We purchased the recent Groupon too. The waitress/cashier/hostess was very courteous and friendly. We ordered Pho, Won-ton Egg Noodles and Chicken Rice Dish. The soup base for the Pho and Won-Ton was very good and tasty. It is important for Pho restaurant to have a good soup base. The meat and veggies are only secondary to the soup. Unfortunately, the Chicken Rice Dish was very small for the price range compared to other Vietnamese Pho restaurant. As for returning, it would not be my 1st choice due to closer Pho restaurants to my home with lower prices and bette food. If I am in the area, it would be my preferred choice. First time here..Great experience. I am giving 5 stars because I really can't figure out some of the 1 and 2 stars. I mean, everyone has their own taste. But, the service here was great. i don't care what the other reviewers say. Maybe I came on a good day, who knows. The food was great! I had Bun with Char grilled beef, shrimp and an egg roll and Ice Tea. My wife had the Bun with stir fried beef, and my son had the Pho with rare beef. We all loved the food. Best I have had in OC! First of all...this place delivers...awesome! I'm definitely a Pho fiend and I must say, the food here is wonderful. I ordered the vegetarian pho and I've never had so many veggies and pieces of tofu in my soup! Its so amazing! One thing that definitely stands out, is the fresh coconut water. Not only is it reasonably priced but it's incredibly delicious and has pretty much single handedly cured my hangover today. He is definitely on point, the ambiance and temperature in the restaurant is great it's very comfortable not too loud and not too quiet. The customer service is great. My advice if you're going to order for take out, don't. Unless you have an hour to spare. We placed our order tonight online through postmates to pick up and when we got to the restaurant they said it'd be a little so we waited 15 minutes and checked again and they said someone had already pick up our order? Which is crazy to me because it wasn't for a delivery I was there to pick up my own order. The guy then said they'd just remake us a new one. Which also seemed weird. We waited 30 more minutes and realized by the crowd of people there before and after us that we were definitely not getting our food. Uber eats and postmate drivers were all turning away canceling their deliveries after waiting 45 minutes themselves. It was insane. We ended up just walking away after a full hour of trying to figure it out and now have to deal with postmates about getting our money back because we never received any food. I'm sure this restaurant is hurting because of COVID however they had absolutely no order to what was going on, it was a mess. I don't think I'll be going out of my way to eat here anymore. It's still a nice place, the food is entirely edible, but ... the noodles came out in a solid overcooked clump, and tended to break into smaller noodles and smaller clumps when attempting to separate the noodles. No tripe in the combo. No refills on drinks. No attempt to remove empty plates. At the same time, they have signs on every table informing the clientele that they can't be arsed to provide more than one check per table, and after swiping your card, they hand you a slip to sign with a number of suggestions for tips that go beyond what their service deserves. I don't think that I'm the only one who has noticed that they've slipped; someone at the next table was berating them for puny portions on dishes that they had ordered in the past and gotten a decent amount. read more

Just tried this place for the first time and I wasn't that impressed. The actual restaurant is clean and ok. I'll start with the bad and end with the good. The noodles were a bit overcooked so it was slightly mushy. The broth was really salty...it also felt like an MSG overload. But the GOOD part was that their sprouts were very clean which can be hard to come by at pho places. And the service was good! Great place to have Phô in Cypress. The employees are nice and friendlier than usual Vietnamese places. They offer groupons sometimes, which just gives more incentive to go here. We've come here several times now. It has become our go-to place whenever we get the cravings for Pho. We used to have a different go-to Pho restaurant not too far from this place, but decided never to go back there after terrible experiences with a new server. Ok - so I'm maybe one of 5% of people who don't really care for Pho, but I continue to try it just in case I find a place that changed my mind. We were invited to Pho So 9 with some friends, so why would I turn down a free attempt at changing my mind about Pho? First we arrived and stood at the door while the 2 or 3 people working the dining room were running around. We waited to be seated but we're finally told to seat ourselves. We cozied up on a booth/chair split table. Asked for a high chair for our 1 year old - we were told both high chairs were being used (by 2 kids that were probably old enough to not have to use them). So we hung in there and waited. We placed our order and I am assuming by the way our server was acting he was new. Our appetizers came out at different times and we had to ask for plates and utensils. Many of the plates at the table were delivered to the wrong person. We were never asked for refills on our drinks and we were stuck with our empty plates and glasses for most of our meal after we finished. There was a lady that was helping our server, but it seemed more like she was following him around with a watering can just to put out the fires he started. Our Pho was OK nothing to really make me want to go back. I have come to the conclusion that Pho is just supposed to be tasteless, at least that's what I keep experiencing. read more
