We sat at the bar and saw the one-man show, the chef, prepare all the food. He had a haughty energy, very focused, and unsmiling. He gave the aura of a trained culinary genius. This was nicely contrasted with the one server, a charming and smiling individual. The place is not fancy - I do think it could've been nicer - but I believe it is the most authentic Japanese restaurant you'll find in all the DMV. I would highly recommend to everyone interested in fine Japanese cuisine.

The food at Sakaki is full of flavor and the prices are reasonable for the amount. I think, after being twice, that the AYCE is not as worth it for me personally because I'm not a big eater, but it's totally worth it if you want a lot of variety and you have a good appetite. I really liked the rolls in particular. The service was excellent- it was a nice balance of coming over once in a while to ask how we were doing without coming over too much. The vibes are awesome with a really nice interior- definitely a nice place to go for a date,!just to go with friends to have a nice meal, or even to grab a meal alone since the center has a large area for single seating. Fyi- for the AYCE menu, note that once you put in an order for a round, you can't order for another 10 min so be sure to order enough at a time. Also, there is a time limit to the AYCE (I think it was 90 min). This'll definitely be a place I go to regularly in the future!

I tried as much of the menu as I could and the rolls and nigiris were definitely the highlight. I wouldn't recommend the crab korokke (too liquidy, and no crab that I could taste) or the karagge - save space for other items! The AYCE is 90mins and you can order every 10 minutes from a tablet. Service was FAST, they definitely weren't playing games. The restaurant itself is also super spacious and well decorated.

It's so flavorful, the noodles are so bouncy and don't get overcooked in the broth. I often don't finish ramen broth anyway bc it's quite salty (they do offer ramen broth bowls if that's what your feeling). All that to say, the aburasoba that they do here is really good. Some of the apps are on the smaller side, but the salad and the tebasaki are worth it for sharing. You can order with the staff or with the kiosk. I was aware of this spot for a while now after the old Foxfire grill closed but taking the time out to try it has been tricky. Well, what's a better time than 30 minutes before closing time to just pop in and grab a couple of bowls then! It's cold, it's night, it's ramen time! We stumble in grab some shoyu, miso, seaweek salad, takoyaki, karaage, and tiramisu at the end. This place feels like a Japanese version of a Pho shop. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Service was good, straigh forward, skip all the pleasantries. No Bars here but there is a connected space where you can get matcha drinks and boba but its matcha. Everything was matcha. If you're into that stuff, then that's a matcha for you. Ramens were okay. Broth was blowing my mind in flavor. I would say the depth was not too deep but this will work for a cold night. Karaage was okay. Takoyaki lacked impact in flavor also, missing the oomf! Seaweed salad was good but I'm not gonna rave about seaweed salad. We wrapped things up with the tiramisu cake. Oh boy, that was a surprise. It fell flat. The layers were overcooked and had a tough bite. I expect tiramisu to have a tender bite to it. We didn't finish that slice of cake. Well, we left full but half fulfilled. Was it worth it? Not really. If you need ramen and cup o noodles isn't cutting it, this is an option. Then again, there are options.
