We researched this restaurant ahead of time and the menu looked good to us. Once we arrived and had the physical menu in front of us, we noticed that the prices were different than what was listed online. One meal was $3.50 higher than listed online. From living on the coast that has many many Pho restaurants, I was very skeptical about trying the Pho here in Indy since it is majority ramen restaurants up here. Pleasantly to my surprise the Pho is VERY well cooked here. I started with the spring rolls and the peanut dipping sauce was unique and packed full of flavor. The Pho! I ordered the house special. It was not spicy so if you order with you will need to add spices but it was packed full of meat and vegetables and broth was great. My favorite pho spot! My ex and I ate here at least 4 times a month. It's clean, modern, staff is friendly and the food is consistent. It's one of the few pho restaurants in Indianapolis that serves a veggie pho with vegetarian broth. The veggies are fresh, the noodles are perfectly done and it's not too salty. Ordered takeout for lunch on a random weekday. Pho Tasty is in front of the Castleton Square Mall in one of the strip malls. I was looking for something different for lunch and this sounded just about right. I walked in, ordered and my meal was ready in less than 10 minutes. I got the Bun Thit Heo (beef vermicelli noodles - marinated beef and spring roll and fish sauce). This was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and the meat was marinated just so. The portion was larger than other vermicelli restaurants I've been to and I was completely satisfied - I probably could have had some leftovers for the next day but I really couldn't stop eating it. I expected to like Pho Tasty a lot more than I did. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, family owned and run, everything cooked to order... what's not to love? Well, at least on this visit, there just wasn't a lot in the bowl besides noodles. There were a few relatively bland pieces of meat in the meat dish that we ordered, and four small shrimp (that pretty clearly had been frozen) in the seafood dish. When we asked about the squid that the latter was supposed to come with, they graciously brought it out a few minutes later in a separate bowl for us. With a little fish sauce, the dish because a lot more interesting, but, at least this round, neither of us felt that what we got was worth the price. read more

!!! CUSTOMER BEWARE !!! Our normal go to restaurant is closed on Sunday (probably due to COVID) so we decided to go to Pho Tasty. Been here before and the food was alright. We had a table for 4 (3 adults 1 14 year old). The service was horrible and the soup tasted mostly like water. The noodle were bunched up and undercooked! There were little meat (about 2-3 pieces per bowl, if you paid 3 dollar extra they add only about 2 pieces) BUT THAT NOT ALL!!! They asked for 18% TIPS when there was almost NO SERVICE AT ALL! The price was already about 63 dollar (without tip but with tax)! With the service tip it would round up to 73.66, which would be too much for just a meal for 4 people. We gave them 67 dollar (which would be more than normal anyway since they didn't have great service). They decided to chase after us and told us that we should give more money. We told them it was already too much and we would not pay. As we drove off, they decided to GO AFTER US. They drove very close too us almost bumping out car, we were super scared because of this! In the end we payed the bill and they were super mean about it. WE ARE NEVER EVER GOING BACK AGAIN. Best place to get pho in north east Indy. Even though we usually get the pho, we've eaten multiple things on their menu and have never been let down. The place is always clean. Everyone is friendly. They have too many flavors of bubble tea to mention! We also get our pho to go. It's packaged really well and remains hot all the way to Broad Ripple. This place is Pho-tastic! I had never actually had Pho and I'm so so happy that this was my first go around! With my friend whose favorite food is Pho moving away, it was crucial that she take my Pho virginity and I was left happy and full after my visit. Very few pho place has ox tail soup, this one has it! It was pretty good; however, the ox tail can use a bit more flavor but it was very tender. We had a couple bubble tea, the avocado bubble tea was made with real avocado! Some places made it with powder... The restaurant is fairly small, clean, and has good customer service. The first time I went, which was, mind you, only for bubble tea; they're were about 20 people there..... At the END of lunch hour (around 2pm). Sitting. I knew in that moment that my return was imminent. The portion size is incredible. I ordered veggie because I was feeling particularly heavy and I wanted something lighter. It didn't matter. This was a feast sized portion. The broth was super delicate and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. I really don't know how else to convince you to give this place a try. I wanted to like this place, honest. But I just didn't. I came here with friends and order Pho Dac Biet; my friend ordered the Bun Rieu. My pho was mediocre at best. The minute they put the soup down in front of me, I knew something was wrong. The broth was so pale, it was almost water colored and lacked depth of being simmered for hours. The meat and noodle amounts were ok but nothing spectacular to write about. My friend enjoyed his bun rieu but from the looks of it, it didn't look very authentic. They did have what my family calls "chocolate" (congealed pigs blood) which is not served at most restaurants, but even that was lacking in flavor. As a side note for service, the waiter was very nice and attentive. The food did take very long to come out to us (which is weird since the soup should be pre-made and simmering and you just need to put the ingredients together in one bowl). On top of that, I did ask the waiter if they had jackfruit for their smoothies to which he told me no, they never do. I later saw a sign on my way out that lists jackfruit as an option. Kind of weird that he didn't seem to know the menu. At the end of the day, there are other Vietnamese restaurants with better quality that I would rather go to. read more

