My husband and his dad came here to pick up some lunch one day and each got a bowl of Bun Bo Hue. Now, these men are normally fans of spicy food, have had Bun Bo Hue at other restaurants before, and even use the chicken fire noodle sauce on a regular basis. However, I don't know what kind of sorcery or magic peppers they used for that soup but it was so spicy that my husband and his dad were dying at how spicy it was. The warm broth and slippery vermicelli noodles tastes so good and it will defrost the air between you and your honey-bun. We both ordered the #6 beef pho which comes with rare beef, flank steak, and tendons. They only come in regular or large sizes but you can also add more noodles for extra $ka-$ching. The broth, in my opinion, was good. It was flavorful, not overly salty and just made me feel comfortable drinking it up. I thought service was good. They sat us down immediately and came over to take our orders within 5 minutes. And the food came out quickly too, so, we were in and out of there in 30 minutes. Sit, order, slurp, and go! Came here for dinner at 8:15pm, the hours posted on the door and on Yelp reflect open until 9pm. The man at the register looked at the clock and said "to-go only, we close at 8:30". Terrible service! This is the 2nd time I ordered from them and received the wrong order. They does NOT take responsibility for the delivery services that they've contracted with. Not sure who's fault it was (delivery) or restaurant for the wrong order but when I tried providing my name and address to associate the order with they were uninterested in this info. Decent pho near my house. The broth is good but I've had more flavorful broths. Fresh vegetables and noodles aren't hard. I ordered to go and they give you hoisin and siracha in cute packets. My girls and I love this place! We are always in a rush when we have time to come here, but they provide such quick and friendly service. Our pho and spring rolls are always so delicious! Avocado drink is also very yummy. They have fixed it up over the years and it really is very nice to dine in at. Always clean, friendly, and decorated very nicely. Restrooms are always clean as well. We come here pretty frequently because it's right around the corner from where we live. The food is tasty mostly, service is very friendly. They are super accommodating when we accidentally came one night 20 minutes before closing time. It was never too busy so we were always able to get seated right away. My mom and I ordered the #1 Pho and it was okay. However our rice plates were the BOMB DOT COM. I ordered the Bbq chicken, Chinese sausage, with an over easy egg over rice and it was A1! Years ago, this used to be a mediocre Chinese restaurant. Now it's a pretty darned good vietnamese restaurant. I've had good pho and just tried their iron pot rice with sausage topped with a fried egg. Good service and you pay at the counter when you leave. I was happy to see a new Pho place while going to the nearby Safeway and decided to check it out. There is dedicated parking for the restaurant which is nice. They are open 7 days per week. They have been open approximately one week. The space is well appointed with many seating options but without feeling too crowded. The pictures on the walls of scenes from Vietnam are a nice touch. The colors of the walls added a nice touch as well. I like the music which sounded like Vietnamese pop playing unobtrusively in the background, adding to the mood. The lighting is golden and bright enough to see what you are eating without being too bright. The black tile floor may be hard to keep from showing footprints, dust, dirt and debris. It will take a bit of upkeep to keep looking sharp as the day goes on. I felt awkward seated directly next to the cash register as things were slow, and the attentive server would keep standing at that corner a couple of feet away so that he could be attentive to the L shaped dining room. The cashier also was standing there while waiting for customers to materialize. While I am sure they wasn't interested in watching me slurp my soup, I would prefer a different seat next time. I guess I learned that I feel awkward having someone standing and looking my direction while eating. Aside from that, the staff were polite and my food came out fast. I appreciated the accommodation to my order given that I asked for tofu to be added to the veggie pho with beef broth. The soup was good although the veggies were borderline too soft. But that did make the bok choy easier to eat. Usually I just skip it as I find it difficult to eat when not soft. I tried the veggie spring rolls with a peanut sauce which were good but not my favorite. The tables have a nice set-up of sauces, napkins, spoons, and chop sticks.
