We found a dead whole Ant in our pho noodle soup. AN ANT!!!!!!!!!! It was huge too! On the bottom of the bowl. Just ewwwwww.......the waiter didn't even apologize, brought the half eaten soup back to the kitchen, and brought us the full check charging for the pho that had an ANT in it. Wow... A casual, unpretentious, inexpensive, and clean restaurant in Kenner, on Veteran's near Williams Blvd., serving delicious Vietnamese food. For appetizers we ordered shrimp spring rolls and also an order of tofu spring rolls. Those came with a delicious sweetened peanut sauce. I ordered Pho with beef and tendons to which I added fresh vegetables, bean sprouts, mint leaves, and Thai basil leaves, lemon wedge, and jalapeno peppers that came on a separate plate. The pho's flavorful broth had a hint of star anise. Yum! My spouse orderd his favorite, grilled pork with rice noodles. He loved it! He also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, strongly brewed coffee with sweetened condensed milk that he enjoyed immensely. The staff was very friendly and willing to explain the menu. The food was really good. I've been here a dozen times for various reasons. Firstly, as far as Viet options in the city go, this place is definitely on the cheaper side. Second, the food comes out quicker than most places. I have been to many places and had to wait 15-20 minutes for my food to show up. But here, on a good day, appetizers out in 5, and entrees in after you're done with the apps. They must have a very efficient kitchen staff, because the food never tastes pre-prepared then overheated. Then, there's the cleanliness of the staff. When you're done with plates, they pick them up. They are very attentive and friendly. And the food, it's always so delicious. Their egg rolls and spring rolls taste vastly better than other places I've been to. The only down sides I see is that there's few tables, so it can get pretty full during rush hours; and that there's often only 2 waitresses, so they have to rush around tables and I bet they get overwhelmed. read more

From the outside, it doesn't seem like this place is banking on much, but as the saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover". I started off with the spring roll, which was good, but pretty much what I expected from a spring roll. I also got a Pineapple Bubble Tea for my beverage. If you've never had a bubble tea, it's something have to try! It's like a smoothie with Gummie Bears in it. If your not one who likes textured food, then I recommend you get one without the tapioca balls. For my dinner I got the Bún Bò Hũ. It's a spicy beef and noodle soup with a beef broth that is similar to traditional pho. It was fantastic! I had just flew in from Virginia, and I seriously felt regenerated after eating it. I also must say the service was great! My waitress constantly made sure I was taken care of. All in all, this place is a must try. This place is pathetic. Everytime myself or my company personnel order from this place, they would ALWAYS get the order wrong. The lady that take order over the phone simply doesn't understand English nor Vietnamese. For example, I ordered stir fry combination noodle and they got me cleared water noodle soup. I called and talked to the lady that took my order and instead of apologize for her mistake, she said I was wrong. So I asked her what's her definition of, " stir fry" but she kept insist " stir fry" is cleared water soup. F.Y.I. I am Vietnamese and I ordered the food in Viet. And it doesn't take a genius to know between stir fry and cleared soup. This place used to be called Pho T&Q, now its Pho Sunrise. Hopefully soon it will be Pho Out Of Business. My husband eats here weekly for lunch and we eat here for dinner or order take out. The staff is friendly ready to please you. The soups are delicious! I've had the rare beef and brisket and the chicken Pho. I've also had the wonton soup which is awesome as well! My husband enjoys their various dinner plates as well. If you are looking for good service DON'T come here. I think it was due to the waitress's language barrier. I had a few questions about the menu (I'm a newbie to pho and bubble tea) and the waitress was rude and short. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to ask questions plus she wouldn't take our drink order because we weren't ready to order food. Who does that?