The broth makes the dish and today I had their #31 house special, with the rare beef, brisket, tendon, tripe, meatballs... and it had all the ingredients they say they had! This place is terrible. Don't bother. Chao up on 96th street is fantastic with vegan options. We went in to Pho Tasty and ordered vegan pho and vegan curry. They confirmed it with us, and then proceeded to bring us curry with chicken in it. We bring to their attention, and they said "oh, yes that's chicken. I don't know what happened, I told them vegan." And then they left the table, they did not offer to make it right, they did not offer to take the price off our bill. We will never be back. read more

Great food and service. All ingredients taste fresh. Each table has a chili paste bottle, fish sauce, red chili flake container, sriracha bottle, and soy sauce. The restaurant is seat yourself but I've never had trouble getting a lunch time seat. My favorite is number 41. It's a typical vegetable phō with tofu. Broth is light and delicious. I came here for lunch thinking I was going shopping afterwards, well I was wrong it tasted so good that I ate to much and now can't move. I got the special and I can't per ounce the name but it is beef stew with rice noodles. Visually it looked great then came the smells which were even better but after the first bite I was hooked. Update: Unfortunately these guys did a nose dive. During our last visit we waited a half an hour for them to tell us they didn't have what we ordered. There were people there longer than us with no food. Hopefully they'll recover. Big improvement from it's predecessor V-Café. There is now a full menu with lots of interesting choices. The goi roll was a bit weak. The shrimp and pork were cut so thin as to be translucent. Also it was missing the traditional mint leaf. The dippy sauce was very peanuty. Overall not bad just not up to it's potential. A pork sausage roll on the special of the day menu was very good but had a sauce that was so bland we couldn't figure out what it was. The first sauce with the 2nd roll would have been perfect. The Mi Xa Gion a seafood, pork and beef combination on crunchy noodle had great flavor. Subtle but full. It suffered from small shrimp that weren't fresh. It was overly expensive for the quality of the ingredients. The rare beef pho was one of the best pho's I've had. It was slightly sweat at first but we didn't notice that after a few bites. It is not as beefy as other pho's but the flavors killed it and the noodles were cooked just right (it's so easy to overcook rice noodles and they often are). We liked it enough that we are looking forward to our next visit. read more

The new owners have really turned this place into a great restaurant. They did a remodel on the inside and it looks much brighter and more welcoming. They also expanded the menu and add Bahn Mi (THANK YOU) . I ordered their Grilled Chicken Bahn Mi which was phenomenal! The chicken was great and the sandwich itself had a great spicy flavor. Tip: skip the mayo and have them add avocado. That's a perfect Bahn Mi. They also now offer fruit smoothies with boba. I had an avocado smoothie with boba which was very good. I haven't tried any other pho places around the area, because I know I will be disappointed compared to the plethora of pho joints that I frequent back on the East coast. However, I knew I was going to get some decent pho since this place was recommended by a Vietnamese person. We were greeted right away by one of the waitresses. The menu is not super extensive like other Vietnamese restaurants. It's probably a good thing because it helps me narrow down my choices. Husband and I each ordered a bowl of pho with different meat toppings. The broth was flavorful, not too strong, and not soaked with MSG (I wasn't super thirsty). I felt like there was the right amount of meat/pho ratio. The only complaint was that it took a long time for the pho to come to the table. Though I'm used to pho places churning out bowls of hot pho in seconds, I am overall glad that I have found a pho place here that I can count on. My husband and I decided to give Pho Tasty a try after a Coscto run - who doesn't like a good bowl of Pho? I was looking for something a little lighter, so I opted for the vegetable Pho. The vegetables were very crisp, not soggy and over cooked and the tofu was browned first, so it also held its shape quite well and it had a nice mouth feel.
